1733385 tn?1310451556 Is it possible to get yeast infection more then once? I first found out I had it when I was 16years old -- I put the cream on and it seemed to have helped. Now I am 20years old and it gets real itchy down there -- I always take showers pretty much everyday and clean that area while I am at it. Is it possible that I may have it yet again?
Avatar f tn But its not good to do it often as the vigan is a self cleansing organ and doing this can increase your chances on getting a yeast infection. My OB told me its not okay to use it during my pregnancy.
Avatar f tn So I had sex for the first time in a long time about 2 months ago and got a yeast infection quickly after. I now haven't had sex in about two weeks until the other night, with a new partner and I'm thinking I'm developing a yeast infection again. Could that be? and how do I stop having yeast infections to begin with?!
Avatar n tn My girl friend gets yeast and urinary tract infection quite often. we both checked for stds and we have none. she follows all the dr recommendations but she still gets it. we always have protected sex but is there a way to prevent these? do males get these infections?
12371737 tn?1424911173 You might get yeast from plastic being up against your skin from the pads? You can cut back on sugar (which feeds yeast) and take probiotics and eat yogurt.
Avatar n tn Shower instead of taking baths. And no unprotected sex. You can give him a yeast infection and he can pass it back to you. That does not make it an std. Yeast lives in everyone and has the potential to overgrow. I hope this helps. You didn't ask your doctor what he was treating you for? ALWAYS ask why you are putting things in your body.
Avatar f tn The yeast infection you probably had, but had sex with your husband anyways before getting treated and then you keep passing to each other. That happened with me and BF. But...if you have no signs of a yeast infection, then your husband is the one that needs to go to the doctor to get medicine to clear it up.
Avatar m tn Further, douching is an excellent way to entirely remove the normal, protective vaginal bacteria (especially lactobacillus), increasing susceptiblity to bacterial vaginosis, yeast, and other infections. Douching is an especially bad idea if someone has some other infection of importance. The very concept of lactobacillus overgrowth makes no sense, and neither does the acid irritation theory. The pH (acid measure) of the normal vagina is about 4.2 to 4.5.
Avatar f tn im 28 rys old, female and married. i've been suffering a yeast infection for almost 2 months now due to antibiotics. first the doctor gave me 7 day vaginal cream clotrimazole. But then, i still have the burning sensation after 7 days treatment. so i went to another doctor, and she gave me diflucan 150mg one pill only.i took it for the past 7 days. she said i would not have sex for 1 week. it will remains in my body for many days. but how come, i still have the burning sensation?
Avatar f tn Pre-pregnancy I flushed with a small amount of boric acid...always got rid of it. Yeast and bv is simply a sign that your vaginal pH is off allowing growth of the wrong type of bacteria. I can't lie and said I didn't do it once or twice during pregnancy, but I don't know if it's recommended..although all my kids came out fine. I used to be able to purchase powdered boric acid at the pharmacy counter at Wal-Mart, walgreens, etc. ...
Avatar n tn Ok..so I totally agree with you on the normal flow of the Ph...IM not a doucher ..I totally believe in baths an that had always worked for me...but since being pregnant after having sex i have a fishy odor an no std no yeast infection nothings continue to present this problem to my ob...but according to him everything is ok....so confused..
Avatar m tn I just went to the Doctor yesterday and confirmed via swab that I still have yeast. I still have rawness in 1 spot/ some anal itching. I've used 14 days clotrimazole, 4 doses diflucan, and now 7 days terazol. The doctor told me to do 1 more dose terazol and diflucan once a week. I don't think this will solve anything. I'm sure as soon as i stop the terazol it will come right back. BTW, I use student health services and although she is an MD, she is not a gyno. Any advice?
Avatar n tn ve followed her advice and do not encounter vaginal odor, yeast infections, nor bacterial infections. I suffered only one yeast infection in my lifetime and that was merely due to birth control pills I was prescribed temporarily, for treating endometriosis, that caused an inbalance. The birth control pills were discontinued per doctors instruction and never had another yeast infection. I hope this helps. Have a great day.
