Avatar f tn My side job is great and my colleagues (many of whom I went to Uni withnare great) are the best. But my main job is a nightmare. I’ve been there seven years and the work itself is fine but my superior is a bully who likes to stomp on those below him. I find it extremely stressful to watch him pick on others and want to tell him to stop but fear losing my job. Would you speak up and tell him to stop it or clam up and keep working?
Avatar n tn I think the best thing to do is let it go. You sound like your in a much better state of mind with true friends now. It's sad that your previous co workers did'nt support you, but this can happen. Thinking about getting revenge will only set you back and you don't want that. You've moved on, your happy and that's what's important.
Avatar m tn Fatigue management is becoming a growing area of interest and research in Australia mainly due to the mining boom. As it becomes more a topic of interest this can only benefit other workers such police, nurses and other shift workers. That's why I started my blog: http://fatiguemanagementblog.wordpress.com/ so we could share experiences. Would be great to hear from anyone on how they manage their fatigue from varying shifts.

Avatar f tn I just found out that I lost my work today because I cannot stay well in a workplace that has clorox, paint, polyurethane, bacteria, with NO return air. I am in a very specialized field--I teach newly arrived refugees from Burma, Africa, etc. tospeak English. It may be too late, but is there any kind of mask I could get and still teach--I guess, however, that it would have to cover nose, mouth and eyes--maybe I coul wear it half the time. I need/love the work.
382218 tn?1341181487 Based on patients’ and physicians’ perception of the association of stressful life events and manifestation and exacerbations of MS, psychological interventions and stress management training programmes have been advocated. While a growing body of evidence supports the use of these interventions for the treatment of psychiatric conditions and improvement of quality of life [33], more data are needed before they can be recommended as having any disease modifying effects.
Avatar f tn Hi again, A recent research review, published by The Cochrane Collaboration, listed numerous non-hormonal therapies--medications and complementary type interventions that do not appear to alter a woman's hormonal state-- that can help manage hot flushes. (Several "holistic" remedies such as black cohosh and phytoestrogens do not qualify as non-hormonal because they might alter a woman's hormonal balance.
Avatar f tn I think I experience this more as a sense of hopelessness and helplessness (which equals powerlessness). Powerlessness is what I felt when I was threatened with ect or what I feel moments before an accident or when I have concerns for family, friends or animals. I think your observations are correct and I acknowledge that is something I have done and do do. I think that sense of power (?control) when others feel helpless is sadistic.
Cat Hi! If you were my patient, I would advise you that the best products for rosacea and acne are prescription antibiotics. One option to consider would be laser or broad band light treatments at a medi-spa in your area, These are pricey too, but can give lasting results. Good luck!
4600149 tn?1375022590 A combination of aerobic, strength training and stretches works best. Many people find it difficult to fit an exercise regimen into their lives. The best way is to join a gym. If that is not possible, try building exercise into your daily life. If you lead a busy life, then walk to work, or to bus stand etc, climb stairs instead of using lifts, walk while talking on cell phone, or briskly walk to any place you are going to. See how you can change your lifestyle to incorporate exercise.
410877 tn?1245973772 Has anyone had any experience with them? Know if they work? My boyfriend's mom doesn't know anything about them, but she wants to confront him with her husband and daughter. I explained to her that it's a little like an intervention. I know it may not be a good time unless I plan on being there, because mainly all of her information is coming from me and I don't want it to backfire on us and push him away further.
10452875 tn?1436484351 I also work in retail & the standard is killer in the back. Stocking anything heavy may make it worse. If the merchandise is light & ca fit on a cart that is higher so you dont have to bend, then the moving around may actually help your back. But if not, I would ask your DR for a note & give it to the manager above yours. Explain that you have already spoke with him about it.
1050179 tn?1253899186 Does anyone know where I can find articles that are concrete in using methadone for chronic pain? I'm on 110mg's of liquid methadone and have to go to the clinic twice a week because I have 5 take home days. But I don't want to have to go there anymore to get the medicine. - At first,I went there because I was taking percocet for my FM pain and kept having to take more and more to get the relief I needed.
Avatar n tn I have always been consist ant but it has not seem to matter. I have covered all angles of this situation and nothing has works. What else is there left? I need help..............
Avatar f tn I am so nervous about having further interventions. Would it be best to have a CT scan or a colonoscopy....I can arrange both here privately and quickly even though I do not have medical insurance it is affordable. Am also nervous of further surgery . Thank you.
Avatar f tn To find a doctor close to your place you can consult your insurance agent or office. There may be others at your workplace or around who have been to a pain management clinic. So, you could ask them. Local pharmacists too could guide you. You could look through the local directory. Check and see if there is a pain support group. Members of this group may be able to help you. Your husband’s old doctor may be able to provide some reference. Hope this helps. Take care!
8824415 tn?1409177244 I talk with my husband about what I hope the experience will be like and what I want for interventions. I also tell him to be prepared that what I want may fly out of the window, lol. Find out what that place that you are giving birth offers for pain management. There are usually a lot of options- relaxation techniques like soft music, dim lighting, calm environment, warm bath, deep breathing, massage, sitting on the yoga ball. All are great techniques that work for many women.
