Avatar f tn Whether or not this helps you lose weight is dependent on your individual digestive system and nutritional needs, what else you're eating through the day, how much exercise you're getting, etc. Now, most almond milk products are very high in sugar, so you might want to check that unless you're making your own, and some people don't do well on dairy products like whey, but assuming none of this is a big problem that's a pretty healthful shake for most people.

Avatar m tn I am a 19year old male, bodybuilder... I workout for 2.5hrs doing 6-7 workouts followed by 2 or 3 ab workouts a day. How much protein would you think I could digest in an hour? 50grams? I try to space my meals out to give time for digestion, say every 2 or 3 hours i eat or drink protein I also heard soy digests better?
Avatar f tn I do remember I used to do those whey protein shakes back pre kids when I was a workout fiend and remember it helping me feel good all around.. thanks, I didn't even think of that. Perhaps another GNC shopping trip is in order. I have kinda turned this detox into an all around health kick anyway. I do cook very healthy and from scratch so my diet is really good.

Avatar f tn Ok, I have recently found out I was born with only one kidney. I am considered to be overweight. I am 25 at 5 feet 2 inches, 154 lbs, and I wear a size 14 in jeans. I was planning on using some protein shakes to curve my snacking issues, but I'm worried that it may cause issues with my kidney and/or weight problem. I was told to stay away from ibuprofen and not to use certain medicines unless I run it by my doctor first.

You can probably get them at the grocery store. The third one can only be purchased online (I think you can get it on Amazon). Back when I had gastric problems and was hardly able to eat, these shakes helped me maintain a healthy weight.

Avatar m tn Hi, whey protein is just dried milk without the calcium caseinate, lactose, and fat... plain and simple. It's best to use whey protein only for pre-and-post workout nutrition. You're really better off getting the rest of your protein from real food. Drink it 30-45 minutes before working out. For post-workout nutrition it gets a little trickier because the mixture depends on your goals. The post-workout shake is made from skim milk, whey protein.

There are so many better sources of protein and nutrition; stay away from fads promoted by the dairy industry (let's see, how many can I recall that proved harmful?

I am told by the sales lady that her other customers have balanced their diabetes with Herbalife shakes and vitamins and not needed diabetes medicine anymore. By drinking two shakes to substitute two meals they lose weight fast, like 10 lbs in one month. I am hypothyroid and diabetic and finding it hard to lose even 3 lbs. I fluctuate back and forth. Please let me know if any of you have tried Herbalife.
Avatar f tn but just recently i have been eating only ensure meal replacement shakes, lots of water, apple sauce and other fruit sauces, tuna, and chicken (even kfc) no dairy at all and no fruits with skins and well i can't wait to be able o eat regularly again but in just a few days of this diet i have seen and felt tremendous improvement, the blood has stopped and i am begining to have normal bowel movements. good luck and i hope this helps.
Avatar m tn i am trying to lose weight by doing the 2 meal replacement shakes from herbalife. is herbalife bad or good for type 2 diabetes. i drank a shake this morning for breakfast and then tested my blood sugar it was 170 and the night before when i went to bed it was 110. i'm also working out trying to lose weight. does herbalife meal replacement shakes raise your blood sugar, therefore bad for type 2 diabetes ?
Avatar f tn Eat plenty of carbs before workout but don't go overboard. Don't eat carbs after 7pm or so. Eat about 1g of protein for every pound of body weight per day. Fish and lean meat have lots if protein. Protein shakes will help with bulk. Don't use creatine too much, it isn't too good for your heart :/ Of course eat minimal junk food and plenty of fruit and vegtables. There are also supliments called animal cuts you should check out. They're quite good.

Back when I was 14-17 I would join my father in the gym, but his trainer gave me different things to do to just be fit and toned. I do have some equipment at my house and my husband works crazy hours so we can't just go to a gym. Plus, I would like to look semi-decent to be able to even show up at a gym.
