Hi I'm 8+4 today. I'm having severe toothache from day b4 yesterday . It's my wisdom tooth ,left lower jaw n the tooth is totally decayed n extraction is the only thing to do.Dentist prescribed amoxicillin n paracetamol 650mg for the pain . Said that tooth extraction will be done only after delivery . But I'm in so much pain even after taking medicines. Is there no safe anesthesia that can be used on me during extraction ?

The pain last for seconds only, I looked in the mirror to see any damage in my wisdom tooth, suddenly the tooth cracked. I ignore it, because the pain subsided, no swollen jaw and face no tooth ache at all. Only in extreme cases will a dentist recommended a tooth extraction. The tooth is completely removed if the cavity is very bad and the tooth can't be saved.

My dentist said one of my back tooth was a bit weak and that they will need to check it up every 6 months. Well it hurts every once in awhile, but I can't have it checked because I have camp. if the problem is a wisdom tooth pull it. if you are using wisdom teeth as an example of never having a tooth pulled and another tooth is the problem get the root canal. root canals sound scary but they cause minimal pain and its better for the overall health of your mouth to keep teeth if possible. good luck!

I order to reduce the pain after wisdom tooth extraction surgery it is generally advised to bite on the gauze pad periodically. The pad should be removed as soon as it gets soaked in blood.
You can also try applying warm moist compresses on the cheek, apply ice packs, and gently rinse your mouth with warm salt water. This will help in reducing the swelling and pain.
The possibility of dry socket also needs to be looked into by your dentist.
My lower left wisdom tooth is infected. I am scheduled to get it extracted in a week from tomorrow. I first went to the dentist three weeks ago and he prescribed me amoxicillin, which I took and the pain and swelling went away. I then went to the oral surgeon a week later for a consultation. He said I had bone loss near the wisdom tooth from the infection, which scared me. He told me to wait to take another dose of amoxicillin until the day before the extraction.
I have no cavaties that i know of(ive been to the dentist several times within the last six months) and its not due to my recent wisdom tooth extraction since ive had that issue well before i had my upper right wisdom tooth extraction. I like to jump rope as one of my many exercises but i no longer can due to this issue.

If it's getting worse, I would go back and have them check for a dry socket. Usually the pain from an extraction will get better over time. If it all of a sudden gets worse, we always tell patients they may have a dry socket which is most common when lower wisdom teeth are extracted. It may feel like the upper jaw but this may be referred pain. I would have it checked out because they can pack some medicine in there to help it feel better.
I'm 36-5 and I got my wisdom tooth pulled today. Hoping to be able to eat on Thanksgiving. My back is cramping and I have to sleep in an upright position. Let's just say, everything is harder when you're pregnant.

It's 5AM and I just woke up with a bloodclot in my mouth, it's relatively large and there is now a huge hole where my UPPER RIGHT wisdom tooth was, a different spot than where the pain is coming from.
