Avatar n tn It has been more than 2 months and I still feel awful? I am terrified to have the wisdom tooth surgery. Any chance my pains are related? I still have sensitivity in the root canal tooth, which my dentist told me was not possible. Ugh. Am I too old for surgery?
Avatar n tn Hi My daughter (16 years old) had her wisdom teeth out about 16 days ago. She had "cysts"(what the oral surgeon called them) around her bottom 2 wisdom teeth and the top 2 teeth were impacting the sinuses so he had to put extra stitches in to close the sinus. The bottom left one was the worst and had to have an extra long incision cut into it. It would not quit bleeding so it was packed with gauze and we returned 4 days later for removal of the packing.
Avatar m tn I want to know why is it necessary to remove wisdom teeth? What are positives except that removing wisdom teeth will not affect other teeth lining and may prevent chances of infection around wisdom teeth? What are negative sides? I am tired of this procedure or that procedure and going to here and there, and now this. I don’t want to complain but I am already struggling with poor general health, stress, anxiety and insomnia and my GP is no help. and I see a psychiatrist, who suggests meds.
Avatar f tn The only thing they can do it a routine check up and maybe clean your teeth. I need my wisdom teeth out as well but I gotta wait until Jan.
Avatar n tn Ok. So you had TWO wisdom teeth removed from the lower and nothing on the upper? I don't think its possible for the wisdom teeth to "jump" to the palate. Try getting your splint adjusted on the top palate area and see if that makes a difference. I wouldn't suggest you stop wearing your splint though because it may affect your TMJ.
Avatar m tn However if it is tooth infection then even an extraction may sometimes be necessary. If the infection is in the upper teeth then it can aggravate the sinus problem. Discuss with your dentist. Hope this helps. The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar m tn I found a forum where people felt the same way and felt better when they had their impacted wisdom teeth removed. I have 3 wisdom teeth and the one on the top is pushing on my sinus track. Could this be causing my lightheartedness? None of my wisdom teeth hurt or are giving me any trouble.
Avatar n tn Yesterday, I had three molars removed, two of them wisdom teeth. I also had to have a sinus flap done after the removal of the top molars. I was given antibiotics and Vicodin to take, which I have done so on schedule. So far I've felt ZERO pain. The post-op instructions all say to keep an ice pack on for swelling, which I have not used because there is no swelling so far.
Avatar n tn I had all four wisdom teeth extracted just over three weeks ago. The wounds seem to be almost fully healed, but a truly awful odour is coming from my nose. The more deeply I inhale, the stronger the smell. I would liken it to the smell of excrement or of a rotting dog's bone. I also sometimes get a bad taste from the drip at the back of my mouth. My nose isn't at all runny or blocked, and though i've tried to blow it thinking that there is some foul smelling mucus, nothing comes out.
Avatar f tn t seen any explanations as to why UNPROTECTED oral is not considered risk exposure (I also specified that my wisdom teeth are coming in, and with wisdom teeth coming in, I presume BLOOD is present). If you can't explain, maybe someone else a little more polite CAN?
Avatar f tn Definitely see about having your wisdom teeth removed by an oral surgeon as opposed to a general dentist. Chances are with a general dentist, the most you would receive as far as sedation would be gas, although some dentists are now using what they call "sedation dentistry" where you take an oral medication about an hour before your appointment to help relax you.
Avatar m tn I am a healthy male in my late twenties. I had wisdom teeth extraction surgery 4 weeks ago. The doctor said nothing about a complication after the surgery, but I realized quickly that I have a hole at the location of my upper left wisdom tooth extraction site to my sinus. I am truly having a miserable time since then. I had a mild nose bleed the day after the surgery from both sides.
Avatar n tn I recently had my wisdom teeth out, and since then I've had tinnitus in both ears that seems to come and go but is never completely gone. I only had two wisdom teeth, both on the bottom. In the days before the surgery I had some eruption pain, and the teeth were fully impacted, and I had some mild tinnitus. However, after I got them out, the tinnitus has gotten much worse.
657020 tn?1238037518 When I was 16, I was supposed to have the teeth next to my wisdom teeth pulled out to make room for my wisdom teeth, but I only had one of them pulled. I do apologize for the lengthy post, but it's hard to ascertain which symptoms are caused by which conditions. Thank you.
4518471 tn?1355798857 So I had my wisdom teeth just over a week and I am still in pain not as much when I first got them taken out and this pass friday I called the nurse and she said to stop taking the strong pain killers "hydro" and have been really like feeling sick but did not have a cold or anything just felt bad.
Avatar n tn i got my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday ( the 6th of march) and later in the day i noticed a little red strip coming off left side of lower lip. i was possibly exposed to hsv-1 nearly two months ago by kissing a woman with no noticable signs of anything on mouth, lips, etc. my boy even checked out her mouth when talking to her and said so. also, to note quickly i had an igm/igg herpes select test three days after said exposure and i was negative for both types of herpes.

Avatar f tn I got my wisdom teeth removed when I was 17. All 4 were impacted and were removed at the same time. I'm now 23 and for the passed few years I've occasionally felt something hard and pointed when I press my tongue to the area where my upper wisdom teeth used to be. It never caused any discomfort until now.
Avatar n tn About two weeks ago I was referred to an oral surgeon for wisdom teeth extraction. All four teeth are impacted and need to be extracted, and it is quite painful. After they took the X-Rays, they told me what procedures I needed to have done. They told me I'd need to have the teeth extracted, and that I'd need a bone graft for each tooth that was removed, and that the bone graft was $350 a tooth.
Avatar n tn I had 2 lower wisdom teeth, and one was removed a month ago. Those teeth would ache when I developed sinus pain from allergies. It was a dull ache, and the sinus pain was much worse. Now the side where the tooth was removed is very painful when my sinuses act up. It hurts into the jaw, and I need pain meds. Is this normal?

Avatar n tn Went to a new dentist, who seemed shocked that I had three wisdom teeth still in my mouth. Said I should get these out to avoid future problems. Is it necessary to take these out NOW? They are not causing any discomfort.
