Common Questions and Answers about Xyzal and singular taken together

xyzal

Avatar f tn I have been dealing with hives since 2000. All i have to do is be in the sun and i break out. I have tried Zyrtec, Allegra, Singular and now i'm on Xyzal. The Xyzal i only tried one time and woke up the next morning feeling like i was drunk and hit by a train. It left a horrible taste in my mouth. I am so sick of these hives. I'm getting married in August and have a terrible farmers tan and i am asking for any advice on what to do.
Avatar f tn No I just started the xyzal and Singulair 2 months ago and I've taken Concerta for 6 years now. The fever has been for 1.5years. I also asked allergist and she said that shouldn't be causing it. The cough we think is from allergy drainage because I live in the south and allergies are bad. The blurry vision started couple months after the new meds and Dr's don't think that there is any connection there, but thanks for the comment. Let me know if you have anymore suggestions! !
Avatar f tn That's a lot of Xyzal. I take 5mg/day and it's the most beneficial antihistamine I've ever taken. I've taken 10mg before and it knocked me out...lol. If I feel I need more antihistamine, I add Benadryl, but it's not often that I need to do that. My answer: I've heard of people taking 10mg/day for hives and severe itching. I'm not sure how the dosing would be, but I can't imagine taking that much of it in the morning/daytime because it's so sedating.
Avatar f tn I take the medication singular to help me breathe I also use an inhaler is it still okay to take my pills?
Avatar f tn Ask you doctor about the Cymbalta one. I had one but it was only for one month. And there are really good one for Xyzal, Astepro and Omnaris. The others, I don't know. Skmedlin's advice was good.
Avatar n tn Hello there, Welcome to the allergy forum. I see you joined Med help this month. You say you have taken the xyzal tablets for 5 years. That's a long time to be taking a medication. Here is what I would suggest. I would make an appointment with the doctor who prescribed the xyzal tablets for you. I would tell your doctor what you just shared in your post. That if you do not take the tablet for more than a day, you experience itchiness all over your body especially on your arms and legs.
Avatar m tn My daughter has taken singular since she was 3, she's now 19. I'm really worried about long term effects....she's in college now and after a year of sinus problems we've taken her off gluten, dairy, eggs and soy and she is doing much better. Just recently we had trouble getting a renewed rx down to her in school and she's been 'out' of singular for a week.
Avatar f tn can armour, nexium and allegra 24 hour be taken together together in the morning on an empty stomach
Avatar f tn I have been on many type of antibiotics, use a saline rinse 2-3 times a day, take Nasonex, Astepro, Xyzal, Singulair and headache medicine. Some days are better than other but most days are constant pain, numbness, throbbing. A cat scan showed fluid in maxillary sinuses and some ethnoid sinusitus but my ENT surgeon shows no infection and is now considering a tubinate "snip" as he calls it to because my left turbinate is a bit large.
Avatar f tn Last week I was prescribed Armour thyroid to be taken 3 times per day, with the first dose to be taken in the morning together with a low dose of synthroid. Has anyone heard of this? I spoke to two pharmacists and they both report they have never seen it prescribed that way. Please help!!!
Avatar f tn I also noticed an exzema rash under my arms and inside my left elbow. The rash under my right arm and left elbow is quite itchy. Why is this happening?
Avatar m tn I was wonder how Singular works and if it will help me with itchy allergies and a nose that is always stuffy?
Avatar f tn In addition to my current advair, singular, xyzal and nasocort. The doctor added in a short burst of prednisone (medrol pack) and then wants me to start asthmanex when the medrol pack is finished to break the bronchiospasm cycle. She wants to see me in two weeks. Does that sound like a lot of medications? I have found that upper repsiratory stuff and viruses have triggered bronchiospasms, wheezing, coughing etc for years.
Avatar f tn He told me to take one a day but i been taking them for two days and i feel a little better and some has gone away but my hands and feet got very swollen and hurtful. i dont know what it is and its scaring me because I've never been the type of person that has allergic reactions?
