Common Questions and Answers about Workout on creatine

Avatar m tn I have been on Wellbutrin for years. I use the gym as a great outlet for my anxiety/depression. I've recently used creatine supplements to help me workout. I work crazy hours and have a very busy life and that "boost" helps me get my workout in. But I've had some bad reactions. Including severe anxiety, paranoia, twitching. This only happens when I take certain creatine supplements. I am very sensitive to stimulants.
Avatar m tn I am wondering if there is anything I can do to make the creatine pre-workout powder a little slower acting or less powerful mix it with more water maybe or I don't know what that's why I'm here asking LOL. I just want a little boost but I don't want to feel like I'm speeding all over the place so just looking for experience and advice thank you.
Avatar n tn First you must get the OK from your doctor!! Creatine can increase muscle strength and endurance. It's more effective if your creatine level is low it could help! If it's not low then it might not help much. Also Branched Chain Amino Acids are good for making protein and to stimulate muscle production. Glutamine, HMB, Taurine, are helpful.
Avatar f tn 32, Male, 175cm, 75kg, no existing medical issues. Four days ago, I got dizzy while working out in the gym. I can almost rule out that it was due to dehydration or low sugar levels, as I always drink a lot and eat a little snack before workout. I also felt dizzy and powerless the day after that. Today I wore a Fitbit while working out and I noticed that my heart rate during workout is pretty low. During exercises and in the breaks as well, it always seems to be around 90-100.
Avatar n tn My 18 year old son has been having high readings. Twice at our family physician and they figured "white coat syndrome". This evening was 139/103. An hour later it was 152/87. He is 6'4 and weighs 160lbs. He is on a workout program 3 times a week and is also taking creatine. I am wondering if the creatine could be causing this increase in blood pressure.
4739785 tn?1358598181 Hi, I'm 27 years old male. I'm feeling mild pain under my left ribs(side). I can feel it only when I press that area(in stretched/bent position). I noticed this 'extra-pain' only after finishing my wing-back-bicep workout on last Saturday. I worked out for 2 hours on that day. I thought, it's due to muscle pain so, I stopped working out(as well as supplements) for 1 week but the pain exists there(now, with less intensity). I don't feel any other symptoms.
Avatar n tn I didnt care about farting because they didnt smell, the burps dont either, but its just weird because its happening almost every minute or two. One thing I am concerned about is that I am on a strict diet and workout plan, the multi vitamin is essential, the creatine I could do without, but Id rather finish whats left than stop using it altogether.
Avatar m tn Hey Man, how's it going? Personally, I don't think I gained too much when I was taking creatine. Some guys swear on it, but I don't think it did a thing for me. In fact, a guy I was lifting with was on creatine as his only supplement combined with his regular diet and I was on a high protein diet, and taking protein supplements. I got bigger and stronger than he did. (He started off stronger than I was and I caught him and passed him.
Avatar f tn Eat plenty of carbs before workout but don't go overboard. Don't eat carbs after 7pm or so. Eat about 1g of protein for every pound of body weight per day. Fish and lean meat have lots if protein. Protein shakes will help with bulk. Don't use creatine too much, it isn't too good for your heart :/ Of course eat minimal junk food and plenty of fruit and vegtables. There are also supliments called animal cuts you should check out. They're quite good.
Avatar m tn The fact that hepatitis C often becomes active in people after they reach the age of 40 indicates that age-associated immune decline plays an important role in the progression of the disease. Not sure on the creatine.
Avatar f tn I recently drank a pre-workout drink at my gym and then noticed that it said don't drink if you have thryoid disease. I didn't feel any side effects but I was wondering why I shouldn't be drinking it. I have very mild hypothyroidism. The ingredients in the drink are: Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate, Creatine Monohydrate, Beta Alanine, Caffeine, 1,3-Dimethylamylamine (Geranium [Stem]), Schizandrol A Could any of these ingredients cause harm?
Avatar m tn Let me preface this by saying I was a collegiate athlete, so my tolerance for workout stress is pretty high. I can't say that I know anything about the brand you are using but I will share my experience. I also use whey protein, the exact type is the GNC Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60. It has worked really well since I don't get to eat as properly as I should with work and school. I stack that with GNC's Amplified Creatine and Glutamine powder.
Avatar f tn I had this problem before. If you are 100% sure that it started after taking creatine then I can assure you that it's from the creatine. The protein powder causes build up in your kidneys and causes kidney stones. I had the same issue. I used to drink alot of protein powder. Here is what you have to do. You have to drink a lot of water. You need to be drinking like 5 bottles a day. You will be peeing alot.
Avatar n tn Creatine i was taking, dehydration. Wasn't drinking enough water while taking it.
Avatar n tn It also has argnine which will help increase blood flow and oxygen to the muscles. It also contains a form of creatine as well. Creatine will allow muscles to handle a greater work load. The only ingredient to be careful with is the caffeine. If someone is caffeine sensitive they should be careful with products like this as it could make them jittery. I have used it and it will help you handle a greater workload which can lead to gains in strenght and performance.
Avatar f tn If you wish to increase strength, use the one-rep maximum test. Your one-rep maximum refers to the heaviest amount of weight you can move in an exercise for one repetition. For measuring size gains, perform circumference measurements and record. Various body locations such as the chest, biceps and thighs are indicators of size gains. For weight loss, use a scale and record your weight. Measure your progress every four to six weeks to assess the effectiveness of your workout plan.
14991338 tn?1447193706 only caffeine would be through cup of tea. i do know however that as time goes on in the workout i get anxious so do you think its maybe the dizziness/lightheaded ness that come with panic disorder?
Avatar f tn I am in good shape and exercise regularly but when I spend extra time on my lower abs particularly in my hips my muscles get extremely sore. I do not tire out easily while doing the exercise but when I am finished and sit down my muscles lock and sometimes I can not get back up or even lift my leg. One time it caused me to fall out of my car because my leg was locked in the sitting position at the hip. What could be causing this? What can I do?
Avatar m tn stop taking all the ******** i have been in the gym 40 years and never took anything at 57 i still do a workout that none of the young guys on the **** can keep up with.
Avatar f tn He also takes mega doses of protein before and after the workout. I have always gotten on him about taking this stuff-what is it doing to his body on the inside...but not much I can do, hes old enough to decide for himself. I question this--for the past couple years--he casually will mention that after working out---HOURS after...his heart will be pounding...and when he takes his pulse..its still high--80+ a minute.
Avatar m tn He has been been taking a high potency workout drink before work (physical constuction) for about about 1 week prior that has high caffine and creatine content and has since stopped. The doctors just jacked him up on morphine and sent him home without finding out what was wrong.......do you have any idea what this could be? It could not be healthy to have diarreah and be so dehydrated and weak looking without being something wrong...please help!
Avatar m tn On Tuesday, I got a sudden, intense headache at the top of my head while in the middle of reps. It hurt so much and felt like such a direct result of lifting that I stopped my workout and haven't been back sense. I notice whenever I exert myself it comes back a little bit, so I stop myself. When its not hurting directly, I can still feel it a little bit, its very specific at the top of my head. I've been taking it easy waiting for it to heal but it seems to be taking its time.
