Pain management doctors check the database to ensure patients are only filling prescriptions written by them. Some people believe that paying cash for a prescription rather than going through insurance keeps it off the database but that is incorrect...all narcotic prescriptions filled appear regardless of how they were paid for.

The very idea of some kind of national gun registry was so offensive to the right that the legislation had to die at the hands of a Republican filibuster. It didn't matter that the bipartisan bill had no such database. It didn't matter that the bipartisan bill explicitly made the creation of such a registry a felony. All that mattered was that conservatives had a lie they liked, and which they used to great effect.

Avatar m tn I lift 50% of my previous weight and my muscles start tightening up almost immediately. Doctors in most states are required by law to check the drug database to ensure a patient is not obtaining prescriptions for controlled substances from multiple providers. They may also be required to report to law enforcement.
