Avatar f tn Think chest press/chest flys with dumbbells, bench press, and good ole pushups. Also shadow boxing with small dumbbells can help too. Tweaking your diet and getting at least 20-30 mins of cardio will also help shed fat there eventually because you cant spot check fat. It has to leave in the order it came for the most part but weight training those areas can help build muscle which in turn aids in burning fat.
Avatar f tn The Stationary Lunge This exercise requires balance, so choose lighter hand weights to begin with. Stand with your feet slightly apart and your dumbbells by your outer thighs. Step one foot forward and lower your back knee. Continue to lower until your front thigh is parallel to the floor. Don't allow your front knee to go past your front big toe. Push up and backward with your front leg muscles and return to standing position. Alternate legs.

Avatar f tn squats with weights help for the butt area butiI don't know what works for the love handles, after I lose a certain amount of weight I will definitely do the squats.
Avatar f tn Quads and Calves The squat is a classic exercise that targets the major quadriceps muscle of the thighs as well as the calves. Beginners start with no weights, and more advanced exercisers add dumbbells. Stand with your feet slightly wider than you hips and lower yourself into a squatting position with your thighs parallel to the floor. Your weight shifts to your heel as you lower your body, so that your knees don't bend too far forward past your toes.
Avatar f tn So I used to have lots of fun exercising but now its just sressy and I avoid it... Do you guys have any tips or maybe some fun exercises to loose weight quickly or to get a "wabble-free" belly??
Avatar f tn s natural and normal way of life u kinda have to deal with it..
Avatar m tn Also walking lunges with anywhere from 6-7kg Dumbbells up are great leg exercises. You can do body weight squats with a chair or bench underneath you so when you bend your knees and hips at the same time going down in the squat position, you sit on the chair/bench and back up this takes a little impact off your knees as your not going the full way down. I'd start off with some leg exercises with weight machines also e.g.
Avatar f tn U can swim. With the bike, it needs to have a seat with a back support, not like a real bicycle- too much pressure on the perineum otherwise. You can dance- try a gentle class if u dont already. I take pilates run by a specialist womens physiotherapist who tailors the class to u specifically. Its really small and expensive, but worth it.
Avatar f tn OK, so guys I am in a unique situation. For the most part I am active person. Before I knew I was pregnant, I started running 2 miles on the track once or twice a week. In January I signed up for this class where I have to work out for 48 hrs by the end of semester in order to get an A. I have 35 hrs to go. With my first pregnancy I did not workout at all because it was my first and didn't want to take any chances, but I wish I did! What are some great ways to workout while pregnant?
1293887 tn?1332702847 Well I thought now that we have all had babies I was wandering if anyone wanted to start an encouragement support group to lose weight, get fit etc. Maybe we could encourage each other to exercise, share meal recipes and our weight loss. I have lost about 6 kilos in the last few months but am struggling with the last 7 or 8. I would love to get down to maybe 60-62 kilos. I don't know what that is in pounds.
Avatar m tn To figure out why men aren't getting the results they want, and what they can do instead. Fitness tips for training your largest muscle groups. Follow the rules! Build a Better Back "Scapular retraction" in the weight room, it's a muscle action that strengthens the middle part of your trapezius, one of your back's biggest muscles. The movement: Pull your shoulder blades (scapulae) together in back (retracting them).
Avatar n tn I have some chronic health conditions that make it near impossible to work out even at a very low intensity, without my body revolting and crashing, leaving me unable to function for several days afterward. I have chronic pain, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, Arnold Chiari Malformation Type 1, arthritis in my back and I've gained 80 pounds over the last 9 years, 40 of that in the last 2.
1280609 tn?1271287626 So this is my third time being sick in about 2 months. First time I got sick it was just a cold that lasted a couple days, then about 2/3 weeks later I get the same thing. A couple nights ago my body started aching and I just thought it was because of this workout that I'm doing because it is pretty intense. So I go to sleep and keep waking up throughout the night and the next morning I have an extremely bad headache, my entire body aches, and I have a cough.
Avatar f tn Any suggestions of smart exercises which I could do during my sons naps etc or even with him? Wanting calorie business and toning please!
Avatar f tn Obviously you are a strong person to have dealt with this for 12 years. You may want to purchase some dumbbells you can get a complete workout at home. Presses, lunge's, curls, kickbacks etc... Glade to hear your starting back.
Avatar f tn I really feel motivated to exercise and workout the muscles that haven't been used in probably 8 years. lol! Back when I was 14-17 I would join my father in the gym, but his trainer gave me different things to do to just be fit and toned. I do have some equipment at my house and my husband works crazy hours so we can't just go to a gym. Plus, I would like to look semi-decent to be able to even show up at a gym. (Yea, I've let myself go that bad.
594189 tn?1386916607 Play around with it. You can do zillions of exercises with it from a chair. I taught seniors at the Y and 90% of the class is done from a chair. You can do a lot! You can also buy some dumbbells to keep at work and work your upper body. Sit-ups, too, can be done in a chair! Keep your abs in and your back flat. It takes some practice to isolate your abs and NOT use your neck to raise yourself, but I taught seniors to do this.
Avatar f tn Hi ladies, This is my second pregnancy. I miscarried the week before thanksgiving. I'm 7 weeks, due around the 20th of November. I know it's really important to get some exercise, but I live a very low key life style. I work part-time and then come home and cook dinner and clean. When I'm done I just don't want to go to the gym or do yoga or go for a walk. Any tips on how to gain some motivation?
Avatar f tn Im 17 i workout 5 times a week im now trying to shred for summer. Belly fat is my biggest problem lol.
Avatar f tn If you have a little money to spend, invest in a pair of 5- and 10-pound dumbbells and an exercise ball. Hold the dumbbells and do biceps curls, triceps extensions and side raises to work the arms and shoulders. Hold the weights at your sides as you do lunges and squats. Use the exercise ball to do crunches for your abs, planks for your core and shoulder bridge exercises to work your butt and hamstrings.
Avatar f tn Cut out all whites.... Meaning flours, sugars and even corn. Replace with high-protein foods such as black beans, fish, tuna, chicken...you can also use brown rice in place of the starch ...

Avatar f tn BUT I cannot prescribe you this workout. And I strongly recommend you to consult with your doctor or physical therapist before attempting it. I did NOT. MY CHOICE. I know doctors may not want to assume responsibility for what may happened. And what is there left? Throwing up and wait for brain and spine to be gradually destroyed by intracranial pressure EVERY TIME SYMPTOMS ARE THERE and as long as symptoms are there? Thanks but NO, THANKS.
