stress

Avatar m tn Im having trouble mustering the will to quit, since I smoke very little and very infrequently now. I only smoke like 3 or 4 cigarettes every couple of days or so, and often times I can go several days or even a week without smoking a cigarette with no problem. Im not really a "social" smoker, in that its not like Im out smoking with friends or family.
Avatar f tn I know exactly how you feel and I react exactly the same to work stress. My only answer for myself is that I've decided to quit my job and look for something less high profile. I think we have to be aware of our 'stress vulnerability' with Bipolar, it really is a very big trigger, possibly the biggest trigger of all to mood episodes. As ILAD says I think we have to learn what coping skills work for each of us. Work stress drove me to drinking badly, and made my BP even worse.
398920 tn?1218779347 Obstructive sleep apnea could be a reason for you to wake up number of times at night, many times you may not even be aware of it ending up having excessive daytime sleep because of fatigue, feeling unrefreshed, daytime sleep attacks at your workplace. Added to this, stress can be a trigger. Modafinil can be used for the treatment of narcolepsy. Please go through this link for more info http://www.emedicine.com/neuro/topic522.
975514 tn?1324997938 I wanted to start a thread for those of us who have CFS and or FMS and are dealing with stress in the workplace. For those of us who are still working, the economy in the US and perhaps in the UK too has been extremely tense over the last couple of years. This has compounded the pressures I think we usually feel at work dealing with our illness and managing our careers. How do you all do it? I find myself struggling to keep a healthy balance.
Avatar f tn So I am almost 24 weeks along. I am super stressed out at my job. I am a pharmacy technician in a usually busy retail pharmacy. Nobody seems to understand that I can't work like I was. I have a stool, but can't always sit down while working. Alot falls on me because I have been there the longest & they tend to depend on me a little too much. Recently I have had headaches, abdominal muscle pain, diarrhea & some vomiting. I e-mailed my nurse this morning about options at work.
Avatar f tn At 12 wks i'm und. My question is will daily stress cause the virus to return?
Avatar f tn re less than 2 months from going to closing on our house and so that means I need to begin to pack . My anxiety and stress is through the roof ..
Avatar f tn Day 8 is fantastic...You're on your way. Unfortunately, life happens, even during detox, so sometimes you just have to hunker down and deal with it. Remember that your emotions are still a bit on edge, so things can come across somewhat overblown. Hang in there. And on to day 9.
Avatar f tn but is not wrong of them is a job its a business they cant cange their policies because you are pregnant i would say quit if you can or get a note from your dr but is not a guarantee that they will change their ways.. Avatar n tn At my workplace I, yesterday, had a deep cut and a colleague helped me by taking out of the medical kit the hansaplast plasters and applying on on my wound whilst I was holding my finger. That was ofcourse very kind of him but my worry is if he had a cut himself or blood on his finger when touching the plaster which he then applied on my wound would that pose HIV transmiison risk?
10452875 tn?1436484351 Look into what HR has for workplace accommodation, that might include you needing to sit whenever you need to. If its not something they can accommodate they might be able to release you early for leave. Look into it.
Avatar f tn I just found out that I lost my work today because I cannot stay well in a workplace that has clorox, paint, polyurethane, bacteria, with NO return air. I am in a very specialized field--I teach newly arrived refugees from Burma, Africa, etc. tospeak English. It may be too late, but is there any kind of mask I could get and still teach--I guess, however, that it would have to cover nose, mouth and eyes--maybe I coul wear it half the time. I need/love the work.
Avatar n tn It definitely sounds as though you were in a hostile work environment that caused you a great deal of stress and eventually caused you to have to seek a new position. The fact that your immediate supervisor was involved rather than trying to help you is also deplorable...and wrong. However, the burden of proof in a legal situation is on you. If the new job caused you to take a pay cut, then you certainly could seek damages for the loss of income, not to mention rank.
Avatar n tn m not much help regarding the buzzing in the ears. It could be related to high stress or anxiety, or uncontrolled blood pressure, sinusitis, ear disease like menier's disease, or medication side effects. Make sure your hearing is tested and of course see your primary care doctor to have a whole body physical exam and see an opthalmologist becauese of the eyestrain. I wonder if you might have some problems with your workplace - such as enviromental issues.
506514 tn?1210785523 Hi PeacelsAlllWant, how are you? Can you give some details of the nature of job you are doing? Usually the stress and strain to the body does cause a bit of muscle soreness at the end of a hard day out. The events at the workplace if bothering might also make you mentally stressed. When you are not working probably you might be following a set sleep cycle, which might make you sleep better. It is better to keep yourself physically active whether at work or not and follow a healthy sleep habits.
Avatar f tn I hate my job nd today I think is da day I just might quit I'm so pissed right now!!!
Avatar m tn Hi Nirban I smoked when I was younger too. Here in the USA, we have a patch. That helps. Dr can prescribe zyban & that's supposed to help too. When I quit, I did not use that stuff though. This is what I did. I bought some straws. Then I cut them to the length of a cigarette. I took them with me, so when I felt like smoking I'd hold a straw like a cigarette. I'd even puff or draw a breath on the straw. Helped to relax me. I'd have something to do with my hand too.
Avatar m tn These pulmonary function test results are a warning of ongoing lung disease and must not be ignored. If you smoke cigarettes, you should quit now. If you are exposed to bad air pollution in the workplace you should look to work where the air is clean. The normal oxygen saturation is good news and suggests that, whatever the cause of these abnormal results, you still have adequate lung function to lead a normally active life.
784382 tn?1376931040 s anything wrong with smoking pot, but you still have the act of inhaling something in your lungs everyday which makes it hard to stay quit with cigs. I was a pot smoker too. Quit almost 3mos ago. Smoking pot led me to fail my quit each and every time.
