Common Questions and Answers about Yeast infection and dairy

yeast-infection

Avatar m tn A week ago my doctor gave me doxycycline hydrate to fight off an infection that is causing me to have a itchy urethra. My doctor did not do a swap test or anything but thought i had a bacterial infection. Present day ( a week of the medication) I still feel the itchiness and am thinking that I have a yeast infection. I've heard eating yogurt can help fight it, but what about dairy free yogurt? Would eating one container of dairy free yogurt help?
Avatar f tn Yes antibiotics always give me a yeast infection. I forgot to ask myself today I had a root canal and I'm on amoxicllin. Does anyone know if diflucan is safe to take during pregnancy? Creams haven't worked in a long time for me.
Avatar f tn I saw a naturopathic doctor and she told me I was intolerant to wheat, spelt and dairy and she told me what to take and I swear on my life it all went away even the itchy toes I had for 2 yrs as well. I have an over abundance of candida that no matter what I do just seems to thrive in my body. I am not a doctor I am just someone who has suffered with yeast infections for like 20 yrs!!! In canada they now sell over the counter dufflican and it works way better than the monastat, or canestan.
Avatar f tn We were back at her doctors late last week where I expressed how concerned I was and the doctor did an exam of her down there and said she was red and irritated and said it looks like vulvavaginitis and she thinks she may have a yeast infection due to the antibiotic?
20813145 tn?1519439336 But a doctor should be able to swab and confirm yeast and treat. Let us know how it goes (oh, and do NOT douche).
1094370 tn?1317134825 I got bad brain fog and bloated gut -- and I mean really bloated -- when I had a very bad systemic yeast infection. A bunch of MDs missed the diagnosis, so you have to watch out for yourself. Lyme does odd things to body metabolism, and when you add in antibiotics and are not taking probiotics, it can lead to problems. Read Burrascano. He's pretty detailed on the topic.
Avatar f tn Hi! I had been on birth control for 2 years until I stopped taking it in June 2018. Since then, I've been having an endless yeast infection. I have protected sex about 3x a week and it seems to get worse every time I do. I've already been to 3 doctors who all gave me creams and even oral medicine. Needless to say, none of them worked and the doctors simply said that I'd only waste money and time if I kept trying different creams. I have tried probiotics.
Avatar n tn The fissures have healed but it very uncomfortable and nothing seems to work. I have changed my diet and am on a strict no yeast, sugar, dairy, and fruit diet. I am very faithful about the diet and also do not use any kind of scented soap and wear cotton panties and loose clothing. I have also tried several homeopathic remedies such as coconut oil and tea tree oil, these have given me the most relief but it is not going away. My husband is deployed and so I am currently abstinent.
1386448 tn?1280896286 I have several questions about the treatment of a yeast infection. I was prescribed diflucan to take two times within 5 days of each other. I did not have any symptoms of a yeast infection - other than I was having pain during sex, so therefore I refrained from intercourse with my boyfriend until I seen a doctor.
Avatar f tn d still recommend you stay away from dairy, and yoghurt is dairy. The cultures in dairy are killed off when they pasteurize it. if you buy very high quality organic yoghurt, they usually add some back in, but not a lot. Yoghurt is more of a prebiotic, meaning food for probiotics, than a probiotic.
Avatar f tn In fact I will work hard on trying to avoid baths and soap. I will start using preseed. I started treating the yeast infection after the ovulation period. Did you ever experience low abdominal pain and sometimes low back pain? I have done so many tests: ultrasounds, food allergy prints, smear tests, high vaginal swabs tests ecc to see from where this pain is coming from.
600721 tn?1229100572 Going dairy free really helped me with vaginal issues, it stopped all my itching and also i only use a gentle cleanser called cetaphil in the shower to wash.
Avatar f tn Also, my esoniphil count is 14. I also get very cold all over and my hands get very cold after I eat anything with yeast, dairy etc. Both my father and uncle had suffered from fungal infections in their lungs so I am not sure if it is some type of fungal infection somewhere in my body. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar m tn Thrush is another word for yeast infection, eat yougurt, cottage cheese with active bacteria and this will not recour.
Avatar m tn These forms of dairy make it very hard to clear infections. Cranberry is pretty good for yeast and other microbial infections--especially urogenital infections. The unsweetened forms are more effective. If you're still having significant symptoms of infection, and these simple home remedies are not enough, see your doctor for antibiotics or antifungals. They could really help ED if it's caused by infection.
Avatar n tn Both toddlers butt cheks are filled with these bumps. At first I thought it was a yeast infection because it started on my two year old who does get them when she has dairy, now my 3 year has them too and no cream or remedy seems to be working. I've tried neosporin, triple antibiotic, butt paste, vagisil, air drying, soap and water, etc. Any ideas as to what this could be???? My husband also has 2-3 bumps too, his are gone now. The babies have hundreds...
Avatar n tn I also get the funny feeling in my forhead(tingling tight feeling) the thrush symptoms come and go in my mouth, dizzy spells and headaches and anxiety attacks when I have a yeast infection. My doctor has test for everything STD wise and I have come back clear. My test for yeast came back as heavy yeast. The yeast can cause all those symptoms you are having when it has overwhelmed your body like mine. I have been treating it with some pretty heavy stuff and it still comes back.
1094370 tn?1317134825 difficile bacterial infection from long term antibiotics are far more serious than the risks of a systemic yeast infection, and C. difficile is far more likely to occur than a yeast infection like I got. I'd suggest you just tuck the possibility in the back of your mind, and if your jeans get 4 sizes too small around the waist in a short period of time, think about this email. Otherwise, no problem!!! You sound like you're doing well -- so keep on keeping on. J.

