Avatar f tn Heiligs14 what kind of cardio do you do. While cardio is an essential component to Any weight loss or fitness plan it's not the only component. Try this for 3-4 weeks and see if it helps. I think you'll be very pleased with your results. If you work out 6 days a week split that between intense cardio (heart rate between 70%-80% three days a week and 3 days of moderate intensity weight lifting.
Avatar f tn This is my third pregnancy and Ijust walk the treadmill and do the elliptical. You probably should not being doing ab or cardio workouts. While pregnant slow down and be safe.
Avatar f tn I usually look up youtube videos on prenatal cardio, yoga, etc. They have a big variety of videos with pregnant instructors showing you how to do the workouts and you just follow along with them just like any other workout videos. Best of luck to you!
Avatar m tn Many gyms offer rowing machines, upper body ergometers, swimming pools, and boxing rooms. These can all be used by those with limited leg function. A rowing machine provides aerobic workouts to the biceps, triceps, pectoralis muscles, and the upper back muscles. An upper body ergometer (arm bike) looks like an upside-down bike that is pedaled with your hands. In the pool, shallow water arm movements with leg stabilization can be done to stress the arms, chest and upper back.
Avatar f tn That equals out to 3 pounds a week. What are some good workouts that will help me reach and/or exceed this goal? THANKS!
Avatar f tn As for abs, you should find workouts that target your core! You can do so by searching ab workouts online, YouTube is full of great videos (I really like blogilates, livestrong woman, Tara stiles) or even finding apps ( I like nike training club because they have 15 minute focus workouts ! I especially like these methods because they're free and fun. I encourage you to calculate your BMI (body mass index) , make a healthy/realistic weight loss goal and go from there.
Avatar f tn I've had the same problem my whole first trimester. I'm almost in my second as well so I hope to start working out again soon. In the meantime I go to the pool when I can and do some swimming and stuff.
Avatar n tn Ever since I found out I was pregnant @ 5wks I've been working out every day for the sake of the baby (improved circulation, lung functioning, etc) & myself (good prep for labor, relieves aches & pains, feels good etc) and I'm in awe. Because I'm not trying to lose weight I hadn't noticed my body changing, but i looked at all my bump selfies from 6 wks to 16 weeks & the diff in tone is crazy!
Avatar m tn Staying within this range will help you work most effectively during your cardio workouts. First thing in the morning before you get out of bed have a clock with a second hand and check your resting heart rate then figure your rate by the Karvonen Formula The following link will help you figure your heart rate by the Karvonen Formula. http://www.briancalkins.com/HeartRate.
Avatar f tn Try reversing your workouts to put cardio exercises last. I've been told that is the way to lose the most weight. Try stretching exercises for 15 minutes before lifting. Good luck.
Avatar n tn I want to workout my abs and thighs. Any workouts that you have in mind to help me workout?
Avatar f tn Cardio cardio cardio. You have to burn more calories than what you take in.. Cardio is the easiest way. Try jogging around for at least 30 min a day.
Avatar f tn I had to stop my workouts due to back injury. My doctor said NO MORE weights, jumps squats or running. I've listened but have put on 20lbs, I walk but it doesn't promote weight loss. I watch what I eat for the most part and do enjoy a glass if wine with dinner. What Other options are there for me at age 51. I've heard of PYO?? I don't want to irritate my back anymore.... Help!
Avatar f tn You burn 30 percent more fat from doing cardio after a weights session as opposed to cardio on its own. Before doing anything get the OK from your doctor!
Avatar f tn d suggest that you look into some yoga videos or classes. Yoga is great for toning muscles, and also helps with weight loss. Walking is also excellent. Since it's summer time, put the baby in a stroller and hit the sidewalk; pushing the stroller will even help exercise your arms. As for diet, a good healthy diet, with plenty of protein, lots of veggies, etc will be good. Figure out how many calories you need then drop a few, so you'll be in weight loss mode.
