Common Questions and Answers about Yeast infection from women to men

yeast-infection

Avatar n tn s also super common in pregnancy to get one seeing how out baodies produce more years when pregnant. Men can get yeast infections as well its just not as common as women.
Avatar f tn A week after my boyfriend and I had sex, he got a yeast infection. I have no symptoms of anything but I've read that men usually get yeast infections from women. Does this mean I most likely gave it to him? And if so, how do I go about curing it and preventing it in the future?
Avatar n tn m 36 weeks when I went to the doctor I was told I had that white discharge that was yeast infection..,,,then,before I could explain to my boyfriend... he tells me that something isn't right on his penis. That his penis is sore and hurts.,,,,could he have contracted my yeast????? I never knew men could pick it up but I guess anything is possible..I feel horrible he is already a germ-phobic.
Avatar n tn You have to remember that your partner also has to be treated for the yeast infection even if he has no symptoms. It could also be hormonal. What I would do is skip the oral for a while and when you have sex, apply that cream so it gets all over both of you and your men.
19413498 tn?1477669741 I believe I was given a yeast infection from a woman after sex, this was 7 months ago and I have a constant red rash on my penis that gets really red when erect (typical penile Yeast symptoms). I have tried Diflucan, Lamasil (terbainafine) and ketaconazle cream all which did nothing. It has effected me psychologically an incredible amount.
Avatar f tn if you are having SEX with your partner while you have a yeast infection,..then your partner then gets it to. BUT,..MEN SHOW NO SYMPTOMS!!! so you and your partner both need to be treated for the yeast infection or it becomes like a ping-pong game,....you get treated but you just get itback again after having sex with your partner.
Avatar f tn If you have something that meets some of the descriptions of a yeast infection and it is bothering you, it is not going to hurt to get checked by the doctor *or* to use an over-the-counter preparation. If you go see a doc, please remember it is not an STD or a moral judgement or evidence of bad hygiene or ANYTHING bad. Most women have had a yeast infection, as have lots of men and lots of babies. The only thing to be embarrassed about is not getting medical advice if you need it.
Avatar m tn When I was in third grade they tried to take a swab and I was too scared to let them. From the time I was about 14 to 19 the yeast infections stopped. Now I am 22 and since about last year they have been coming back. I noticed I began having yeast infections the more I drank alcoholic beverages. I am beginning to believe it has something to do with that. So I am going to stop drinking for a while and see what happens. Worrying can cause them as well.
Avatar n tn It could be a yeast infection. It is more common in women, but men can get them too. It can be passed back and forth from your partner to you, especially if she is prone to them. Its not an STD, its just a yeast that takes over all the "good" bacteria that keeps things balanced. I would go see your doc again and ask them if that is what it could be. Women are given cream inserts of oral pills. Not sure how men have it treated.
Avatar n tn I think you can be sure your symptoms are from a very heavy yeast infection. You are either failing to get rid of it or something else is comprimising your immune system and causing it to reaccure. I hope you get a doctor like mine who really listens and is trying to figure out what is going on.
Avatar m tn If it's on the outside of your scrotum it's not a yeast infection but a different fungal infection akin to athlete's foot called jock itch. The topical cream takes a while to work, it doesn't work right away. Sometimes you can get rid of it with natural antifungals as well. It often comes back, because the fungi just hibernate until the area is again amenable to them -- moist, sweaty.
Avatar m tn *we plan on it * just wondering I noticed to night there was a paste like substance on bed like mushy rice sorry for being gross only way to describe it is that STD related to women?
Avatar f tn Can my boyriend also have yeast infection? he has no symptoms.. but if he doesnt get treatment will he then pass it back to me when i am cured??
Avatar n tn You can get a bacterial infection from having sex with someone who has one or just from having poor hygiene in general. What type of bacterial infection do you mean?
Avatar f tn Not sure I understand that reaction. All women and many men get yeast overgrowth from time to time. Symptoms are itching, irritation and clumpy discharge. If you develop those symptoms, either go to the doctor for a swab to make sure and then treat or treat yourself with OTC products like Monostat. I like Monostat one day ovule, works well for me.
Avatar n tn I've experienced a mild discomfort lately with a slight itching and burning sensation. There's a milky drainage too. I thought it could be a yeast infection from my spouse. I was informed that men can get yeast infection too. So is this what I'm experiencing or is there need for greater concern and how can I get relief or cured?
Avatar m tn Thanks for the reply. I did a quick research over the internet on yeast and fungal infection. It looks like i'm more likely to have yeast infection than fungal infection. I read in a few sites that some over the counter remedy for yeast infection for woman will work on men. I will try some of those and see if it works and hopefully it does. if not then ill have to see a doctor about it. In a way, I guess its better than having fungal infection.
Avatar f tn Oh and I should add that I tried this on my own because I was going from BV to yeast to BV to yeast, and I was tired of it. I am not giving any medical advice, nor suggesting that you try this without researching it for yourself first.
Avatar f tn However, because men have yeast in their bodies as well, they can become susceptible to an infection from yeast if he has sex with a woman who has an infection at the time and also, as a reaction from taking antibiotics.
Avatar m tn Wow, why would you use cortisone regularly? The rash is probably from sweating. Do you shower regularly? Using some corn starch there to prevent the sweating that is probably causing your problem in the armpits might save you some problems, as cortisone can cause a lot of problems. Mainly, at least in this post, you don't say why you think you have a yeast infection. Not to say it never happens, but men don't usually get them.
Avatar f tn If your partner HAS a yeast infection, then most definitely you could be contracting a yeast infection from him. Yeast infections aren't nearly as common in men as in women...have you asked him about it? He probably needs to go to his doctor, be diagnosed and treated if he has a yeast infection. Have you been taking antibiotics? That is the #1 cause of a yeast infection in most women. If you have...then what may be happening is...
Avatar f tn Well in man its under the balls and is called jock itch i get it from time to time.