Avatar m tn Hello, I am 21 years old and have a chronic yeast infection since I was 17. It all started after me and my girlfriend at the time gave me fellatio, without a condom. I was the first boy she ever was with and she was the first girl I was with. I received it and a few weeks later this started. My skin underneath my foreskin(I'm not circumsized) and that's one thing that bothers me. I don't want to be circumsized.
Avatar f tn d address that yeast infection -- it can make a huge difference. I got a systemic fungal (=yeast) infection from yeast-based probiotics I was on. My LLMD said he had never seen anyone get such an infection from probiotics, but I have read that some people have a genetic susceptibility to fungal infections (my family seems to have that) and MDs just don't take it seriously.
Avatar f tn This sounds like a yeast infection but it's really very common and nothing to be embarrassed about. I'd try to talk to your mother, she's your best source for help. Speaking as a mom, I'd so much rather my child be brave and come to me than talk to strangers on the internet. She can help you with getting something to make the itch go away. The drug store has over the counter things.
Avatar m tn Your fasting level is more than twice as high as the maximum normal fasting level of 99 mg/dl. In the past eight years it doesn't appear you are controlling and managing your diabetes... WHY?
Avatar f tn t recognize this until you are flat in bed in a hospital and almost dead from the infection. Natural medicine says that you have to stop feeding the Candidas. Candidas is the kind of yeast that women get too much of in the vagina, but anyone can get a systemic yeast infection, including men. You will definitely need to eat plenty of lean meat protein while on this Candidas diet. Again, this isn't the complete information.
4274823 tn?1388529098 I've never had a single fungal infection in my life. I wasn't 100% sure why and put it down to my love of saturated fat (anti fungal) but then I found out candida needs an alkaline environment to grow and I'm sure not alkaline! I'm acidic due to insulin resistance doing a number on my kidneys. Bicarbonate labs always low. My mother had severe systematic yeast infections however.
Avatar f tn A white coating on the tongue is a sign of Candida overgrowth or Yeast. Stay away from all sugars and products with yeast in them and get to the Health food store and buy Nature's Sunshine Products Candida Clear.
