yasmin and female hair loss

I have been in menopause since I was 23 yr old, now i am 29. I still don't have the swing of it. I was given "yasmin" to help me with my menopause. I am balding and losing so much hair its scary. It is now noticeable and I don't know what to do! I am always tired, depressed and my skin is starting to droop. I would be perfectly fine with aging naturally at the appropriate age but I'm not!

But I thought I would ask, is anyone that has PCOS symptoms (high testosterone, insulin resistance) and on BCP on any other BCP besides Yasmin, and does it control PCOS symptoms? Have you seen any side effects?

So I hear (and I have also read) that yasmin is AWESOME for women with PCOS.. Any comments? I am about to switch from alesse to yasmin but I am nervous because there have been many birth control pills that give me uncontrollable mood swings, anxiety and depression. Alesse has been okay for me, not the best, but ok. Does anyone else experience this when they take birth control pills? I think that it is related very closely to PCOS.

m ready, is there an alternative pill to birth control that will combat the hair loss. It is the yasmin birth control that is stopping my hair from falling out and helped regrow hair. So I was wondering if there is medication that contains whichever ingredients are contained in birth control that has aided in my hair regrowth that I could take so that I can go off the pill when I'm ready to get pregnant and not have my hair fall out again.

Has anyone had hair loss post tx, like 1 yr. later. I am having alot of hair loss in the past 3 weeks. I am also wondering if it is o.k. to take hair vitamins. Not currently on tx. I take fish oil, garlic, vit D and calcium. I think since I am not on tx. that this is O.K. Am I wrong?

My dermatologist prescribed steroids and the rash went down, but the itchy scalp and flaking and hair loss are still going on - three weeks later. Thyroid hair loss would be all over - as in thinning throughout the hair for general thinning, while pattern baldness would be thinning in certain spots. At least, that is what happened to me.

buy silk or satin pillow cases because cotton ones tent to be rough and can be worse with the hair loss...use mile soap on your hair...its going to happen...

I'm healthy, young, and on Yasmin so my period is very regular and consistently on time with no breakthroughs. I haven't missed a pill or taken it a minute late all month but... earlier I had sex and right in the middle I started spotting... I didn't think too much of it but once we were done, I noticed that I was bleeding like a light period flow with bright red blood (like from a cut, not like period blood).

I have seen a local Derm who said there was no scarring on my scalp and no real skin issues associated with my hair loss. In 2004 I took a course of Roaccutane for acne and noticed some thinning after the course finished. I was told that this was a known side effect, but that the hair would grow back.
