ve seen conflicting opinions on this online and hoping for some clarification. Does the bulk of the shedding occur at the point at which any breakouts have occurred? For example, if there has only been 1 outbreak in 6 years and it was not in the vaginal or anal area (ie, it appeared 3-4 inches north of the anus), it is likely that that is where any shedding that does occur will occur?
I have seen many doctors all who believe it is herpes. I just feel at such a loss because it feels like the meds do nothing and I just have to wait it out all the time. I feel like it happens all the time and I constantly live in fear of outbreaks.
Final question: My wife has HSV-1 and is prone to cold sores a couple times a year. She uses abreva and they go right away. When I have outbreaks I kiss her all the time and NOTHING ever shows up for her. Is this normal?
so dr terri, says that the test for six weeks is bout 75% accurate, do you think i should go back in five weeks, just to be safe

Recently I've been diagnosed for HSV2, I first noticed a pain at the end of my penis. I don't know my test numbers because the DR sent the test away. I don't know if it was a LgG test. the paper said positive for both HSV1 and 2. The Pain on the end of my penis is what made me get checked out. First the pain was excruciating, then managable. but is it normal for the pain to be over 2 months? My Dr said the pain was in my head. My Gon test came back neg as well as hep B.

I really recommend pregnancy yoga in your 2nd and 3rd trimester, before that aqua aerobics, swimming, normal yoga and Pilates, gym workout, light jog, stationary bike and cross trainer, anything really as long as you are feeling well and comfortable doing it.
During this time I have been stuck at my desk for about two weeks sitting ..not moving very much...would this cause burning? after about 4-5 days the burning has moved away from my testicle ...i have noticed that one lymph gland ( under my left teticle) is slightly enlarged( no pain).....Is this herpes related?
When my sister was pregnant we could always feel my nieces little butt. It was so cute. She always has her butt against Terri's stomach. And if you pressed on it she would kick her foot out and you would see her foot imprint. It was amazing. I'm hoping to see the same things or more!

My question is my test result came back at 24 weeks from the guy i was with that i had my concerns about and it came out .98. I was tested at 7 and 14 weeks and they came out negative. my doctor thinks this is a recent infection my boyfriend since dec. says he is neg but is getting tested in a couple days. i had a canker sore when i got tested could this have spiked the test?
I have had two bioelisa type specific IgG tests come back negative at 8 and 12 weeks post encounter. However, I had a positive nonspecific IgG test at 10 weeks, and have been able to confirm the numbers for this.
My question is which should I believe? I understand that nonspecific testing is not helpful in discerning Type 1 or 2, but what are the chances that this is a false positive?
