Common Questions and Answers about Yaz and eye problems

yaz

Avatar n tn Hey i also started yaz recently, i started getting an eye rash, looks like little acne around my eye and it hurts. I stopped the birth control for a different reason and it went away when i started it again it got worse.
Avatar f tn With all the commercials you see on TV about YAZ and Yasmin and all the problems it has caused, i cant imagine that the positives out weigh the negatives. Currently I am on Levlen birth control, it has the minimum amount of estrogen and it works wonderful! But because everyone is different, i would suggest doing some research on birth control types and find whats best for her, then talk to a doctor about those types you have looked over. Good Luck!
776095 tn?1243146888 I just started my yaz again after being off it for 3 months. and I just got my new contacts on Thursday. WEll last night I was wearing them and they were really dry and blurry. I read the little booklet that comes with the Yaz and It says to contact your doctor if you can't see using your contacts with your birth control. Why is this? Is it just because they become dry? Will eye drops help this?
Avatar f tn Here is a little something I pulled up while researching yaz problems Yaz and Yasmin are different from other birth control pills available in the United States because they contain drospirenone, a progestin which can increase blood potassium levels and increase the risk of: * Heart Attack * Stroke * Blood Clots: Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Pulmonary Embolism (PE) * Gallbladder Problems * Kidney Damage or Kidney Disease * Cardiac Arrhythmias * Sudden Death Call y
Avatar n tn I am a 49 year old female in perimenopause. I have a history of migraines since starting my menses at age 13 years old. Been in perimenopause for the last 4 years. Four years ago began having panic attacks-one occurred during visit with GYN. I was place on low dose niravan for anxiety.
Avatar n tn I am on my second week of Yaz-put on it for really bad PMS and extremely heavy periods. (When my period came back after having my daughter and nursing her for a year, my PMS symptoms got progressively worse each month.) Now, on YAZ, I am having mood swings from extreme calm to extreme anxiety (close to full blown panic attack) and back again. I am easily irritated and have had heart palpatations since the second day on this medicine.
Avatar f tn Hi, I just switched from Yaz .. back to yasmin. Yaz was horrible!!!!! I was very very depressed while taking yaz.. along with many other things. I switched to Yasmin because I was taking it before the Yaz and I had a great experience with it... So far I haven't had any problems with switching.
Avatar f tn I agree. And Yaz (recalled and undergoing a class-action suit in the US.) caused myself & my daughter to experience severe clotting, blood-loss, resultant anemia, & creation of serious plumbing problems in an old building that had been purchased via donations & grants for use as a community arts centre. Suffice it to say, I pray that they Never realise it was mostly due to That, and not faulty pipes - I couldn't ever afford to repay the damage and repairs that were undertaken...
737515 tn?1252552423 I have had severe anxiety problems before and they are terrible. I am sorry that you are having trouble with them & finding a birth control that works. I would NOT recommend YAZ...it's the only birth control that has had truly debilitating effects on my mood. I've experienced depression, anxiety, headaches, weird breathing/yawning side effects, you name it...
Avatar f tn s causing problems, please switch to another form of the pill or another method! Yaz has had many problems, as it has high levels of certain synthetic hormones, which can negatively affect many people. I'd say get off of Yaz as soon as possible.
Avatar f tn I AM NOW SEEING ALOT OF LAWSUITS BEING ADVERTISED FOR YAZ....SIDEEFFECTS BEING BLOOD CLOTS, PULMONARY ISSUES AND SO ON ....HAS ANYONE HAD ISSUES WITH YAZ AND WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT....WHAT CAN I ALSO DO FOR THE MOODS...ANY SUGGESTIONS...
Avatar m tn I have been on yaz for a year and I have noticed that since then I have been suffering from anxiety, panic attacks and depression. This is not like me at all and have even gone to the point of therapy. A major side effect of the pill is depression and I know this is what is causing this. Last week I had switched to the brand Loett to see if it makes a difference. I know this could take a few months to notice change but now I'm considering coming off it all together.
Avatar f tn Hi, YAZ birth control pill causes cholelithiasis. According to studies done, YAZ birth control pill increases the risk of gallbladder disease only marginally. But if you are symptomatic, like if you have pain in the upper right quadrant or if you develop nausea or jaundice, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. Regards.
Avatar f tn I have been on Yaz for over a year and haven't had a period and hope to not have another one! :) It is very healthy not to have a period due to contraceptives such as these. I was on the Depo shot for 16 years and never had a period during that entire time! I had to stop that because it was causing a little bone-loss, however, with many calcium supplements that is now back to normal. I am a super healthy 35 year old. I have a child.
Avatar n tn I'm on YAZ, and so is my roommate, and we both have trouble with being dry. I actually had to buy lube because it was such an issue. I only switched from Seasonele because of the money, but I'm thinking of going back because of the Yaz side effects. I didnt have any on Seasonele, and I found out that its the same thing as Seasonique (except Seasonique has hormones in the "placebo" pills) and Seasonique is covered by a state program... hopefully everything will work out!
Avatar m tn Hi everyone, my name is Megan. I was on Yaz for about 2 years off and on. I started taking Yaz when I was about 17 years old to regulate my menstrual cycles. In the beginning when I was taking it, I had lost weight and noticed that i barely has problems with my cysts on my ovaries. It seemed to have shrunken them.I was doing fine for about a year, and stopped taking the pill.
Avatar f tn Have you had your Potassium and Calcium and Vit. D levels checked? Yaz and Yasmine are not solely estrogen based and may cause elevated Potassium levels. I had low Vit. D levels and had muscle cramping and tingling from the low level. Hope you are feeling better soon.
Avatar n tn I apologize up front if this is in the wrong place or if someone has already asked about this. I'm just scared after reading some stuff... I have kind of been on my period for about 2 1/2 weeks, except the last week and a half have been spotting. I've been on Yaz for over a year now...for an ovarian cyst....and this is very unusual. Also, for no explainable reason, my lower back has been killing me the past couple of days. It's absolutely excruciating.
Avatar f tn How can you gain weight if you have lost your appetite? I know that everytime I have lost my appetite I have lost a tremendous amount of weight. In the book that comes with Yaz it says that spotting may occur. Some of these pills work for some and some don't work for others. I have used Yaz and like it the best and my friend used it and it made her sick. It's too bad they didn't have a way to plug in your information and out pops an answer of what pill you should use.
Avatar f tn Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe. I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill. The only thing that I have done probably incorrectly with pill use is only a couple of times I took it maybe an hour and a half/two hours late. I’ve spotted quite often- not as badly as before.
Avatar f tn I personally would not reccommend you take Yaz since I have heard it causes problems conceiving. I took yaz for about 7 mos and currently have been unable to conceive as of the past 5 mos.
Avatar f tn ve been taking yaz for about a month now (almost done with the white pills) and my period started monday.. since then i have had serious cramps!!! i also have PCOS and i'm taking Metformin, which is causing alot of diareah and cramping and nausia.. so right now this period is sheer hellish... from nausia, indegestion, lack of appitite, diareah, and a period from hell.. this week has been the worst yet :'( hope life is going better for you sister!!!
Avatar f tn Since I had been taking the Yaz for almost two months straight (I skipped my period by not taking the placebo pills) do you think this changes the possibility of me being unprotected?
Avatar f tn So im 21y/o no health problems what so ever. I have been on yaz for a yr and i love it. i havnt had any problems with it at all and lucky to have no side effects. I have a vacation coming up soon and unfortunately i am scheduled to start my period at that time. I was wondering if anyone has ever skipped the 4 placebo pills and just gone straight into the next pack, non stop so they wont have their period. Does it work? I really need to know.
