Common Questions and Answers about Workout videos at home

98010 tn?1305903335 I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good workout vidoes for at home exercise. Having young children at home makes it difficult to get out to a gym or aerobics class, but I really want to start exercising more. Are there any videos out there that offer a good cardio workout, are easy to follow, and fun? Thanks for any suggestions.
Avatar f tn What do you do for exercise? I get so bored doing my workout videos and dance videos and strength training in my living room and it's over 90 degrees out lately so I'm too uncomfortable for walks. Before pregnancy I did turbo fire which was great but I'm so out of shape now I'd die of I tried it. So what do you suggest to get moving?
Avatar f tn I used to workout at home pre-pregnancy using body weight and videos. I was the fittest I have been in years, more than when I went to the gym. I also used to walk from work 1 hr 30 mins, but now that it's winter, it's not an option. Too cold, windy and often slippery. Urggh! I took on spinning last year and was hoping to buy a spinning bike, but then realized that it would take up too much space at home.
Avatar n tn I was wondering if anyone could recommend me any cardio workout websites or YouTube videos
Avatar m tn The peak 8 you can do on the treadmill!! The Peak 8 routine it will quickly raise your heart rate 8 times for very short bursts, with a cooling down period in between. Ideally you’ll be sprinting or cycling full throttle for 30 seconds with a 90 second cool down in between each outburst.  This is the fastest way to lose fat and build muscle in the body.
Avatar f tn Go on to YouTube and look at some videos on there.
3195521 tn?1348154733 What I do I go on YouTube and and look for workouts for pregnant women and do some of that I really like them...
Avatar n tn I am 26 years old and just got diagnosed with Sacroiliitis and Ankylosing Spondylitis. I have to be very careful when I workout or else I cannot move the next day. I can't seem to find a fitness instructor who seems to understand this, all they push is for me to work harder and do things I just cannot physically do.
Avatar f tn I do aqua zumba.
1222567 tn?1280185196 I'm taking it as a good sign. I have been pulling at my jeans the last couple of days. Nothing major. They're just a little more loose than they were before. It's not an inch or anything but I'll take every centimeter I can! I'm still only able to do a mile-equivalent with the videos. I have to remind myself that I haven't even been doing it for a week and before I started doing the videos my fat bump was planted on the couch watching talk shows.
Avatar f tn 30am (2.5 hour drive) and not home until 9:30am. Driving always makes me feel tired, but I worked out anyway. I have to say GLAD I DID so I remind myself no matter how much I DON'T want to work out, AFTER, I'll be glad I did. I have to remind myself that the weight is not just going to fall off magically so I don't get discouraged. 4 lbs is good in 8 days I guess, but I was hoping it would be more. I won't weigh myself again until Sunday.
Avatar f tn What is some good exercises for a 309 women to do at home? I work from home and I have a disable daughter I'm at home with a lot (probably why I gained so much weight) and started working from home but she started school and I need some good work out that I can do at home! I lost a total of 5 pounds since I had a hard and stressful couple of week and ate my feelings! But I'm doing better and really want to continue losing weight!!! Thanks for the help!!!
Avatar f tn What exercises do you do at home? I'm getting abit bored with my routine and need some new ways to break a sweat!
Avatar f tn What is an efficient way to work out at home? Or a routine to do at home?
Avatar f tn hi I'm 15 and I don't consider myself obese but I am over weight and I go to school everyday and I'm not allowed to go to the gym or run around my neighborhood because my parents think its dangerous does anyone have any advice in how to get in shape at home or between home and school everyday 5 days a week?!
9062363 tn?1402524675 You can get one of those step things, light weights like 5-10 lbs, a birthing ball is great its the same as one of those big gym balls 9$ at walmart, and dancing. You can look up dancing workout videos on YouTube or Netflix.
Avatar n tn What could I do here at home to try to maintain or improve muscle conditioning that would be very low impact but would show results?
522699 tn?1250594316 We were able to work this into a cardio workout by doing 10 repititions of triceps and then doing 10 repititions of quads, then immediately back to 10 repititions of triceps and then back to quads until 3 sets were completed. There are a multitude of home workout videos that can be found on youtube ... just search and find something you like. Here's a few as examples. Home Triceps Workout - Tricep Resistance Tube Exercise
Avatar n tn Plyometric exercises are challenging and ideal if you're short on time. You can design an effective 15- to 20-minute, high-intensity workout with a combination of such exercises as jumping jacks, squat jumps, lunge jumps, squat-thrust jumps, mountain climbers and high knees. For a boot camp-style training session, perform each exercise for one minute with a 30-second recovery between exercises. Rest for three minutes after completing the first set, and then complete two more sets.
Avatar f tn If you go onto Youtube, there are endless home workout videos that you can use. Just please don't get overly concerned about it, at this age it's more important to eat regularly and well with a sensible but not excessive amount of exercise.
616227 tn?1251079998 Well, since that ab workout also worked quads, I couldn't do them. I worked quads yesterday. BUT, just to make you happy, Skailark, I did crunches with bicycle legs - even though I did my regular 100 crunches yesterday in class. Yep, I'm gonna just love you tomorrow, Sergeant! FYI: It's okay to work abs EVERY DAY, but not other muscle groups. The instructor I had yesterday is heavy on legs, so we did tons of lunges and squats - and I was toting a 12lb body bar.

Avatar f tn Buy you a DVD walk at home tape to workout while the children are in school this woll allow you some me time (lol)
11513017 tn?1425727593 At 4 weeks I weighed in at 129 last week I was at 135 and yesterday I weighed in at 130. I may not be doing it right but I hope it's okay. I'll contact the NP. Thanks again ladies. BTW ashrefa, Netflix has tons of yoga videos that work for staying in.
Avatar f tn I'm 9 days overdue & have at least been walking every day. I loved swimming too but gave that up a few weeks ago, too scared of my waters breaking in the pool. I also did pregnancy yoga throughout sometimes in a class & sometimes at home. I've only put on 11kgs & it's hard enough, can't imagine carrying anymore weight. So glad I've pushed myself.
Avatar m tn Even if you can't do it regularly, try to at least go for a jog around your block once or twice a week or do workout videos (like the well-known P90X videos) that are quick to whip you into shape at home. As for meal plans, combining complex carbs and protein is your best bet for gaining muscle.
221122 tn?1323014865 Hi ,rita if you go to they have some good workout videos on there. Also a couple of walking videos which are good. That way you can workout in the ac.I usually do the advanced band workout which I really like. Having 2 heart arrhythmias doesnt seem to bother it too much.I just go slower.
Avatar f tn While attending daily classes may not practical, you can work out at home by following along with Zumba videos or DVDs. If you don't have a full hour to spare, you can break your workout into sessions of at least 10 minutes throughout the day and get the same benefits you would from a longer workout. Interval training, which is cardiovascular exercise that alternates between periods of high- and moderate-intensity activity, helps you burn more calories than moderate-intensity activity alone.
