Avatar f tn Also by the sounds of it you are working out 12+ times a week? Once a day is plenty to have a toned figure as long as you vary your workouts and do focused workouts. Make sure you are giving your body time to repair from your workouts. It is easy to push harder and further when you get the results you want. Maybe just ask to see a nutritionist and between that and your trainer set up a good meal plan and workout plan that is safe for you and go with that from here on out.
Avatar f tn I wanted to do my normal routine as well. I am definitely a fitness girl, but I toned my workouts way back just to be safe. I did fast paced walking until 32 weeks. Now, at 37 weeks I can't walk much. I do toning and strength training with light or no weights (lunges and squats are my favorite). My husband is a personal trainer, so I had to just accept slower workouts and just focus on retaining muscle memory. It's better to be a little conservative for the benefit of your baby.
Avatar f tn For getting toned just do leg workouts. I believe if you do moderately low weight, but lots of reps is the best way to tone. Biking is my favorite method. If it is fat around your hips/legs there is no way to target that. Your body starts storing from one area and moves to another the more you gain. And fat loss works the same. First place you gain it is the last to lose it. Running is my favorite way of taking care of fat.
Avatar f tn This is weird but I did boxing and crunches and other type of ab exercises all the way up until 7 months, it depends on pre level of exercise but i didnt show for a VERY long time i was pretty toned, so I'd say squats back workouts ,YouTube has so many good workouts for pregnant women u can watch if u dont kno how to do them... And eating healthy , i only gained like 10bs ,in my pregnancy... but everyone is diff, the more your active the quicker you get back in shape..
327385 tn?1378360731 i was very fit and slim 7yrs ago. i had great abs and was toned . i had gained 50pnds due to 2 brain tumors. i have started feeling better and can handle workouts better now. i was wanting to know if because of my muscle tone before i gained weight would it be easier to get my muscle tone back ?
Avatar f tn What I would like to know now is whether doing these exercises daily will help me lose fat and tone up or simply cause me to build muscle under fat. I want to lose a dress size and generally get healthy - I do not want to bulk up and am worried I may doing these exercises daily either that or just end up bigger because I have gained muscle under existing fat. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Most of the exercises are performed with a weight of between 2 and a 1/2 to 5lbs.
Avatar f tn You'll have to cut your daily calories and eat healthy foods - talk to your parents about making sure there are plenty of veggies, lean protein, etc available. Try walking (or other activity you enjoy) and yoga for exercise. Walking burns fat, as long as you keep a good brisk pace for at least 30-60 min. Yoga helps build muscle (which burns fat) and is great for toning. You can do a google search for different yoga videos, that you can watch for free, in order to learn how to do it.

Avatar f tn Suzanne Bowen slim and toned barre maternity workout dvd is pretty good. It really gives you a good burn in the buns and thighs. Also has a good arm workout. I bought mine off amazon. I did p90x pre-pregnancy. I will probably continue to use the Suzanne Bowen dvd after birth as well.

Avatar f tn I have been working out 7 days a week for the past 5 months now and I have also been watching what I eat yet I can't seem to lose any weight. I haven't been on an actual diet but I have cut portion sizes and cut out sweets all together. I eat a lot of fruit, no bread and hardly any carbohydrates. I go to the gym 2x a week where I jog for about 30 mins and then do some weights and use the cross trainer and the bike. The rest of the week I do various work out DVDs.

This was my first ever experience of weight training exercises and on the first day I tried almost everything I could, on my own, since no instructor was present that day. It was alright until I did a round of "Sit Ups" when I experienced a sudden sharp pain somewhere between my neck and right shoulder. I didn't go to gym on the next day.

850661 tn?1245666056 I was once told that if you are pregnant you can still work out, but it is different workout. You are not working out to loose weight, you are working out to keep toned. They told me not to work too hard on the legs and build up muscle as it can make for a tougher delivery. Walking or a light run on a treadmill is still ok - just do what you can handle - same with the stepper. I would be ignoring the stomach crunches and the flat out run.

What should I do? Should I just continue to do vigorous house work and walking the dog? Or should I just get a gym membership? Thanks I appreciate it!
Avatar f tn I worked out 4-56 times a week and now I can barely get 3 workouts in. I even made a schedule for a specific pregnancy workout I found on pinterest and walking and elliptical. We just have to listen to our bodies I guess! I felt Bette when I went to the doctor today because they told me to work out 3 maybe 4 days a week and only for a maximum 20 min..

OMG, I bought them the year before my Wedding and let me tell you, within ONE week I had more defined abs! And as much as they define and shape your abs, the workouts act as Cardio too. So your moving your legs and arms. I did them for a good 6 months before my Wedding and I was in the best shape of my life...every part of my body was toned to perfection and I felt great!
