Common Questions and Answers about Why take zocor in the evening

zocor

Avatar f tn After the recommendations, who prescribes them? I think in the uk the drug companies influence the professors, who in turn try to influence Doctors. It was announced not long ago that it would be a huge benefit if kids took statins. I can't help but wonder what's next, maybe give your pets a statin a day? Personally I agree with some Doctors who say Statins haven't really been proven.
Avatar n tn I currently take 150mg of Zocor per day. Recently i have developed a cough, which I can deal with but when I cough I get pain shooting though my head. It takes a few minutes to go away and then things are find. Should I be worried.
514523 tn?1215832667 Thank you very much ! I was never put on thyroid meds after the TT and I believe it was a ear, nose and throat Dr that did my surgery back then. I didn't have a computer back then to explore my options like we do now. Thats for the advice! Im not gonna take the zocor. I've been dieting since Feb and lost 35 pounds so i think I can manage a cholesterol lowering diet plan. I just dont want to be over medicated. And I suspect my thyroid to be the problem with the hyertension.
Avatar n tn t take Zocor last night, and this morning I noticed about a 75% improvement in my symptoms. Is anyone else familiar with this?
Avatar m tn Have your doctor write you a prescription for it, you will probably feel better on it. Another good thing to take for the thyroid is Iodoral Iodine, however, it is a good idea to have the doc order the Iodine Loading Test for you and then test you for iodine levels. You can also add kelp, this is natural iodine and good for the thyroid, whether it be high or low. L-Tyrosine, an amino acid is good for thyroid support too. Why are you are Zocor, this is for high cholesterol.
Avatar n tn Be aware, coronary heart disease may not be increasing but there is an epidemic of Heart Failure in the western world, and the disease is devastating! The answer to heart disease is not more drugs and surgery! Diet and lifestyle changes may not be easy, but hey we are talking about the quality of your life here.
Avatar m tn The only thing I would do is increase the fish oil, I take 1200 mg three times a day. Also, look closely at the label, some are much more potent than others. You want one with the highest levels of EPA & DHA, some have as little as 300 mg of each. Also, really work the exercise to your limits but don't push it. Make sure your doctor is in agreement with what you plan on doing.
Avatar n tn In an effort to increase my HDL, I take Niaspan & Zocor.....Recently my MD upped the Zocor from 5mgl. to 10mgl.... Last couple weeks, have had more trouble sleeping, usually waking up after a dream (not nightmares, but somewhat vivid dreams)...I've checked out few sites, & saw that statins can cause sleep problems....Have others here had sleep problems while taking a statin?........
Avatar n tn Its good that he took you off of the Zocor, as statins have also been linked to liver damage (which, I am sure, is why he took you off of it). I would guess that you are going to find that your enzymes start trending downward after being off the Augmentin and Zocor. I would suspect that the combination of drugs (which are known to be potentially harmful to the liver) could have caused the elevation of your AST...but that is just my guess.
428155 tn?1203688894 As I was taking simvastatin, I was in fibrillation 17% of the time; 1 month after I stopped simvastatin, the level was down to 0%. I am now experimenting with alternative cholesterol control methods: Omega 3 gels, ground linseed, charcoal. I may also try red yeast rice extract, which got my cardiologist excited, since it is supposed to be quite effective too. Red yeast rice was, in fact, used to synthetise the first statin. Avatar n tn My blood pressure has been low, in the range of 90/60 since the surgery but the cardiologist wants me to continue the Benicar. He said it's "good for the heart". Has anyone ever heard of this before? My understanding was that Benicar is for high BP. Also, I have been feeling very down and blue a lot of the time. What could be causing this other than the fact that I just (3 weeks ago) had open heart surgery.
Avatar f tn Please follow the advice of your PCP and get all the blood tests done, take zocor regularly to keep your cholesterol levels under control. Hope this helps!
305544 tn?1197997610 Hello everyone, I was wondering if most of you feel better at any certain time of the day. I have noticed that I feel my best in the evening, and the worst in the mornings when I am attempting to get ready for the day. I know that perhaps the warm shower may pose a problem, but I am sometimes really cold and it takes a while for my to warm up. I go to my regular Dr. on Monday. Any suggestions or important questions you think I should ask?
Avatar n tn Why don't you take it in divided doses. I take 3 five hundred doses three times a day and it doesn't bother me much.
Avatar n tn For two years I took Zocor for the purpose of lowering my Cholesterol. When I complained to my doctor about my body aching all over she suggested I discontinue using the Zocor for several weeks. As time passed I realized a lessening of body aches so I decided not to go back on the Zocor. It has now been 5 months since I have taken Zocor. Meanwhile, I have been losing weight (about 5 pounds) without changing my diet. I realized that my pants were baggy in the thighs and seat.
Avatar f tn I have what seems to be the same vision problems as "fibromed". My vision gets blurry and I feel the need to rub them -- it seems like there is a film of saran wrap over my eyeballs and I can't peel it off. My eyes get more tired as the day goes on.
Avatar f tn Just got new script for Synthroid combined with Cytomel and my Endo wants me to take the Synthroid and half the dose of the Cytomel in the morning and the rest of the Cytomel in the evening. My question is if there is anyone who has a similar script, do you take the evening dose before bed or before dinner? Thanks.

Avatar n tn I can see the first two tests, but why the LDH? From what I could read on the web, the LDH test can show whether there is tissue damage in other parts of the body which can help an oncologist determine if anything else is going on other than what was found during surgery. Could all of this be the oncologist wanting to establish a baseline for me before I start Tamoxifen and/or to make certain I am in good health before I start the drug?

Avatar f tn A moderate amount of irregular heterogeneous plaque is seen in the carotid bulb and proximal internal carotid artery. This produces a 50-79% stenosis of the carotid bulb and proximal to mid internal carotid artery. The ICA/CCA ratio of 3.07 (right) and 1.21 (left) indicates a less than 60% internal carotid artery stenosis. No evidence of stenosis was seen in the external carotid artery. The vertebral artery is patent with a normal direction and velocity of flow (antegrade).
Avatar f tn In mid December 2007, I was rushed in again due to a different artery being clogged. Both times the cardiologist blamed it on Zocor 80mg. I was put back on Lipitor 80mg after the October event. They additionally informed me that the arteries were all under 45% clogged after the October intervention, There were hematoma and femoral nerve palsy after the October episode as well, so they went through the wrist in December. Can an artery clog wthin two months?
