that day and ended very irritated...after I had yeast infection symptoms and treated myself twice for it (over the counter) and ended with a bacterial infection from which I went to the OB for. I ended back in to see her because I still felt irritated, she didn't see a discharge to indicate a problem and suggested I used a douche, a warm douche, I used a very hot one. Will I heal? Please help!!

whatever u do u should definitley not douche @ all it isnt good for the baby and could be pushing that mess all the way up there

Ugh, sorry to hear. Definitely sounds like a classic yeast overgrowth. So, you've taken the oral pills from the doctor? And used OTC products? you may need another round and if you are sexually active, your partner may need to be treated as well. Try probiotic yogurt, the new drinks they make or supplements. Cut back on sugar. Wear cotton panties and try to air out occasionally (maybe sleep without undies). But a doctor should be able to swab and confirm yeast and treat.

Okay, it started one day after being sick. I had never had a yeast infection before but along with this yeast infection, I seem to have cuts on the external part of my vagina. I fully agree with both Pink and JayBay, not to mention that many douches on the market can have some sketchy ingredients. Also I would never use those "cleansing wipes" either. The synthetic smell they have only confirms the chemical ingredient list on the box. Good old soap and water is the most important, along with a healthy diet to keep your body healthy. Also cotton/linen underwear if your best friend!!

i was told by doctor that it was because i had a bacterial infection. kinda the opposite of a yeast infection and if you treat it like a yeast infection it makes it even worse. i have stopped taking baths with alot of different types of soaps. and dont douche. your body should be able to take care of itself. when we douche we throw off the normal levels of yeast and bacteria making one be more than the other causing an infection. a course of flagyl helps.

Please go to the doctor. Any abnormal smell is a sign of an infection like BV or yeast. Also you really shouldn't use a douche. If it's an infection, it could push it into your cervix and make things worst.

Don't use douche it messes up your ph. Are you sexually active? Sometimes yeast infection can be a sign of another infection. That is upsetting that she told you to "just deal with it." Might want to try another doctor or a natural doctor --They will find the root of the problem not just the symptom of the problem. There is obviously something else throwing off you ph.

Bacterial infections don't usually itch but have a foul odor. What doctors do is swab a patient and look at it under a microscope. They then can immediately tell what it is. If a doctor looked and said it is normal, well. What can I say. You can get a different opinion.
