Avatar f tn I had my upper right wisdom tooth taken out on Friday. It was a pretty horrible experience, it took the dental studant abouot 45 mins to get it out. My problem is that my molars around the extraction are realy painful. Its difficult to walk because there is such a throbbing pain every time I take a step or bend over. It hurts my surrounding teeth when I clench my jaw. Is this normal? Or could this be an infection? I also cant open my jaw very wide without pain.
Avatar n tn They are my top back two molars (not the wisdom tooth). One of these two teeth had a root canal this fall and had 4 roots. I have had such severe throbbing pain in my upper jaw it is unbearable. The pain feels like it's between the teeth, but shoots to my temple, around my eye, and below my ear. I went back to my dentist this past week, and he removed one of the temporary crowns (the one that had the root canal), cleaned/dug around it, and replaced the temporary crown.
Avatar m tn why is this frontal teeth pain happening?. will numbness in lower left lip go away?. when i push those frontal teeth having pain with my tongue pain worsens. is the pain because of tooth shifting?. or did alveolar nerve got any damage while surgery?. please tell me.
Avatar m tn I am 34 and have a ton of crowding in my bottom teeth. I was unable to have my lower wisdom teeth removed 5 years ago because of the risk of oral nerve damage. I was told that I had a 99% chance of having permanent nerve damage so they would only remove the uppers which I had done.
Avatar n tn A simple filling landed me in the ER with my face swollen so severly that my eyes swelled shut. I had my upper wisdom teeth (not impacted) removed 6 months ago and despite the fact that I don't smoke, take oral contraceptives, I ended up with a horrible case of dry socket that lasted a week and felt even worse than childbirth without pain meds. I was completely put out of commission for weeks.
Avatar n tn the bottom wisdom teeth were already out but leaning twards my other teeth causing them to be slightly impacted I suppose but I didnt need an oral surgeon apparently the dentist did the extraction. it took about an hour to do the one that was causing the pain and about 30 min to do the other one. The dentist was wonderful considering my lack of oral care thusfar, I skipped work for a day and went back today, when I got home I was throbbing and It hasnt stopped.
Avatar f tn I have already had all my wisdom teeth pulled. Sometimes the pain is also referred to my lower jaw. I did have a cold and fever a few weeks ago and just finished a course of antibiotics. The pain has gotten worse today and I've gotten a headache and earace because of the pain. Please help.
Avatar f tn Back in July I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed. I had a dry socket and got it taken care of but otherwise I healed up nicely. Recently my extraction sites have been giving me a dull throbbing pain at very random and short intervals. For a while I had been using a plastic syringe to clean out all four sites, but after I didn't need to do so anymore I gradually did it less and less until I figured I was able to brush out any debris with a tooth brush.
Avatar f tn I wish I could eat some :) I bought me a ice machine then like two weeks later both my wisdom teeth cracked on beef jerky.
Avatar m tn the pain quickly grew from that tooth around my jaw and to the other tooth that is biting against it (bottom left second from the back) i had my wisdom teeth removed already ... my whole left side of my jaw was throbbing and the pain also grew from that area up my cheek bone to my temple .... i dont have any medical conditions or i am not aware of any at the moment ....
Avatar f tn I have Heart disease with lower teeth throbbing and I just had stented in Aug of 2020, same two arteries that blocked 10 years ago. I also have an abscessed wisdom tooth and painful. My cardiologist felt that it wasnt blocked again and blamed it on the abscessed tooth and now he wont let my Orthopedic surgeon pull it, because he said i have to wait a year to be one on my Effient before i can get tooth pulled.
Avatar f tn t remember how my bottom wisdom teeth holes (they too were stitched) looked when they were healing. But I do remember getting rice grains stuck in them when the stitches were taken out. But I would say as long as there is no continued bleeding, and there is no pulsating pain, you should be fine. The yellowish film may be a scab. If you do feel more pain and sensations of throbbing, then do see the dentist straight away as this could be an infection. Gargle with salty water.
176495 tn?1301280412 It just depends on what teeth they are removing. If you are having some wisdom teeth pulled as well, they might do IV sedation. I would ask them. Sometimes it's difficult for the dentists to use nitrous when they are pulling so many teeth at once - because the equipment for nitrous gets in the way. I would call them and ask them what they are doing. Ask if they can do IV sedation. It's like a twilight thing similar to when you would have an endoscope or colonoscopy.
Avatar m tn Dental X-rays have revealed that nothing is wrong. My wisdom teeth are still intact, but 3 dentists and 2 oral surgeons have assured me that they do not need to come out and would not be causing the pain. The pain is like a sharp pressure in that area of my mouth. Almost feels like a sinus infection in that palate/gum region. When I press on my second molar, it tends to alleviate the pain momentarily, but it comes back. At times the pain is throbbing, other times it is almost non-existent.
Avatar n tn i have two impacted teeth on bottom and my wisdom tooth are rotten.....so sometime i have too much pain that i cant bear.....in 2009 i was in pain...but i dont go to the dentist...really there was fear in my mind...but then in march i go to the dentist and she take the x-ray and said that they will put me to sleep and will extract my four teeth...i was scared but not too much at that time...but after this when i oral surgeon told told me that because ur tooth is very close to the nerve...
Avatar n tn I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed last Wednesday (August 12th, 2009) My two lower teeth were impacted, the two on the top were slightly erupted. On the Saturday after my surgery I was drinking a milkshake and a bit of phlegm developed so instinctively I created a bit of a vacuum in my mouth to get it all together so I could spit it out. I immediately felt a pain in the lower right socket so I got a piece of gauze and put it back there and bit down on it. I was fine for a few days, until Tuesday.
Avatar m tn As for the healing from the wisdom teeth, it most likely just post-operative pain from the site and the fact its getting better is good. You could potentially look at getting steroids or pain medication.
Avatar f tn The ache may be from food being stuck in there and rotting away resulting in a bad taste. I just got my own wisdom teeth out about a week ago too and had that happen to me as well. Maintain your hygiene and it may resolve on its own. If not, probably dry socket and a visit to the dentist may help with that.
Avatar n tn the symptoms are teeth hurt, vomiting, mucsles hurt in stomach it has been going and going for a week and a half and i know my wisdom teeth should have been taken out about 5 yrs ago. and when i brush my teeth it is a reddish brown color.
Avatar n tn Do wisdom teeth effect the inner ear?
Avatar f tn I'm 16 and a half and my second wisdom teeth are just about to break through, every night I'm waking up in agony with the pain from one side of my mouth. I've tried taking ibuprofen and paracetamol and also using bonjela at the same time, but I'm still in so much pain, what can I do? My exams are soon and I don't want the pain to affect them!
Avatar f tn I had my wisdom teeth pulled over the summer. I was not pregnant but I couldnt imagine not having ibuprofen afterwards. I cant handle vicodin so I lived on ibuprofen. It was very painful for weeks afterwards, the bottoms were impacted. I would try to wait if u can, recovering will be painful when u cant take meds.
Avatar f tn I guess ever since ive been taking prenatals and ive been pregnant my wisdom teeth have been killing me! They were growing before I was pregnant but now im waking up with a sore jaw line and gums. Im not even sure if I can get them taken out while im pregnant. Has this happened to anybody else?
Avatar f tn Definitely see about having your wisdom teeth removed by an oral surgeon as opposed to a general dentist. Chances are with a general dentist, the most you would receive as far as sedation would be gas, although some dentists are now using what they call "sedation dentistry" where you take an oral medication about an hour before your appointment to help relax you.