Avatar f tn You should not be using douche while pregnant. It severely increases your risk for infection, irritation of the cervix, and other issues. Your body regulates itself. Your vagina keeps itself clean and flushes itself put naturally. Douching changes the pH balance which isn't good for your health anyway and definitely isn't good for your baby.
Avatar f tn Trying douching and washing with lemon juice. For the put 1/4 lemon juice and the rest water. I had a terrible yeast infection that wouldn't go away and this git rid of it instantly.
Avatar f tn I went to the doctor before i got married because i had a foul odor and nasty discharge. According to him I had no sign of STD nor yeast infection. He gave me antibiotics and it stppoed a little. It came back a month after and same foul smell. It started itching this time so i went back to a lady doctor who did another test to check for yeast infection and came out perfect. She said the discharge is normal but its just too much.
Avatar n tn I asked my cousin, who is a CNA, and she said it may be a yeast infection. The itching was uncontrollable, so I would itch it. Which is bad, I think. I also had shaved my pubic hairs the day the symptoms began. After learning it may be a yeast infection I started cleaning myself very well. Using Summer's Eve feminine wash and wearing large underwear to give myself air. The next day, it felt alot better. Then when inspecting my vagina, I noticed a bump. It didnt hurt and was pretty small.
1569575 tn?1314424059 Before I address my problem: I DO NOT HAVE A DOCTOR, nor will I find one. I will not pay hundreds of dollars I don't have just to confirm what I already know (and what else, get Diflucan to kill my liver? Yeah, sounds fun.) Early this morning, I started feeling itchy and puffy in my vulva area and I know without a doubt that it's a yeast infection. I went and got the Monistat 1-day thing that comes with the cream -- which my mom recommended to me (she said it ALWAYS worked for her).
1331397 tn?1294039895 I researched the syptoms but nothing i found matches the infection to be exact. i had a yeast infection before and this does not feel like one. i am scared that this may be STD related beacause of other comlications i'va had in the past few months (see posts). Someone please help me!
Avatar n tn I am a little worried about my yeast infection. I have a question is it normal for it to be so itchy not just the vagina but the area around it and for some reason my anus itches too and seems to be pinker (inflamed). Is that normal?
Avatar n tn If there is a smell associated with the discharge, then you do have a yeast infection. Sometimes, over the counter products are ineffective at treating yeast infections. Keeping the area clean & douching after your periods can help to prevent them. Use moist toweletes intended for vaginal itching. It should help relieve your discomfort. I hope this information helps. If not, then please see your doctor for more information.
Avatar f tn I would stop douching. It messes with the natural balance of the bacteria within a woman's vagina and can lead to vaginal infections such as a yeast infection. Doctors advise against douching unless it's something they give you instruction to do for a medical reason. That being said, I'm not sure about whether or not it is possible. I think you would have felt it, if it did come out, as your cervix shouldn't be dilated at this point to allow it easy escape.
Avatar n tn It says not to as it changes the bacteria levels you have and aggravate yeast infections and just irritate in general. If I was you I'd speak to my doctor/midwife.
Avatar f tn You should not have a bad odor and it can indicate an infection such as yeast or an STD...which douching will not help and may make worse.
Avatar f tn Could be a vaginal yeast infection... douching may help to mitigate the odor.
Avatar f tn s not fishy like you would find with a bacterial infection, and I have been to the doctor and she said there were no abnormalities nor infections. I don't have the usual yeast infection symptoms of itching, disharge, etc. either. It's just this strong odor that's not pleasant. It's almost like a nasty old blood smell, which intensifies after intercourse. Can anyone tell me what the cause may be and how to get rid of it?
Avatar f tn Hello, It can be due to vaginal yeast infection.
