2046875 tn?1340231119 So i was sitting on a yoga ball at my friends house today and i reilized that if i sit on it with my legs apart against the couch, it takes alot.of pressure off my midsection. So tonight my wonderful fiance went to wally world after work tonight and bought me my own :) i know im not suppose to bounce on it as it can induce labor but i was wondering if anyone knew any safe ways i could use this to strech or workout to get ready for labor. Any knowledge anyone has would be great! :) thanks!!
Avatar n tn HI, Your neck should not hurt - get off the floor get an abs ball. don't over extend all the way back sit on the ball come up ever so slightly.with knees parallel on the floor. Do not pull on your neck rest your neck in your hands concentrate on your abs....the ball is the important item, not only will it work your abs but it will improve your balance.
Avatar f tn Okay so I can't go to the gym. I get really bad anxiety, like I'll go to walk through the door and start crying. I've always been this way. I walk an hour a day but I'm trying to get in shape and loose 10lbs for vacation in August.
773214 tn?1295135069 I don't have a video or anything, but I hit the gym 3 days a week. I just do some light cardio (making sure I am never short of breath) and mini crunches on an exercise ball, and them some light weights on machines (they aren't very heavy so that I strain, but I do lots of repetitions so that I can still feel the burn). I have been going this whole time through even my last pregnancy and I think it helps me with the symptoms.
12981378 tn?1440334797 I have tried everything, and this baby just doesn't want to come out. I've walked, squatts, bounced on the exercise ball, had sex, nothing is bringing her any closer to delivering. If anything I'm just wearing myself out.
9263335 tn?1403463032 Before my pregnancy I would workout &recently my husband told me I'm losing my butt & I want to get it back. What kinds of workouts are safe or recommended during pregnancy?
Avatar n tn What could be the problem with the ball of my foot? I workout doing aerobics twice a week. What can I do for the pain?
5999522 tn?1391685910 Try the yoga ball if you have one I swear by it brought on labour for two of my three pregnancies it would have brought my first one to if I had a ball at the time..
Avatar f tn Bounce on an exercise ball. I would sit on it while watching tv instead of the couch. I really think it helped.
Avatar f tn I use a birthing ball, and a pregnancy workout app. I'm 28 weeks and just started the app today. I use to work out all the time so I must admit it knocked the wind out of me. It was very safe workouts but definitely work out at your own speed and make sure to take your time and take breaks when needed!
Avatar f tn Hi. I work at a desk all day. I'm a single mom of two. I don't have a lot of time to workout. Between work, kids, the house, the dogs, friends, family, etc. I can't find any time to have a good workout. It seems like the best time to be working out is when I'm at work, sitting at my desk, on the phone. I need suggestions for ways to burn calories when I'm just sitting. I have tried sitting on an exercise ball, it's OK but I need more. Thanks.
Avatar n tn Instead small crunches on the ball and plank holds are good, and then just simple easy stretched towards the end, because by then getting up from a chair is workout as it is! I like slow lunges too, as the weight starts to add on.....
266539 tn?1281402152 I want to lose 25 pounds in the next year and a half and I know most of my problem is having no workout plan. My problem is that if it is longer than like 20 minutes I get bored and annoyed so I quit. I want something that is no longer than 20 minutes a day. I was looking at a package that had a big ball in it, a toning ring, 3lbs. soft weights, and a some bands that you streach out but it was $40 and I just didn't know if that was worth it.
Avatar f tn The medicine ball work a little...less pain..
Avatar f tn Exercises that target the back include the lumbar extension, which involves laying prone on the floor or a ball, and lifting your head and shoulders by using your back muscles. You can have your hands on the floor or ball for support, but don't use them to push. Bird-dog is another effective back exercise. On all-fours on the floor, extend one leg back and the opposite arm forward. Engage the abs by pulling them up toward your spine.
Avatar f tn Pile squats, Shadow boxing (set of thirty differing punches with a weight in each hand, squatting at intervals), Incline dumbbell on a stability ball, Bench dips, Wide dumbbell rows on a stability ball, Reverse lunge with torso twist, Good mornings with rotation, Handoff, Trunk crunches, Double crunch with ball, Forward and reverse crossover lunges with bicep curl, Squat jumps with medicine ball, Sumo lunge with sidekick and frog jump, Platypus walk with medicine ball.
Avatar f tn can anyone suggest some simple daily exercises without a workout ball that I could do to help relieve some of these aches and pains?!
Avatar n tn I'm looking for a weight gain diet that focuses on a active lifestyle since I'm going to be working out a lot.
314554 tn?1337454119 (Female 46 yr) My podiatrist examined the Morton's Neuromas on both of my feet about year ago. He made my orthotics and I wear ShockDoctor orthotics in some of my other shoes. At one time, I had several knee and tibia "injuries" that were biomechanical in nature from overtraining on the stairmaster and the occasional use/misuse of sports performance & pain meds (no longer use).
360318 tn?1340393363 The general rule for choosing the correct exercise ball size for core (abs/low back) exercises is to have your knees and hips bent to 90 degrees (thighs parallel to floor) when sitting on the ball. This is the minimum ball size--some people prefer a larger ball, where hips are higher than knees. Don't go by photos of models sitting on balls. Typically they sit on a ball much larger than they would train on as it photographs better.
594189 tn?1386916607 Do you know what an exercise tube is? It's a round tube with handles on both ends. If you don't constantly need both hands, you can step on the middle of the tube and do bicep curls, tricep extensions, shoulder presses. JUST MAKE SURE YOU DO BOTH SIDES EVENLY!!! You can also bring the tube behind your chest and do chest presses. Play around with it. You can do zillions of exercises with it from a chair. I taught seniors at the Y and 90% of the class is done from a chair.

1285110 tn?1420147378 I've never wanted to use a kettle bell. I've seen some exercises that use momentum with it and the rule of thumb is that a strength training exercise or use of weights is supposed to be a slow, controlled movement. I use hand weights, 3 and 5 pounds. I also use a ball with hand weights. I don't know anyone that has a kettle bell but my sister and I don't think she has ever used it. I'll have to get it from her.
Avatar f tn Every one is different and different things work for different people, but caster oil really isnt that safe
483733 tn?1326798446 Is ball rolling a form of stretching? We have stretching listed on the exercise tracker, but nothing so specific as ball rolling. We can add trips and parties to the weight tracker as events. Peek - Since it seems that the exercise of the arm curls is negated by drinking the beer, we won't be adding this to the weight tracker! Thanks for the suggestions!
