Avatar f tn m much thinner but sadly i still have some untone muscle and skin on my stomach and little flubber on my upper upper inner thighs. Daily I run anywhere from 3-6 miles and i do three sets of crunches, "russian twists", planks, and lunges. Does anybody know anything i can do to get a more tone and flat stomach and toner thighs? (i'm willing to commit to the exercise as long as i can have hope that i will get results). Please and thanks.

Avatar f tn I've done a few workouts but not consistent. Just when I don't feel like I'm going to be sick. I hope it'll be easier to get back into it. I may look into pregnancy workouts. I know amazon has quite a few to sort through so we will see.

I have had x-rays, blood tests and an ultrasound but no MRI yet. I feel like it's most likely bad muscle tearing or other injury from the workouts as everything else came up negative.

I was doing my workouts 4 times a week upper body Monday, lower , day off, upper, lower then two days off. Now I'm doing Saturday, Sunday and Monday off, Upper, day off, lower body , upper than 3 days off.Any Idea what is causing the problem? FYI, I am female, 55 years old and 19% body fat. I also do treadmill 20 min after and I stretch 1 hour before each workout.

Because working out usually gives people more energy - it's normal to experience tired muscles but it's a pleasant tiredness. Avatar f tn However back to the point, I find myself craving water and veggies ( and sometimes pizza)! I love going to a buffet and not even wanting fried anything, and going straight to the steamed veggies and fresh fruit! It really is a mindset. You CAN do it!
Avatar f tn If you are really out of shape, do mild activities for a prolonged amount of time, for example, go for a slow walk for an hour, rather than a brisk walk for ten minutes and you will burn more fat that way. The longer you get the aerobic system working for, the more fat you burn. The more in shape you become, the more aggressive activities you will be able to do while being able to breathe deeply - oxygen is the key to being aerobic and burning fat.
Avatar f tn Ok mommas here's the deal with my first pregnancy I started out at 210 which was the most I had ever weighed at the end of my pregnancy I maxed out at 217 and my son was born 7.4 lbs and I left the hospital weighing 205. After that I got down to 184 but then I went through a really bad divorce and I shot back up to 206 and I fluctuated between that and 197. Now I'm 15wks soon to be 16wks on Tuesday I started out at 203 and I just weighed myself and I'm 205.
Avatar n tn Strengthening your core theoretically also helps your back, as it takes some of the strain of activity off the back. But as to which exercises to do, and how to do them correctly, for that you should seek professional help. Getting advice on the internet doesn't show you very well how to do these exercises, and you can't tell the internet, hey, that one hurts. You can tell that to a live person.
Avatar f tn I had a back strain over a year ago. I still suffer from lower back pain almost daily. I've tried physical therapy, yoga, light workouts, and medication. I have been taking vicodin and valium for over a year now and I really want to get off of it and for the pain to just go away. My pain is a result of weak hip flexors and a weak core. I have been trying to strengthen these muscles but the pain is still there (I do light workouts 3 to 4 times a week and stretch several times a day).

Avatar n tn However, I only spend a little time in upper ranges. I base my workouts on how my BP is doing. If i do overexert, too much time at upper ends, it can drive my HR up. Need to take a few days off perhaps or lighter workouts. Check out Sally Edwards Heart Zones Training, it has a lot of information. They say that by spending more time in 70-80%, can achieve good results. Sounds like you may be going too high.
Avatar f tn I worked out 4-56 times a week and now I can barely get 3 workouts in. I even made a schedule for a specific pregnancy workout I found on pinterest and walking and elliptical. We just have to listen to our bodies I guess! I felt Bette when I went to the doctor today because they told me to work out 3 maybe 4 days a week and only for a maximum 20 min..
Avatar f tn Prenatal yoga is great for strengthening all the muscles you're gonna use during labour and for focusing on your breathing. I've been swimming a lot during my pregnancy as it feels so nice to exercise without feeling the weight of your belly. Walking as often as possible is also good. These are the only exercises I did but depends on your ability and fitness level. I had breathlessness throughout my preg so anything else was too much much me.

I personally stopped swimming (because it's quite expensive here) when we got a dog when I was 4 months pregnant so now I'm still walking 2-3 hours everyday at 37 weeks pregnant and I've gained about 28 lbs (I'm quite tall). Hope you find something that works for you!
