Strength training, perform one to two sets of 10 to 15 repetitions of weight bearing exercises two to three times a week. If you don't have dumb bells then use resistance bands or machines. You can perform pushups against a wall and squats by sitting in a chair and then standing. You could join a yoga class.

Back when I was 14-17 I would join my father in the gym, but his trainer gave me different things to do to just be fit and toned. I do have some equipment at my house and my husband works crazy hours so we can't just go to a gym. Plus, I would like to look semi-decent to be able to even show up at a gym. (Yea, I've let myself go that bad.
Avatar f tn I have found that the stretch bands are great for resistance training. There are many (as in, almost too many) DVDs and other inexpensive guides for using the bands. I have one that looks like a rubber band on steroids and a couple more that have handles on them. I am able to use them for certain body areas (especially my legs) by looping them over door handles. My treadmill is a cross trainer so I get some arm resistance training on that too. Your problem may be finding too much information!

Panda They are group x classes and are great cardio that focus on HIIT (high intensity interval training). I used to take martial arts when I was in high school, so Body Combat and Turbo Kickboxing are right up my alley, next to any type of dance. I've always had a bad right knee due to Osgood Schlatter. Now my left knee is starting to act up due to knee effusion. Since I am older (33 yrs old), my joints, especially my knees, take the worst beating.

2009595 tn?1328842671 You just need to understand that your workout volume must I repeat MUST match your selected training frequency.You can either train a lot, but less often, or train a little, but more often. If you nail this concept perfectly, you’ll get results from whatever training frequency you choose. If you don’t you won’t.
Avatar f tn m even skinnier then I was before I got pregnant. I just know about it bcus I did it when I was a workout addict lol.. it gave me a really nice shape!! Then I got preggo and lost it hah. But I would do it after your 6 weeks postpartum is up.. because your uterus is still very open and pressure on your stomach wouldn't be good.
Avatar f tn Try sea bands. They helped me a little but then I had to get a prescription from my Dr. Walking is probably going to be the only excerise you will be able to stand until the day sickness let up. I feel your pain. Been there. I wish you the best.

Avatar m tn I am aware that you should not do heavy weight lifting with an ascending aortic aneurysm but what about resistance bands? It gives a pretty decent upper body workout but not sure it causes a spike in blood pressure. I would think it would be similar to rowing. Any thoughts?

I currently workout at Anytime Fitness! I love it and would recommend it to everyone! All the cardio machines have a 13 inch TV on them, and have the Dish Network! I love working out there and their weight machines are great! I also just started Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred! that 30 minute video will kick your butt!!
1415174 tn?1453243103 I have been weight lifting with a trainer for 2 years. I go 2 days on my own and 2 days with the trainer. I do have some pre-existing conditions with my shoulders. The right shoulder was frozen at one point but it has been fine (normal) for about 5 years except for some crackling noises. Also, I have done repetitive work and played competitive tennis and also violin for years. so those things may contribute to my shoulder problems. I have two ball like things. One in each shoulder.
