Avatar f tn ll get used to the inhaled medicine better or later he will reduce the number of times you need to take the inhaler---or give you an inhaler that delivers less medicine and doesn't have this effect. I hope it's better by now.
Avatar f tn Im just a little concerned because i used it once so far, and i know that sometimes the side effects can be really severe (ive been having REALLY bad drowsiness, but thats just annoying not much of a big deal) but it also seemed that the inhaler actually made my chest pains worse. It just made it seem like i had this huge gulp of air caught in my chest.. like i needed to burp but couldnt make it come out.
Avatar n tn Maybe they are not noticable at first, but anything that makes one breathe will have side effects. Pharmaceutical drugs do not cure. In fact some of the side effects can cause one to wheeze more. I take this medication as little as possible. I also noticed that as soon as we turned our gas heater on in November I started to wheeze like I never have before. We are now using electric heat and I am actually improving.
Avatar m tn I heard that symbicort has less long term side effects but after over a year my FEV1 scores haven't improved at all on it
Avatar m tn Thanks, With Ventolin getting some side effects and thus stooped its use after 5-6 days.
Avatar f tn Advair is a combination medication. It has an ihaled corticosteroird (ICS) and a long acting beta2 agonist (LABA - long acting broncho dilater). It is not recommended that you stop taking the ICS all at once. It is a steroid, although it doesn't have the same side effects of oral steroids. The ICS is really the primary treatment for asthma. After you are feeling better, you can discus trying an ICS only medication like Asmanex or Alvesco with your doctor.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a 6 year old son with autism and asthma who has currently started on the Xopenex for the asthma control. He has become extremely hyperactive and somewhat aggressive with the Xopenex, and I am wondering if there are any other meds that wouldn't have this side effect.
Avatar f tn I was born with eczema and I started to have bronchospasm few years ago. The doc said it might be asthma and prescribed me with salbutamol. However, i found that I don't have the common syptoms as asthmatic people .e.g wheezing or coughing, and it doesn't disturb my sleeping as well. I just feel the bronchi contract and chest tightness which go away after few minutes later without taking the inhaler. I've taken the inhaler before but i found it no use, so i didn't use it anymore.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with Bronchiolar asthma all my life (22 years), My inhalers have not been a bother with me worked perfect helped me so much expect the Blue one which made my Asthma worse.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed an inhaler about a week ago, and it doesn't seem to be helping with my breathing problems. It feels good and works for about a few seconds after using it then it doesn't make a difference at all. And the other day it actually made my symptoms A LOT worse (I could barley breath for the whole evening and felt pressure). Is there a reason for all of this or should I just switch brands?
Avatar m tn HAVE YOU CONSIDERED HAVING AN ABLATION. I HAVE HAD TO HAVE TWO, BUT IT HAS MADE IT WHERE I DON'T HAVE ANY REAL BAD PROBLEMS WITH SVT ANYMORE. MY NEW ASTHMA DR CHANGED MY INHALER TO XOPENEX. IT HAS LESS SIDE EFFECTS ON THE HEART. IT DOESN'T MAKE IT BEAT AS FAST AS PROVENTHIL DOES AND DOESN'T MAKE ME NEAR AS GITTERY. THERE ARE ALSO SOME MEDS YOU CAN TAKE TO KEEP SVT (TACARDIA) UNDER CONTROL.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Ventolin HFA and Asmanex. I took these medications and had a lot of side effects from both medications. The side effects felt worse than the actual symptoms. I continued taking the Asmanex and did not really notice any difference in my breathing which further leads me to believe that I may not have asthma. I have been prescribed Xoponex HFA and Flovent but I am afraid to take them because of the side effects that I experienced last time.
Avatar n tn i'm using aerocort inhaler(each actuation deliversBelcomethasone Dipropionate-50mcg;Levosalbutamol Tartrate-50mcg;Absolute alcohol-7.4% v/v suspended in propellant HFA)....i feel problem in breathing 2-3 times a day and i take a dose and taking it for 7-8 years and also have much mucus developed....but "i feel drowsy and headache after taking each dose"..i have to take a light sleep to gain the freshness...what should i do, should i change my inhaler or consult doc.????
Avatar f tn First did they give you an inhaler to help bring down inflammation such as flovent. Second try a different HFA inhaler my sister found that the method of distribution is best from Ventilin Our pulomologist said that he has had many patients complain that they do not get the relief they had before the inhalers were switched to HFA and he says Ventilin is the best for this.
Avatar f tn No where does the company mention any of these side effects for albuterol. Being a healthcare professional i was already thinking the worst. If you get this message please respond. I need to know these tics will go away. I am very much into homepathic treatment at home so i have started giving her extra calcium magnesium and b vitamins. It definetely subsides but takes a week or so to fully go away.
Avatar f tn when i was training for half marathon last year, i had shortness of breath, so extensive testing of my lungs was done and i was told due to 20 plus years of asthma small airways in my lungs have narrowed and i was put on Advair 132/21 hfa inhaler. it helped open up my lung and i was told by more than one doctor to take this inhaler every day like people take blood pressure medicine everyday. so I did that ( i was on a blood pressure medicine too at the time 20mg of benicar).
Avatar f tn I liked your quote without any exertion I can breathe normally...whatever the hell that is. What is normal when you have been short of breath so long. I totally agree. I myself I have COPD as well. My guess would be if it is day 5 without the inhalers, then they should be out of your system. I too had problems with Advair and Spiriva. I was diagnosed in Oct. 07 with moderate COPD. Was put on Advair, Spiriva and ProAir as my rescue inhaler.
Avatar m tn I have called my doctor numeroud times for the shortness of breath and to see if there is something I can switch to that would not have the same effects with the fatigue and shortness of breath, she assured me that the Bystolic does not exhibit those effects and it could not be the Bystolic doing this to me that the medication has no side effects that I need to be worried about. Yet online all of what I am feeling are stated as side effects of the medication.
746512 tn?1388807580 I was just wondering if anyone here gets side effects from taking albuterol. I have only had the inhaler for about 2 weeks and notice very painful calf muscle cramps that occur a couple hours after taking the inhaler (suppose to pre-treat for a lecture hall that really bugs me). They seem to be getting worse with every dose (only noticed the last couple of times of using it), today my legs are still very sore and crampy and I took the dose 10 hours ago.

7748835 tn?1393868668 Hello. I'm 16, 5'6 and 118lbs. I've had asthma since I was little and I just got a diagnosis that it was moderate persistent asthma but has worsened since I've had that diagnosis so I'm sure it's severe now. I'm on Advair 250/20 as a preventor and I have Ventolin HFA as a rescue inhaler. I take Advair twice a day, but sometimes forget to take it. I don't believe it helps prevent any symptoms or attacks whatsoever.
1737159 tn?1316672635 I am not saying to stop using inhalers I am saying that there are known side effects! All prescription meds have some side effects. (I am not against prescriptions meds, I have quite a few different scripts for my health issues and I am thankful for how much they have helped me).
