Avatar f tn Many gyms have a wide selection of group classes that include yoga, aerobics, step aerobics and dance-style workouts such as Zumba. Joining a class for beginners can help if you feel unsure of how to proceed with your workout. Remember, you're likely not the only gym newbie in the class. As you exercise in a class, you might feel more confident and even find a future workout partner. Check the area of the gym that features a number of cardio machines.
1963845 tn?1376030809 s been like months, I did not go to the gym. Is there any possible way for me to work out at home without using weights? Oh, is there any substitute for weights?
Avatar n tn ve been seeing a trainer and he says the best way to lose body fat is to walk at an incline (like 13) and at a pace of 2.9 he says try to do this 4-5x a week for at least 30 min ( I aim for 45 min) we also do weights 2-3x a week as we'll. and of course we all know watching what we eat which is the hardest for me, I train so hard then come home and eat crap and it pretty much wipes out my entire workout!
Avatar f tn Is there any good recommendations on how to workout at home and the sort of things you can do for free even when your unfit ?
522699 tn?1250590716 m using, but not much is happening. At home, all you can do is use hand weights or ankle weights, or resistance bands.
Avatar n tn I dont go to the gym but i swim like twice a week. And use small weights to work out my arms at home. Ima need some muscle power for when my baby girl is here.
Avatar n tn This has been happening to me, too! It used to happen in the gym when I was weight lifting but since then I've been working out at home using lighter weights & higher reps but I still have this problem! Pulse is great, I feel good but my hearing just starts fading out of nowhere! I stopped taking all supplements to see if it would help but it makes no difference. I'm ALWAYS well hydrated.
773214 tn?1295135069 I have a yoga dvd that I got for christmas that is still in the package...lol... I am ashamed! But, I am not that lazy I promise. I walk for 30 minutes 4 times a week at least. I have a treadmmill at home, so I use that if it's raining and I do some stretches. I really need to do some light workouts for my arms, but I figure lifting the baby when he/she comes will get them right back into shape.
Avatar f tn I do cardio kickboxung twice a week followed by body sculpting that involves light weights (8-10lb weights) that's on tuesday and Thursdays. Wednesdays I usually take my dogs for long walks. I'm a hair dresser so the other days I'm working and am too exhausted and sore to do anything else as of right now. Keep exercising it's good for both of you.
Avatar f tn I would suggest that Covid makes everything a little more difficult. It seems to throw a psychological dragginess over doing things. So if your exercise routine isn't particularly inspiring, as Pax says, it would not only be hard to stick with in normal times, but to me it seems unsurprising that it would be harder to stick with it now. I agree that doing something that's a workout in itself but you like, is a good way to exercise.
Avatar n tn This prepares your muscles for the workout and helps prevent injury. Great warm-up exercises to do at home include jumping rope, jumping jacks, running and bicycling. Circuit training can be a very vigorous exercise depending on the intensity at which you do the exercises. If you feel light-headed at any point, stop immediately and sit down. Drink plenty of water between circuits and listen to your body don't overdo it!!
Avatar n tn I am just a recreational weight lifter who likes to visit the gym 3 times a week for an all round body workout and I am hoping that I can continue this without issues. Your advise if much appreciated as cant find anything that specifically addresses my questions on the net!!!

Avatar m tn For the last 4 years I have been lifting weights and trying to following a low carb diet plan. My day starts out at 0400 when I hit the gym for my workout. At this time in the morning my BGL is usually 103-113. After my workout my BGL is about 15-20 points higher. Is this normal??
Avatar m tn I'm a relatively active 38 year old man 1830mm 87 kg, healthy diet, smoker and occasional drinker. Currently my exercise is walking quite a bit (at least an hour a day, recommendation is 1/2 hour min) and a physically active job. My lack of strength shows at work. Sundays I use strap on weights on my walk. Going to the gym is out of the question - too expensive and impractical to get to after work (though I'm looking for a job at a place with a gym).
539156 tn?1281818356 The fronts feel rubbery like right after you workout with weights. The backs (hamstrings, glutes, calves) feel sore like I worked out with weights the day before. That adds up to weakness, heavyness....Is that what it feels like to be spastic?
Avatar f tn I exercise a few days a week with weights...is it okay to continue lifting weights now that I know I have a cyst on my ovary or could I be risking having it rupture? Is cardio okay to do? Thank you all.

Avatar m tn Sounds like it could be the way your blood is circulating oxygen through your body, especially if it is associated with exercising. Like alot of people who lift heavy weights (Anaerobic or "Without Oxygen) end up lightheaded and even pass out alot of times. If you are doing things that make you bare down with resistance or hold your breath like crunches, pull ups, weights, etc, it could easily cause that.