Avatar n tn He said if itching goes away after four days of using the XYZAL, then I will try Niaspin and see how my body will react. Now, after using XYZAL for two days, my body is still itching, there is no diffrence yet. I got two more pills of XYZAL. I'll wait two more days and I'll publish my comment about this medicine. Thanks for your help.
Avatar m tn if someone would have guided me in the 1st place i would have seen a therpaist or psychologist!! everyone said you need to see a pdoc..well its taken me 3 yrs to find one that takes the medicare card..and they hate the paperwork..its like they discrimanate agaisnt me cuz of something that i cant control the states policy..so this whole time my gpdoc took good care of me.. to keep me above water i cant see a pdoc saying this is what you are or not right off the bat!!
Avatar n tn No one can figure out what it is. I have taken everything from Benadryl, Xyzal, Zrytec, Singulair, Claritin, and Hydroxyzine. Nothing has worked. They have done blood work for lupus and many other blood tests. All came back negative. They have started taking me off one drug at a time, now I am only on Xyzal, Singulair and 2 Hydroxyzine HCL 25 daily. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do or suggest what my doctor may need to test for. The only known allergy I have is fish.
454221 tn?1259445739 What about dry mouth. Has he increased his liquid intake due to the other side effects? We've never taken Xyzal at our house so I'm not sure of all the side effects. I do know that Zyrtec makes my children raving lunatics and that side effect was not on the bottle.
Avatar n tn I had taken in the past it with no effect, so it took multiple tests (down the stomach, xray, cat scan, etc) with no results, then I looked on line for symtoms of adverse reactions to Siingular and went offl. I had had bad symtoms since December 23, and kept taking Singular until last week. My question is will I go back to normal, my stomack feels like it was streched out, Also did I do damage to my liver and pancreas.
Avatar n tn Singular made me itch from head to toe. Doctor decided that the best idea was to take me off the zirtec I've taken for a couple of years, and the itching got worse. Stopped the singular, and started taking my zirtec and itching stopped.
Avatar n tn My 8 year old son has freqent sinus, strep and ear infections. He had his first strep throat at 8 months. He has had tubes in his ears twice. He is on antibiotics several times each year. He is on his 4th antibiotic in the last 9 weeks (they just aren't working). He had his tonsils removed two years ago and still gets strep two or three times a year. We have gone to an allergist - he has no real allergies to speak of, only a mild dust allergy.
Avatar f tn I might just use these instead of the Singular. No, I tried the Symbicort and could not tolerate it well. I have tried other long term meds but really feel best just using the steriods.
Avatar f tn (not smoker/drinker/no tb/whooping cough/child) I stopped Singular/Xyzal,, I felt, not working,. Do you think I should stay one them, would that help?... I went to Col.Presy. in NY, who said "chronic sinusitis should not feel like this. He tried injecting my ganglion nerve after scoping, touched tip of nerve, I felt same burning pain I feel all the time in my nose..never felt that before from other ent's scoping.. Lidocaine did not help,2 x's.injections If it did numb it..
Avatar m tn I also had developed a non-itchy rash about 8 weeks post exposure on the dorsa of my palms which i showed a dermatologist and he said it is no way an HIV rash and gave me a lotion and xyzal (anti-allergic) tablet. I had xyzal for 8 days and applied the lotion and the rash went away.
Avatar n tn the doctor put me on prednisone 10mg and i have only taken 4 tablets so far and i do not feel any relief-is there another med that would work faster? and what is xyzal 5mg?
Avatar f tn ENT said eustachian tube dysfunction due to allergies (tested positive for various inhalent allergies) and said to use Xyzal and Flonase. Xyzal made me too sleepy so stopped, and Flonase has done nothing. ENT said it would take Flonase a month to clear up the ETD. The constant ear popping wouldn't bother me if it weren't accompanied by the lightheadedness and brain fog, which sometimes by the end of the day turns into a very bad headache and then disappears.
