Avatar f tn There is no gain without pain but the burn I have in my abs and thighs after working out is really making every workout more trying than the last. Then when I go to work my performance is down. Help!
Avatar f tn What food is beneficial after running? I am losing weight. After running, when can I eat? Thank you!
Avatar f tn Thank you oh so much .
Avatar f tn I was always told that you can maintain the normal as a runner. Which I did.. basically until youre really showing then taper it back accordingly. If youre already active its best to stay that way. You just dont want to add anything to your routine. The doctor will tell you when its no longer safe and to adjust your stride.

Avatar f tn You may need to lessen the intensity or length of your workout regimen. You should avoid high-impact exercise like running if you have a tendency to develop exertion headaches as this type of exercise can increase stress on the head, neck and back. When you work out, you should also slowly ease into higher intensity workouts by warming up properly and slowing down at the end of your workout with a proper cool-down routine.
Avatar f tn how do you keep from throwing up while running. Every time I run really fast or try to push myself while running I feel nauseous and throw up. Please help.
Avatar m tn I notice the intensity of this sensation increases as I progress through a workout. I went to an urgent care doctor yesterday for this and was told it could be a heart problem, but its likely due to a drop in blood sugar from not getting enough protein in my diet. However I'm not sure if this sounds exactly right as this is a new development and my diet hasn't changed much in a while. I worry that this could be a sign of heart failure and may lead to sudden death.
Avatar n tn Better nutrition and hydration before and after a workout. As you run, most of your body is focused on the muscles that are being used and are in immediate need of fuel, and this does not include the stomach. The blood flow to your stomach and digestive system is reduced to a low level, and digestion of food/fuel is slowed a lot.
Avatar f tn Resistance training, running and any other strenuous exercise deplete glycogen in the muscles. Recovery sports drinks are superior to water because the body needs more than just water after exercise to replenish energy stores. During recovery, the body is busy removing lactic acid and replacing depleted glycogen supply.
Avatar f tn ) or do some exercises of hasfit.com they do free exercising videos that will help you loose weight :) even though they pretty exhausting they are only 20 min long and I sweaf they are pretty good :3 Fighting! You can do it!!!
Avatar n tn since Novrmber 9, with almost 4 months of consistent exercise including X country skiing, water aerobics, interval training, weight training , walking and running, and of course, eating better. I believe my success is due to changing up my exercise routine but keeping weight training as a constant 3 X a week and keeping a food journal using the my diet app. Learning how to make healthy smoothies and eating right throughout the day to keep blood sugar levels up has definitely helped.

Love peace and for the love of god stay clean... Journal by CK Monday August 13th- A day after going on a coke bing I decided to go to my first N/A meeting. Avatar f tn Hi, I'm a runner and continued running till almost 12 weeks. I wasn't as steady with my running because some days you are just too exhausted! I had to stop because It was getting uncomfortable to run. Before I found out I was pregnant, I was training for a race. It's fine to keep running but if you are pregnant don't try to do more intense than you are used to. If you are running a mile now...then continue running a mile. I didn't up my distance at all.
Avatar f tn Getting through that frame of mind is really difficult. You could try keeping a workout journal or putting up post its to remind you of the buzz you get after exercise or the achievements you've made. Likewise you can make plans to exercise with a friend at least once a week, even just a walk. The socialising will boost your mood as well as the exercise and it's a good way to prevent any unmotivated changes in plans because of the expectation to meet up.
Avatar n tn Once Ur belly gets bigger invest in a maternity support belt. Do not start running as a new workout wait until after baby. If Ur wanting to stay in shape while prego which is great. B4 my pregnancy I ran 3miles everyday. I stopped in my 1st trimester bcuz I was so sick. I never started running again but would walk the 3miles instead. I also did a prenatal workout DVD (find on Amazon) every other day. Make sure to drink 9+ glasses of water a day. But always check w Ur dr.
Avatar f tn That would usually mean how vigorous it is as far as cardio workout. Someone who is in shape can exercise vigorously, but somebody who has not been getting any real exercise will need to start out with an easier program. Somebody in between can work out at a moderate pace. Everybody should exercise a minimum of 3 days a week to make any gains at all, and it really takes at least four to see fast results.
Avatar f tn Add intensity to one workout per week. Five or 6 intervals for 2 or 3 minutes at your 10 K pace ought to do it. Ideally this workout is done on a 400 meter track so you can time your intervals and monitor your progress; however you can also just use a watch and a flat stretch of road. Four to six of these workouts should be enough to make a difference in your 10K time. Finish one of your easy runs with 4 or 5 striders.
Avatar f tn Yoga or Pilates or a walk . Don't over do it and if you get tired you need to stop.. pregnancy isn't the time to try and get in shape. If your body isn't used to exercise and you start now it could stress out your body and you could miscarry so no running or jogging don't bother doing muscle stuff like sit ups or push ups . Just go for yoga ...
Avatar f tn Hello doctor, I used to do fairly intense workout like running and lifting. Last week I combined my workout routine with HIIT and I really pushed myself hard in the gym. I experienced spotting since then. I've had spotting previously but this time it is for 2 straight days. Is this something to worry or is it coz of the high intensity workout? I am 23 years old. My previous period ended last Thursday and I am not sexually active.
Avatar f tn Many people think the right workout gear may not matter, but it does. From properly fitting running shoes to the right training weights, the gear you choose to use or wear can greatly impact your fitness results. Even the right workout clothes can make you feel more comfortable. Proper running shoes are essential. Sometimes opting for the cheapest pair or a pair that look pretty can be a big mistake.
Avatar f tn I am a former competitive athlete, cyclist and runner who received a lovely ICD in April of 2014 due to fainting episodes and sustained vtach all while running. I am 40 years old and female. I was also put on Sotalol 80 mg at the time. I got myself back up to running but nowhere near where I was before my ICD, which is ok with me! I am so happy to be out there! the 80 mg of Sotalol was really effecting me mentally and physically so in October of 2014 my EP cut my dose in half to 40 mg.
Avatar n tn I am 18 years old and have been running Track and Cross Country for 5 years. I noticed that when I run hard such as when I do a workout or run a race I gag violently. It always happens when I finish and usually also happens in the middle of my run. It started with my very first race in 7th grade and has never gone away or even diminished slightly. It is very painful and often slows down my running while in the process but I have never thrown up or felt sick.
