Avatar f tn I was in your exact boat when I got pregnant again. Just had a misscarage and was worried. I started yoga right away.just start slow and dont push it. There are lots if YouTube videos to help you know what poses are safe. If you didnt exercise before yoga is still safe as long as you are careful with the poses. My mother in law did yoga religiously and her labor was 10 mins once she got to the hospital. It really helps me with the back pain now. Don't know what I would do without it.

Avatar f tn I have been trying to do some exercises since I hear that exercise tends to lighten up nausea/morning sickness. My stomach has been feeling sore (muscle wise -- like after an ab workout) I normally like to do bridges (lay on back then raise self up so only feel and hands are on the floor, stomach is in air) to relieve this type of pain, is it okay to do this during the first trimester?

Avatar f tn I really recommend pregnancy yoga in your 2nd and 3rd trimester, before that aqua aerobics, swimming, normal yoga and Pilates, gym workout, light jog, stationary bike and cross trainer, anything really as long as you are feeling well and comfortable doing it.
649848 tn?1534633700 I like it because it forces me to wipe other things from my mind, since I have to concentrate on the poses in order to do them properly. The stretching helps my muscles feel relaxed. It does help one lose weight, if done regularly and properly. Shame on me -- I haven't been doing it lately!!
Avatar n tn My advise would try and get a good walk or a light workout in whenever you can. The more physical you are the better for delivery and when you get big the last few weeks! Congratulations!!

Avatar f tn Sorry for the long delay on responding but thank you for your kind words. I was not able to workout much while on tx just no energy left over after working for that. I completed tx in Nov. 2010 / 72 wks Bikrum yoga is 90 mins at 105 degree's 26 poses each pose you do twice. It certainly would be great if you can continue a workout program while on tx but if not you wont be alone Good luck and keep it up as long as you can.

Avatar f tn I have been doing at home yoga and relaxation videos for a couple years, what I do is look on amazon for workout dvds, then get them through interlibrary loan to try them out for free before I buy them, going to do the same with preg fitness vids. Waiting for Ina May's Guide to Childbirth book to come in now, heard it is great book. I recently bought the Prenatal Yoga Deck, it has breathing techniques and poses, I like it because you can go as many cards as you have time for.
Avatar f tn Ur body starts to produce a chemical called relaxin to soften joints so the baby can pass through. Some stretching will help. I do some yoga pregnancy poses-warrior pose, pigeon etc.
168348 tn?1379357075 Congratulations on joining the Y - I wish there was one near me (there is one in town, but WAY out of my way to get to). I'm glad you are going to give the yoga a try. I'm sure there should be some poses that you can do that won't be too hard on your ankle. You might also find it beneficial to wear some type of elastic support (such as ace bandage, etc).
