My ipod includes music from U2, Beatles, Stones, CCR, Eagles, Mellencamp, Van Morrison and other great rock artists. However, I will often switch to the wonderful voice of Anita Baker or the awesome flute played by Puerto Rican jazz artist Nestor Torres. Lately I have been focusing on the incredible melodies of the Japanese jazz pianist Keiko Matsui.

I have half a dozen tunes of music that will set my foot tapping when feeling down and make me feel better. (it took quite a while to pick them) Mood swings caused by real events I find more difficult as I keep trying to find solutions for the impossible.
5002615 tn?1366014009 i wasn't allowed out of bed when i was in labour so i just used baby daddys hand to squeeze with every contraction. i had the lights dimmed and the hospital radio was on in the back ground. if you want your music, make a playlist. i will say though that you can't really plan, its good to have ideas and options but be aware you may not get to do what you want. i wanted a water birth with gas and air, be able to move about.

Take deep breaths, stretch your arms in the air, smile at children you pass by, dance on the street if you want (no one will care)… after 20 minutes into your workout, you will feel a new zest for life. Which there are a few different ones, about 20 minutes each. there's also Core Rhythms, which is your Zumba type dance. And they have the FULL workout (38 minutes) right on youtube....For free! I have a laptop so i can put it on a shelf on my entertainment center in the living room and Poof! Instant private aerobic dance class. Plus you don't have to buy tons of dvds.

And I love old school music and old soul music and old rock and roll...and apparently I really like these stronger songs, kanyes, Sara Evans...and more I can't remember right now lol! People watch me just jamming to the music and think I am nuts but it really helps put a smile on my face and gets my mind off my pain. Try it, it is worth the time it takes to complain about the pain.

I've never been the type of person to workout with someone else, but you might feel better going to the gym if you have a friend to go with. There should also be more than one gym in your town, you might even be able to find an all woman gym, but you can go to different gyms until you find one that feels the most comfortable.
