6323602 tn?1380323698 If there is not much room for the wisdom teeth to come through, they become impacted and can be extremely painful with facial swelling and throat problems. It may be wise to see the dentist or the doctor for an antibiotic as you are having difficulty swallowing. You won't experience facial swelling after the wisdom teeth are removed, but it will take a few weeks for the gums where the wisdom teeth have been extracted, to heal.
Avatar f tn I agree with the girls. Especially about cleaning them out if they are partially grown in. I have all four of my wisdom teeth but I was lucky in that they all grew in the right way and I have enough room in my mouth for all of them. But while they were growing in they would get really painful and I couldn't figure out why. I finally found that there was food and whatever else in there that was causing my gums to swell and be really painful.
Avatar n tn I had my wisdom teeth pulled, and everything went to plan. I had pain for about 1 and a half weeks. Then all my pain went away and i slowy used my jaw more, and started doing my regular day to day activities. Then suddenly about 4 weeks after the surgery i have had extreme pain on my lower right side of my jaw. It just started back up, out of no where. I didnt hit it, or accidentaly chew something hard. Also when i was recovering after the surgery my lower right side took the longest to recover.
Avatar n tn I recently had my wisdom teeth out, and since then I've had tinnitus in both ears that seems to come and go but is never completely gone. I only had two wisdom teeth, both on the bottom. In the days before the surgery I had some eruption pain, and the teeth were fully impacted, and I had some mild tinnitus. However, after I got them out, the tinnitus has gotten much worse.
Avatar m tn First off, I have been having swelling on the left side of my neck for some time now. I have suspected that it was my wisdom teeth causing this because I have needed them pulled for some time now. My top wisdom teeth are decayed and falling apart(They are so hard to take care of!) and do occassionally have pain in them when I bite down on them. but the bottom ones are coming in really crooked and dont have any pain from them.
Avatar f tn After getting your wisdom teeth pulled, you are likely to experience pain and swelling or there may be some bleeding. While your mouth heals, you have to be careful not to dislodge the blood clot or harm your healing gums. For more concern, I would suggest you to visit to a surgeon with whom you have your teeth surgery.
Avatar n tn If there is a severe infection, going to the ER is a good option, especially if there's swelling and pain. The swelling indicated that the abscess has spread out of the jaw bone and into the surround jaw/face area. This can travel quickly through the head and be a dangerous situation. Best to go to the ER to get it checked out before it becomes worse. I would also recommend getting the offending wisdom tooth out as soon as possible to prevent any future risk.

Avatar f tn My husband is 21 and the dentist says he needs his wisdom teeth taken out. They are not impacted but they are growing in crooked and will not grow out all the way and are causing a bacteria build up. If we wait until they all pierce through the skin can he simply get them pulled and not have oral surgery.
Avatar f tn A mild swelling may occur in many cases. Here I found information on wisdom teeth ( www.webdentist.
Avatar m tn None of my fiance's wisdom teeth are impacted, but one of them is partially erupted, and he got some food caught between the tooth and gum, which led to an infection. It was minor, according to his dentist (I asked if it could be life threatening and she laughed), and she said there was a very small abscess which went away. He took penicillin and did topical antimicrobial and he says he feels totally fine now. (he never had a fever or swollen lymph nodes- just some swelling at the gum).
Avatar m tn I want to know why is it necessary to remove wisdom teeth? What are positives except that removing wisdom teeth will not affect other teeth lining and may prevent chances of infection around wisdom teeth? What are negative sides? I am tired of this procedure or that procedure and going to here and there, and now this. I don’t want to complain but I am already struggling with poor general health, stress, anxiety and insomnia and my GP is no help.
Avatar n tn , i searched on the net and found out its my posterior cervicsl lymph node, it hasnt increased in size its swollen, u can only tell if u look close.. Ive been told for years from dentists that my wisdom teeth have to be removed and 4 weeks before the swelling apeared i went to the dentist and the dentist gave me antibiotics for my wisdom teeth and urged me to set an apointment to get them removed.
