Common Questions and Answers about Wrinkles on roof of mouth

wrinkles

Avatar n tn Upon running my finger along the roof of my mouth, there is a hard, pea-sized lump on the roof of my mouth. If I open my mouth and look, it is not visible, and is located under the tissue. As this literally began to hurt within a matter of an hour or two, I am wondering if it's some sort of inflammation that will pass. The internet has provided few answers, and pointed me towards cancer: is it possible that cancer could start to bother me that quickly?
Avatar n tn I can usually get rid of it by hitting it hard with listerne three times daily, but recently, I became reinfected with it, and this time, it looks like the Grand Canon on the roof of my mouth with a black spot in the center of it all. This is what began to concern me. It's not responding to the listerene like it use to. I am a smoker. I'm not sure what to think....... Any suggestions? I don't think it's cancerous due to the reptitious activity of it. (Coming and going).
Avatar n tn I get bright purple dots on the roof of my mouth in the summer from allergies. The roof of my mouth will itch terribly when I have them. I would try some allergy medication to see if it goes away.
Avatar n tn I have a blister on the roof of my mouth, as if I had eaten hot pizza, but I have not. The blister has gone but the skin remains sensoitive as if I had burned it.
Avatar n tn I often get them on the under side of my tongue. I have a bump very similar to that on the roof of my mouth in the back. I just ate garlic bread, so I'm wondering if these bumps can also occur on the roof of your mouth? I mean I literally just noticed it. It doesn't hurt though it does look a little red around the bump.
Avatar f tn This might not be what you want to hear, but I get sores on the roof of my mouth and they are Herpes sores, (HSV 1 same virus that causes cold sores). It's not that common to get them like that (roof of mouth) but in my case it is from being immune surpressed. If it starts off like a blister (like you burned the roof of your mouth) then turns into an ulcer this might be what it is.
Avatar n tn I have a very small red bump on the roof of my mouth. I noticed it when I ran my tongue across it. It is about the size of the point of a ballpoint pen. It is like a little blister. I had scraped my fingernail across it and popped it. It was just clear liquid that was in it. It does not hurt at all but I am extremely worried about it and afraid to go to the doctor because I am afraid that it is cancer. I do smoke about 5 cigarettes a day. I have smoked on and off for about 8 years.
Avatar f tn About a month ago I noticed a small round lump on the roof of my mouth towards the back, now since I have dentures I normally run my tongue around the upper palate after I take them out...so I know this is kind of new. I had my upper shortened in the back so I know its not the palate of the denture because it doesn't cover it anylonger, but the edge of the denture does push on this spot. It doesnt hurt at all, now this is scaring me!!!!
Avatar f tn I am 27 years old and I have a small bump on the roof of my mouth, been there for about 2 months with no change. When I look at it in the mirror, I cant see it or a change in color, but yet I can feel it with my tongue. Its to the side of my palate. I viewed many online photo and nothing looked like it. Do oral cancers always have a distinctive look? What else could it be? PLEASE write me!
Avatar f tn I have a bump on the roof of my mouth that feels like a blister and when I push on it with my tongue it hurts my front teeth. Like I'm pushing a nerve. I've had it before in the same spot and it pops after a couple days and some stuff comes out so I dont know what it could be. I haven't burned it.
Avatar f tn Hi there, yesterday i noticed a small patch that was swollen on the roof of my mouth (on the left side). It does not hurt, it`s just annoying. This morning i noticed one white dot on my right gland. It doesn't hurt when i swallow and i`m in no pain, but this is only the second day. I would like to know if anyone shares these symptoms and whether or not you know what this is. Any answers will be appreciated.
Avatar n tn Apparently I have a habit of pushing my tongue to the roof of my mouth and feeling around as if there was bits of food stuck on the roof of my mouth. It almost seems like a nervous reaction like popping joints or biting nails. It wouldn't usually bother me, but I've been tasting blood lately, as if I'm actually cutting the roof of my mouth. Does anyone have anything to help me?
