Xopenex vs albuterol heart rate

Common Questions and Answers about Xopenex vs albuterol heart rate

xopenex

Avatar n tn t supposed to make your heart race as much..I am on Xopenex after my doc switched me from albuterol due to my heart arrhythmias (albuterol made them much worse) and it has been much better for me as long as I dont take it more than 3 times a day. Also, Atrovent (Ipatropium bromide) can cause a rapid heart rate too. TAlk to your doc about your symptoms, there should be something he or she can do to help minimize your symptoms (even change them...
212161 tn?1599427282 Xopenex is similar to Albuterol and may cause palpitations and arrhythmias. Flovent and Asmanex are steroid inhalers, both of which are used for asthma.
1987536 tn?1337916244 He actually switched me from advair to symbicort, and from albuterol to xopenex. 24 weeks now and my little girl is doing just fine. They do need us to give them oxygen, so take your meds if you need to.
212161 tn?1599427282 The quick relief inhalers like albuterol will have an adrenergic effect and cause the heart rate to increase temporarily. My HR increase usually lasts about 15 minutes. I see that Flovent and Advair are both steroidal inhalers.
Avatar f tn All of them Xopenex is the only one that does not go by albuterol. No generics because of the cfc ban. We do have generic albuterol neb solution. The Xopenex doesn't cause the shakiness that the other versions do and can be more effective. I wonder if that is what part of my problem has been? hmmmmm... I am going to ask for a sample of Xopenex to try for odor exposures again.
Avatar f tn does albuterol increase the heart rate in children, because after i gave it to my son i noticed that his heart was beating really hard a fast
1315759 tn?1274044788 my asthma is not under control, at work it always bothers me. i am on the albuterol pump plus the breathing machine, which both does no good. what other inahlers can i use? or the breathing treatments? at the hospital, they give me xopenex, which works ok, not really good for me. the last time i went to the hospital, the therapist gave me atrovent and xopenex, with 4 doses in one. i told them it was making me too jittery, way more than normal and nobody listened.
Avatar f tn She has some test at cardiologist and then they were going to monitor her heart for 30 days at which time the heart pounding subsided for about 2 years She is now going through an aweful ordeal When the drs take her pulse ox it is at 98 or 100 percent and yet she feels as though she can't breath .

1344892 tn?1276541735 my blood pressure was high but then was taken again immediately after and was deemed o.k. i just want my heart rate to calm down as it is making me feel very faint and i also have a nasty aching in the bottom of my ribs on the left hand side and i am finding it difficult to breathe at times. my neck has also started to ache. i did take my salbutamol reliever inhaler when this first happened but found it made me feel worse. i have not taken my reliever for 3 days now.
Avatar f tn Hi, Asthma cannot worsen angina but over use of inhaler albuterol can lead to low potassium levels in the blood, which in turn can cause palpitations, arrhythmias, irregular beats etc. So if you are experiencing frequent attacks of asthma, you should try to prevent triggering agents which cause asthma and also get evaluated by a pulmonologist for correction of dose of polemicist for preventing further attacks of asthma. Hope this helps. Best.
Avatar f tn This would eliminated the LABA which typically cause the jittery, rapid heart rate side effects people object to. Depending on how severe your asthma is or how reactive you are, you may be able to control your asthma with allergy medication (possible including shots) and an ocassionally use of your rescue inhaler. Hoping you feel better soon.
Avatar f tn My symptoms of attack are severe shortness of breath, high heart rate, and the immediate need to urinate. Does anyone have anything similar to this? I have not been advised supplemental oxygen as of yet. Over the years I have been misdiagnosed numerous times and fear the scan of my lungs and the arterial ultrasound of my neck may not have addressed the problem. Any advice is appreciated.
Avatar f tn I wrote in to this website when my son was 4 years old and started with transient motor tics, right after having two back-to-back illnesses (with a high temperature) and also after being treated with albuterol for severe asthma. His tics have not been as bad as they were the first time he started having them, but are still present at times. He is also growing out of asthma.
1754037 tn?1327886811 Has anyone taken their albuterol inhaler thru out ur pregnancy??? I'm a bit worried if it is safe for my baby! I been taking it since it's the only thing I can take when I can't breath. I just need some re assurance that it is safe & wondering if any1 else pregnant & taking albuterol inhaler.
Avatar m tn these may cause elevation in blood pressure, heart rate and result in CNS stimulation/excitation. Albuterol may also increase risk of arrhythmias. Such effects are quiet negligible when given by inhalational route. Drug should be taken when necessary and should not be repeated in short interval. Fluticasone mainly acts as anti inflammatory drug and has no action on heart. Hence, these drugs can be safely given in patients with Atrial fibrillation.
Avatar n tn Albuterol isn't the only rescue inhaler. Xopenex is also and it doesn't make you hyper or nervous like albuterol. I have battled copd for 15 years and I quit albuterol in favor of Xopenex inhaler and nebs.
Avatar f tn I have arrhythmias and do use albuterol for my asthma. Albuterol is an adrenergic medication. It acts similarly to adrenalin on the body. When using an inhaler, you'll probably have a slightly accelerated heart rate and feel your heart beating (palpitations) for about 10-15 minutes. You mentioned a machine. Are you using a nebulizer at home? Again, albuterol is usually used in the nebulizer and it takes about 15 minutes to finish the breathing treatment.
Avatar f tn I take albuterol, a fast acting inhaler, that does raise my heart rate for about 10-15 minutes. A normal response to the medication. Since Flovent is a steroid, it shouldn't normally raise your rate. However, you may have a sensitivity to that particular medication. You should talk to your doctor about it, see if s/he can prescribe a different one for you.
Avatar m tn Apparently you have asthma or some breathing problems already since you are taking Xopenex and Symbicort. Xopenex is similar to regular albuterol which is a fast acting inhaler for asthma (something I use). It will increase your heart rate for awhile after you use it. For me, that means about 10-15 minutes. I also get shaky, jittery hands. But it eases off. The Symbicort is used when asthma is not well controlled yet.
Avatar f tn Albuterol can cause your heart to speed up after your take it which can cause some of the symptoms you are feeling if this is happening after you have a treatment. If not associated with the albuterol, there is a couple possible causes. In most cases, palpitations in young people are due to extra heart beats like premature ventricular or atrial contractions which are generally benign and just variations of normal.
Avatar m tn I recently read online about Heart Rate Turbulence. This is where the heart rate speeds up after a premature beat then returns to a normal heart rate. Is anyone familiar with this?
Avatar n tn I had a stress echo cardiogram a year ago, and that was OK. I believe the incident the other day, where my heart rate was 135 after a 20 minute walk, was mainly due to anxiety. Today I went for a 20 minute walk, and my heart rate was 100 shortly after getting back. So 100 vs. 135 bpm is what anxiety can do!