Avatar m tn I found a forum where people felt the same way and felt better when they had their impacted wisdom teeth removed. I have 3 wisdom teeth and the one on the top is pushing on my sinus track. Could this be causing my lightheartedness? None of my wisdom teeth hurt or are giving me any trouble.
Avatar n tn I have all four wisdom teeth and have never had a problem, there was enough room for them all to come in without bothering any other teeth. On the top two, they are both broken in half. Until now, neither has given me any problem. My husbands work insurance is coming in in a month so I will be getting my teeth taken care of but until then I have a problem. On my left upper side, it was excrutiatingly painful, the gum around the tooth was swelling, there was pus/blood, and excess saliva.
Avatar n tn About a month ago i had a wisdom tooth taken out. It was healing ok but 5 days ago while biting a sandwich my jaw made a loud popping sound and since then i am not able to open my mouth more than an inch. i also have alot of swelling. What coul this be?
Avatar m tn When there is no room, or very little room in the jaw, top or bottom, the wisdom teeth have no room to grow through and can cause a lot of pain and swelling. If you feel this could be a wisdom tooth trying to come through, you will need to see your dentist. The other possibility is swollen glands or a blocked salivary gland which may be a viral or a bacterial infection, and if this is the case you will need to see your doctor. Let me know how you get on.
1842266 tn?1318860459 There can be a large amount of symptoms that can indicate problems with your teeth. There could be pain, swelling, fever, bad taste or smell, pus drainage, bleeding, etc. An abscess can spread to various parts of the body, from the head region down to the neck to the chest cavity. Its hard to really simplify your question because anything could potentially be a symptoms of your teeth's infection.
Avatar f tn t even yawn in peace anymore or even brush my teeth properly without feeling pain when I try to open my mouth more. This has gone on for three days. I feel a swelling-like bump when I touch the outside of my face. At first I thought it was because of my only grown wisdom tooth because that side of my mouth is where I feel my jaw is locked. That wisdom tooth hasn't bothered me ever since it first started growing, so I didn't think it's because of the tooth.
1313145 tn?1273789472 Has anyone experianced this before? Would getting my wisdom teeth extracted cause my teeth to move closer together? I know that seems crazy, but I am wondering what is wrong!
Avatar f tn I got my wisdom teeth removed 2 days ago and my swelling hasn’t went down. When I checked my mouth I had a yellow bump on top of the area where I removed my wisdom tooth there’s no pain but it is veryuncomfortable. I take my antibiotics I have been prescribed and follow the doctors instructions. Should I be worried?
Avatar m tn I had all four wisdom teeth extracted one week ago. They were diagnosed as "full bony impacted". In the days following the procedure, the left side of my face was much more swollen than the right, and has been more sore for the entire time. I ate only smoothies and other liquidy foods until today, when I went back to the oral surgeon for a follow up evaluation and he told me I should be chewing and stretching the muscles around the extracted areas.
Avatar f tn Looked like the wisdom tooth had protruded more through my gum. Still having severe mouth and teeth pain on left side. It was hard for me to pinpoint the source. Dentist sent me to Endodontist for # 14 root canal. (jan 23, 2009) Back to dentist Jan 29, 2009, still pain. Dentist wanted to start over, back to before fillings. Drilled out all three # 15, # 14, #12. (upper left), cleaned, rinsed, put temporary fillings. Still have pain, swelling on left side. Have been weary of hot/cold.
Avatar dr m tn my teeth used to have small gaps and were perfectly straight. Never had orthodontics as a child. I did have my wisdom teeth removed at 18. Since my teeth have become very crowded, to the point that they are pushing one on the top and bottom out. I have also had TMJ issues, grinding of teeth and wore a night splint for many years. They re-aligned my jaws, but they have since moved back since I quit wearing the splint.