Avatar n tn Dr. I have a pink area on the left side of the roof of my mouth. Discovered it back in January and saw an oral surgeon and had it biopsied. After the results came in the Dr. said it was an iflammatory process. The results on the report read Scar and reactive epitelial changes and negative for dysplasia and malignancy. It did say in the comments that the tissue was hyperplastic and acanthotic though. He didn't seem concerned and said to get my teeth cleaned and stuff like that.
Avatar m tn Okay well i had unprotected sex with a girl and my penis started getting itchy and the foreskin was swollen from the inside and i started getting wrinkles on the glans and one of the wrinkles turned into like a circle that stings every once in a while but its only getting bigger it doesnt hurt alot just sometimes. I think i have a yeast infection but this circle worries me the most, and i started getting small sores in my.
Avatar n tn It may just be a torus which basically means you have some extra bone on the roof of your mouth which creates a bump on the roof of your mouth. The gums (soft tissue) on top of that area is usually a little thinner and a little more susceptible to trauma. But a torus would have been present all your life unless you recently noticed it. If it has been growning or changing in shape, then its definitely important to check the area out as soon as possible.
Avatar f tn Yellow or white film on the roof of the mouth and or throat could indicate a yeast infection or thrush..... Reflux can also cause acids into the mouth and throat which too can cause this change in color.... See your Dr for info as to what is going on with you....this is an old thread and the members that posted were talking in regards to Chiari Malformation...if you also have Chiari please state if you had surgery and how far along post op you are..
Avatar n tn I am not quite sure how long this has been present, but 2 weeks ago I noticed 2 different "spots " on the roof of my mouth , both which are no bigger than half the size of a penny, and both feeling slightly raised and rigid when i feel it with my tongue or finger (the rest of the roof of the mouth is smooth). These rigid spots are located toward the back of the roof of my mouth , almost where the palate turns from "hard" to "soft.
Avatar n tn Teeth and gums tingle, roof of mouth swollen, kind of like dry mouth (not thirsty though), tongue will not leave the swollen area alone. My dentist suggested trying biotene toothpaste and mouthwash for about two months to see if there is any improvement which I did and no improvement. I am going to call my dentist and tell her it did not work, but I thought I would write to see if you have heard of this and have any suggestions. Could it be allergies? I have not changed my way of eating.
Avatar f tn The roof of my mouth near the back of my front teeth and then near a molar of mine has been feeling a little sore lately (and I keep rubbing it with my tongue so my tongue somewhat feels weird but I think its just the friction). There are no raised bumps or anything I can feel that I don't think is just my regular mouth structure. It's similar to the feeling you get when you burn the roof of your mouth.
Avatar n tn Actually, I made an appointment with her pediatrician and rushed out of work to get her there on time, but when I picked her up and checked the roof of her mouth, it was pink again. I cancelled the appointment. Is it possible that this sort of thing could disappear and there would still be a problem? I really can't afford to bring her to a dentist this month, but, of course, I would if there is an issue. She hasn't complained of any pain or discomfort. She's had no fever.
Avatar m tn Oral lichen planus is an inflammatory condition that affects mucous membranes inside the mouth. Treatment is available only on prescription and consists mainly of steroids, retinoids, hydroquinone and phototherapy. Also sometimes the trigger may be an allergen and in that case, you'll be advised to avoid the allergen, and you may consult an allergist.
Avatar m tn I've been suffering from this agonizing pain in the roof of my mouth. The pain is centered around an area behind the back of my teeth, around my airway. It's gone on several months and I cannot get an answer as to why. I can hardly even eat because of the pain. My jaw is really weak as well. I'm not sure if this is from tmj or something else. I also have terrible headaches so maybe it is neurological?
Avatar n tn Hello, About a month ago, I began noticing some pain in the hard palate area in the roof of my mouth. It is about halfway between my teeth and the very top of the roof of my mouth. Later in the day, a little bump will appear that usually is not there in the morning. There is some very minor swelling and a burning sensation in the area. I can eat certain foods that will intensify the symptoms. What do you think? Thanks!
Avatar n tn Also, using sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 during the day or during prolonged exposure to the sun may help reduce wrinkles. Drink plenty of water and use only a mild facial cleanser such as Cetaphil over the face.
