Avatar n tn ve been seeing a trainer and he says the best way to lose body fat is to walk at an incline (like 13) and at a pace of 2.9 he says try to do this 4-5x a week for at least 30 min ( I aim for 45 min) we also do weights 2-3x a week as we'll. and of course we all know watching what we eat which is the hardest for me, I train so hard then come home and eat crap and it pretty much wipes out my entire workout!

Avatar n tn You are probably not going to lose weight at first. You're replacing fat with muscle. It takes some time for the weight loss to occur, but it is mostly the result of changing your diet. Change to low carb, high fat and protien diet. Get rid of sugar and gluten.

Avatar f tn I dieted when I was 20 and lost 103lbs in a year. I ate low fat/ no fat and drank 3 Liters of water a day and did a 30 minute Taebo workout Monday through Friday. I had a baby and gained 120lbs and didn't really change anything. I was 249 when I delivered and now I'm 175lbs and I have been trying to get the rest of the weight off. I am wanting to lose another 40lbs and nothing seems to work. I thought it might have something to do with having my gallbladder removed three years ago.

If you exercise regularly and make changes to your eating habits, as your body fat percentage decreases, you’ll see improvements everywhere, including your thighs. Cardio will help you increase the number of calories you burn to help your fat loss. Weight training will build size in your gluteus maximus, which is the major muscle in your butt. Do three to five cardio workouts into your schedule every week.

Avatar f tn ve read several articles recently, saying that shorter, interval training is better for fat loss than long sustained periods of exercise. Muscle is much denser than fat, so if you're increasing muscle, it's quite likely you will gain weight. Pay particular attention to how your clothes fit, or take your measurements, periodically, to see if you are gaining muscle.
Avatar f tn Suggest you do not take additional Vitamin B supplementation if you do not need them. Taking vitamin B12 will not help you lose weight. There are no adverse effects associated with excess Vitamin B12 intake from food and/ or supplementation, however, why take extra when there is no need too. If you want to lose weight suggest eating a Heart Healthy diet which is a moderate fat diet.

Avatar f tn I don't recommend any kind of restrictive carb diet as there is a danger you can put the weight on again. I realise this is not an answer you were hoping to read, I just wanted to make you aware of it. You cannot spot reduce fat. Fat will leave various body areas when it wants to. The stomach is the hardest part to remove fat from and usually the last when all other body areas have had fat removed from. Just keep doing what you are doing and I promise the fat will go.

Im going to start walking on my treadmill today idk how long it will last because Im am short of breath doing just regular chores and I get really dizzy :-( Im not complaining just really unhappy I had lost 90 pounds and to see me put weight on hurts.

Avatar f tn No, I don't say don't try anything, but I also don't presume to be able to tell someone what's best for them because I've seen so many "proven" routines fail over time. I've come to believe that we all just do the best we can and hopefully what we choose won't come around to haunt us a few years down the road. I'm always, therefore, suspicious of the latest fads, but suspicious isn't the same as saying don't try them.

6918143 tn?1386340447 In the past, I was put on Adipex for a little while and only lost 6 lbs (while maintaining this food/workout regimen). Got off of Adipex and have gained it back. Honestly, I get so frustrated. I am putting in lots of effort and food sacrifices for nothing. I had one doctor suggest I go to 800 calories a day but another tell me that was dangerous and to stick to around 1200. it doesn't seem to matter.
Avatar m tn How old are you? Are you male or female? If you dont mind. As for the weight lifting not burning fat.....wrong. When you build muscle, muscle burns fat. Once you get those muscles moving, you burn calories all day. Probably not to the extent that you are losing it, but then that is why I asked your sex. Trust me, makes a difference. Does your Dr seem concerned about the weight loss? Do you weight yourself at the same time and in the same types of clothing, naked is best.

So now, I've been on metformin for about a week.. I was on a low fat high fiber diet before, switching to low carb is been tough.. any tips I mean I eat one chicken cutlery and I'm bloated and full.. a handful of baby carrots and grapes and I'm done.. any portion advise?
Avatar f tn When we want to get rid of body fat, there is no way to specifically burn fat from one part of the body. Doing situps won't burn the fat that is covering your abs and doing tricep extensions won't get rid of the fat that is covering your triceps. The only thing you can do is lose weight all around and eventually the problem area will also improve. The way to burn fat is through a calorie restricted diet in conjunction with an exercise routine that will burn calories.

2019518 tn?1328532621 I agree on the protein switch slightly and also the complex carbs. You might try journaling your food for a few days... keep fat at under 20%. I think a far better measure than BMI is fat content... also weight can vary as much as 8% day to day... so don't get discouraged but look at trend. If you have been following your workout for a while it is important to change it around occasionally. Perhaps switch mornings and evenings... or drop weights and add kettle bells...
