Avatar n tn At my workplace I, yesterday, had a deep cut and a colleague helped me by taking out of the medical kit the hansaplast plasters and applying on on my wound whilst I was holding my finger. That was ofcourse very kind of him but my worry is if he had a cut himself or blood on his finger when touching the plaster which he then applied on my wound would that pose HIV transmiison risk?

Avatar f tn In fact, more than 26,000 Americans died prematurely in 2010 because they lacked health insurance, according to a recent report by Families USA. "We don't have a setting across this country where if you don’t have insurance, we just say to you, 'Tough luck, you're going to die when you have your heart attack,'" he added in the interview.
Avatar f tn t have as they helped lead me back to insanity again in March of 2010. Business ethics seem to be a major trigger for me and I always see what needs fixing or what shouldn't be in a perfect world and it destroys me inside. Since my last hospitalization in March I have been seeing a Psychiatrist and have already tried a variety of meds that haven't helped. I went from manic to severe depression and all the self talk in the world isn't helping. Is there help for the hard to treat?

Avatar m tn In Staten Island, again where I live, about 45 people get diagnosed each year, with it being one of the lowest even across New York State and of the people that are involved here, me, the girl, and my partner, we are all white and 17. Avatar f tn I just found out that I lost my work today because I cannot stay well in a workplace that has clorox, paint, polyurethane, bacteria, with NO return air. I am in a very specialized field--I teach newly arrived refugees from Burma, Africa, etc. tospeak English. It may be too late, but is there any kind of mask I could get and still teach--I guess, however, that it would have to cover nose, mouth and eyes--maybe I coul wear it half the time. I need/love the work.
Avatar n tn It definitely sounds as though you were in a hostile work environment that caused you a great deal of stress and eventually caused you to have to seek a new position. The fact that your immediate supervisor was involved rather than trying to help you is also deplorable...and wrong. However, the burden of proof in a legal situation is on you. If the new job caused you to take a pay cut, then you certainly could seek damages for the loss of income, not to mention rank.
Avatar f tn I took statistics as an undergraduate and our "professor" was a stoner, so I did not learn much. I can vividly remember him gazing out the window, lost in his own little word. It could take him 5 minutes or more to come back to reality and the class. His words of wisdom to the class were "You have to remember the f'ing T Test". Yup, high quality education!
Avatar f tn You will find a lot of information on this protease inhibitor regarding those who have been in trials, statistics and when the drug is expected to be released.
Avatar n tn m not much help regarding the buzzing in the ears. Make sure your hearing is tested and of course see your primary care doctor to have a whole body physical exam and see an opthalmologist becauese of the eyestrain. I wonder if you might have some problems with your workplace - such as enviromental issues.
