But the past few days, some hives have started to come back. I have been taking benadryl along with the xyzal as needed. I was wondering if I could take 2 xyzal a day instead o 1. The only other medication that I am on is ortho cyclin birth control. Would I be okay if I took a 5 mg of xyzal early in the morning and then another in the late afternoon? Thanks in advance!
She can get some steroid cream if the rashes last for a while (it makes them go away faster) and if she gets itchy, something like Xyzal, Zyrtec or Benadryl works well. The steroid cream and Xyzal are by prescripion...Zyrtec and Benadryl are OTC
If she finds she's having a problem with most of the commerical soaps, making her own plant-based, oil soap might be a good option. If she wants more info about that, leave a note on my page and I'll be happy to tell her more.

No one can figure out what it is. I have taken everything from Benadryl, Xyzal, Zrytec, Singulair, Claritin, and Hydroxyzine. Nothing has worked. They have done blood work for lupus and many other blood tests. All came back negative. They have started taking me off one drug at a time, now I am only on Xyzal, Singulair and 2 Hydroxyzine HCL 25 daily. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do or suggest what my doctor may need to test for. The only known allergy I have is fish.
I have tried 2 different antihistamines separately, with 2 days in between. The first xyzal, this worked fantastic in reducing the redness in my face/neck, but then I began getting a rash on my elbows and knees. This seemed like an allergic reaction so I stopped. Went back to benadryl, the rashes on my elbows and knees went away but my face got inflamed. So 2 days later I tried 180mg Allegra, and the same thing happened! My face/neck calmed down but the rashes on my elbows knees came.
I have suffered from severe nasal congestion since first few weeks of pregnancy(23 weeks now). My dr has given me the okay to use benadryl, xyzal ( which is an allergy medication), robitussin Dm, and anything tylenol is perfectly fine. I have used afrin as well. This is my fifth pregnancy and i habe had a cold with every one. Ive taken at least one of these at some point. I can tell you my children have all come out healthy. These medications are class b which is completely safe.

I would tell your doctor what you just shared in your post. That if you do not take the tablet for more than a day, you experience itchiness all over your body especially on your arms and legs. Then you can ask your doctor if this is a withdrawal symptom . It is never a good idea to just stop a medication cold turkey as it were ie.
the doctor put me on prednisone 10mg and i have only taken 4 tablets so far and i do not feel any relief-is there another med that would work faster? and what is xyzal 5mg?
I was diagnostic with anemia like a month ago. Im really scared cause i have never in my life had hives until halloween 2008. At first i thought it was just a rash but then it started going all over my body. My ankles, knees, and elbows were really swollen. They are still kind of itchy, burn, and hurt. I went to the doctor he gave me some pills called xyzal.
If they are bite like lesions and spreading then scabies needs to be ruled out. Wash the areas several times with fresh water and do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.
Also use mild steroid cream and good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin.
I did have sinious problems most my life but I just lived with it. Then I went in July and had surgery to clean out my sinius, All seemed to go will, I do remember that while in the hospital I had some reaction to something, I didnt ask but I think my blood presure went up after taking morphen or some pain killer, I was on antibotic after surgery and one couese later in summer after a check up found a sinious infection.

Aveeno active naturals fragrance free with natural colloidal oatmeal. In a tan bottle with a green cap. Get this and apply it after your shower. Remember that dry skin itches more. And this lotion actually provides some relief by creating a thin barrier for the allergens too.
Spot try another thing too. Why you start itching someplace put 90% rubbing alcohol in that area. Hopefully your eyes or bunghole don't itch cause that is gonna burn like hell! Joking.
I have had all the same symptoms you were explaining. The doctor told me it could have something to do with the allergies in the air and my body is reacting to it. He put me on a medication called methylprednisolone, along with an allergy pill called XYZAL. The medicine defiantly helped what rash there was and the itching, but after finishing the methylprednisolone my body started itching again. I am going to call on monday to see what other options I need to do.
I have had a problem with hives all over my body for a month or more now. My hands start to itch first, then the bottom of my feet, then my scalp even the inside of my mouth itches sometimes. It has been 5 miserable weeks....I am on hydroxyzine pills which make me sleepy so I can only take at night to relieve itching/pinching. I have used multiple lotions. I called manufacturer who really were no help.
I took XYZal for 4 days for my Fall allergies. Once I stopped, I developed this maddening itching all over!!!! I went to my dermatologist who prescribed hydroxyzine capsules. The meds help somewhat....but also make me tired so I can only take at night!!! I have been suffering for FIVE weeks. Any idea when I can expect this reaction to end?? Or at least some tips on method of relief? PLEASE!!
