Avatar f tn Hello ladies, I'm a FTM here and before I got pregnant I was trying to lose weight and get more toned. Now, I'm 8w1d and I don't have the energy to go to the gym. Any recommendations for a good prenatal workout DVD? I was looking at Suzanne Bowen's Slim & Toned but still not sure...
773214 tn?1295135069 Once I gain some energy from this first trimester I would really like to start some sort of work out routine but I was wondering if any of you used a particular dvd or anything. I have been looking online and I am confused on which one to go with after reading the customer reviews, etc...I am not a hardcore type of girl but I don't want something TOO easy either....any recommendations? Once the weather gets nicer I will try to get outside and walk.
Avatar f tn I use to work out all the time so I must admit it knocked the wind out of me. It was very safe workouts but definitely work out at your own speed and make sure to take your time and take breaks when needed!
Avatar f tn I've been doing a prenatal work out dvd three times a week and I take my puppy for walks and I've been feeling pretty good.
Avatar f tn I like to work out with What to Expect workout DVD and Suzannes Slim and Toned DVD.
Avatar f tn Does any know of a good yoga dvd or other prenatal workout video? I need to work at Zen. :) Plus I normally do a workout video & jog to stay in shape but after I found out I was prego I stopped cuz my last two pregnancies I miscarried. But I'm finding I need some kind of outlet for my witchyness so I need a low impact workout.
483733 tn?1326798446 I also have all but the 1st of the Biggest Loser DVDs. They take advanatge of the DVD format and let you pick which workout you want to do at a given session so that you can customize the length and difficulty. I think that is neat. They do lots of squats, and the music is lame, but they are also good options considering my limitations. I have a small trampoline, and sometimes I just put that in the living room and sort of jog in place on it (I think I'd break it if I actually jumped!
Avatar n tn Yeah it good but It will work better if you workout 4 days a week even if you can just do 2 days at the try then try a workout DVD at home or walk for 30 to 45 min
Avatar f tn I never did yoga unil now my 2nd pregnancy and your right it's beautiful I love learning how to control my body and breathing all while focusing on my unborn baby aswell and incorporating it all together as one, I absolutely love it and i enjoy it as a hobby not as a workout which is even better :)
572651 tn?1530999357 one of the ads that have been running here lately is the one for MS ACTIVE WELLNESS and theiir DVD. This is probided by one of the pharmas and I have a copy. It is an excellent workout with three levels that everyone can do. It includes a very detailed booklet with photos and explanations of the exercises so you don't even havve to own a dvd player to benefit. It is free, so be sure to click on that link and order one.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have a workout plan for post c section. Just trying not to over do myself.
756140 tn?1294767094 Ok so as some of you know the past couple days have been pretty rough for me.. But today was AWESOME! I didn't get any sleep again last night, however, I haven't fallen asleep at all during the day today so I HOPE and think I will get a greats night sleep tonight and hopefully this will the start of a healthy sleeping pattern! I have also taken the advice of weighing myself once a day, instead of a couple time through the day. SO much better.
Avatar f tn So I'm 8 weeks and everyone keep telling me to not move around so much and not to lift things, they have me so scared I want to work out, besides the fact I feel like a blimp I read it's great for delivery and post prego, i want to order this DVD set it'd like a work out by trimester, has anyone tried it? Is it safe?
293845 tn?1227997530 Hey girls, I'm looking for a workout video to get me back in shape. I want one that I can feel sexy doing. I looked at Carmen Electra's aerobic striptease DVD but it got bad reviews. People said it wasn't much of a workout but they did feel sexier doing it. I also saw the Girls Next Door video and that one got better reviews, people said they were sore from the exercises. But it doesnt have any stripping or anything like that. Does anyone know of a good sexy workout video??
193609 tn?1292180293 I just did Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred DVD. OMG It about killed me! It takes about 25 minutes to complete. All you need is the DVD and a set of weights...I used 3lb weights and thought i was going to die!!! They have two people doing the exercises....one is for more advanced exercisers and the other is for beginners! Even the beginner workout is really hard and you will know you worked out when you are done! I feel great though, knowing I got a workout in!!!
Avatar f tn If u have a dvd player get you a workout video and try to workout every night before bed. You want to start out with a slow paced workout and build yourself up. Good luck & have a great time on your trip.
Avatar f tn Agree that you should eat lots of veggies - watch the fruit, though because it tends to have a lot of sugar that can turn to fat quickly, if not used up. Chicken and turkey are very good for you, but so are lean cuts of red meat. Meat, eggs, dairy are chock full of vitamin B12, which is essential for energy. While green tea is good for you, I've never had any luck with it helping with weight loss. A 30 minute work out or walk is good; aim for at least 3 days/week, if not more.
1285110 tn?1420147378 I've never wanted to use a kettle bell. I've seen some exercises that use momentum with it and the rule of thumb is that a strength training exercise or use of weights is supposed to be a slow, controlled movement. I use hand weights, 3 and 5 pounds. I also use a ball with hand weights. I don't know anyone that has a kettle bell but my sister and I don't think she has ever used it. I'll have to get it from her.
Avatar f tn Hi Les, welcome to the forum here. Idon't believe we have crossed paths yet - or at least that's what my faulty memory is telling me. Not knowing your personal situation it is a bit hard to offer suggestions that might work for you. I have one that I like that is Women's Health Total Workout in Ten! It is broken into ten minute segments- cardio, upper body, lower body and flexibility/balance. You can pick out the routine that you want to work on or do them all.
Avatar f tn My back is always in a constant pain to the extent is hard for me to stand up straight I work full time at a physical labor job so there's not much I cab do as far as taking it easy any suggestions im 26 weeks 5 days
Avatar f tn Home exercises like a fitness dvd can work fine

Avatar n tn I never started running again but would walk the 3miles instead. I also did a prenatal workout DVD (find on Amazon) every other day. Make sure to drink 9+ glasses of water a day. But always check w Ur dr.
8732981 tn?1400768789 Don't start a new workout routine that is intense. Walking is perfect until you talk to your doctor. Doing anything intense that your body isn't used to could hurt the baby.
Avatar f tn baby to workout. Nothing crazy-walk or get a prenatal workout DVD (can find on Amazon). When you have the baby you ONLY loose 15-20 lbs everything after that is Ur weight not baby. But staying healthy when prego will make loosing weight post baby easier. After baby don't do crash diets especially if nursing. It takes time. Eat rt & walk. Wait 6 wks before starting a excersise routine & nursing does help burn calories.
