Since you are already going for a consult, I would ask them about the impacted tooth as well since they have experience with it. Its possible if that wisdom tooth (#17) is not impacted for it to fill the spot of #18. I've seen it happen and it works beautifully.

It's been 8 days since I had wisdom teeth surgery to remove two of my right wisdom teeth. Yesterday, I had the stitches removed and the doctor said that everything looked great. While checking my teeth, I noticed a small hole in the lower part where my wisdom tooth was. I'm not sure if the same goes for the upper part as it's hard to see. Is this normal or should I go get it stitched? How long until my gums go back to normal?
I had my upper right wisdom tooth taken out on Friday. It was a pretty horrible experience, it took the dental studant abouot 45 mins to get it out.
My problem is that my molars around the extraction are realy painful. Its difficult to walk because there is such a throbbing pain every time I take a step or bend over. It hurts my surrounding teeth when I clench my jaw. Is this normal? Or could this be an infection? I also cant open my jaw very wide without pain.
ve read through some of the posts about people with bleeding gums, wisdom teeth removal and their concerns, mine however involves my wisdom teeth that have come through around 6 months ago, because the skin at the back is broken with the tooth coming through is this considered to be open wound? and a potential way for the virus to get into my blood, my wisdom teeth have never bled or anything like that but I just cant stop panicking about it. Any help or advice would be really appreciated.
I am going to have my impacted wisdom tooth and another descending wisdom tooth pulled. They just came in. I have been having nothing but pains in my sinus/tooth/ear area ever since having a deep filling done, which turned into a root canal. It has been more than 2 months and I still feel awful? I am terrified to have the wisdom tooth surgery. Any chance my pains are related? I still have sensitivity in the root canal tooth, which my dentist told me was not possible. Ugh.
Why doesn't he just fill the cavity? I never heard of pulling a tooth because of a tiny cavity. My dentist doesn't work like that. I lost one wisdom tooth because I injured it but the other three are fine and dandy and I intend to keep them. I don't understand this pull happy approach.
After looking at the area in a mirror I noticed that there was swelling of the inside of the cheek along the tooth line and a white fleshy lump hanging off the back of the jaw over the lower wisdom tooth. Every time I chew I have to be careful in order to prevent biting down on the skin. It is not very large and it is painful.
Could it possibly be a jaw bone fracture related to the wisdom tooth extraction? If so, what should I expect from a pain standpoint? How long is the healing process? Etc...
Any advice and/or insight is greatly appreciated. Havn't eaten much in 3 weeks, lost over 25 pounds the hard way! Thanks for your help!
i got my wisdom teeth pulled about two months ago but where my lower left one was removed there is a sharp portrution like a piece of tooth was left in the hole and there is some pain to is this something i should be concerned with.
Almost 2 years ago I had my lower left wisdom tooth removed, ever since I have had problems with my jaw. My jaw now pops, clicks, grinds, and makes crunching noises as well as locks. It causes me a lot of pain at times and seems to now be very sensitive to cold weather. I also notice that when opening and closing my mouth it seems like the alignment of my jaw is wrong, the right side appears to pop out when my mouth opens and the left does not.
I WENT TO THE DENTIST YESTERDAY, THEY EXTRACT MY WISDOM TEETH BUT A SMALL PART WAS LEFT INSIDE IT HURTS A LITTLE I'M REALLY CONCERN ABOUT THAT THE DENTIST SAID THAT IT WAS NORMAL BUT I NEED A SECOND OPINION PLEASE HELP ME HE ALSO HIT ME WITH SOMETHING AND NOW I HAVE A LOT OF TROBLE SWALLOWING WHAT I NEED TO DO
