Why take prilosec in the morning

Common Questions and Answers about Why take prilosec in the morning

Avatar n tn Sometimes I run during the lunch break and sometimes during the eavening at 6PM. Whenever I run in the evening, I get blood in my stool the next morning; the blood is black in color. I was told that gstartitis can cause bleeding. But, what has running in the evening to do with it. I was told that marathon runners have ulcers. But I am not a marathon runner. I also noticed that if I run with in 3-4 hours after a heavy lunch, I tend to blled.
Avatar f tn This is day 6 for being on the prilosec and I still wake up nauseated-----how long did it take for the antacid drug to work? Did it take some time to regain your appetite? I eat but have not gained any weight back and I eat small meals---feel almost as bad some days as before the surgery---have had a few days with no nausea but only about 4 days out of two weeks---it is worse in morning and gets better by evening-----was this the same for you?
Avatar n tn the pain only lasts for a few hours in the morning and then disappears for the rest of the day.i hope there are answers and solutions for the problem....
Avatar n tn During the night quite often and in the morning and usually just the left eye but sometimes in the right. Just wondering if you have tried anything that helps or have found out any new information!
Avatar m tn Then, like clockwork, about 5pm a flareup begins with bad gas and abdominal cramps and lasts 3-4 hrs. Since I take the prilosec at 6 am I wondered if at that time it is wearing off.
Avatar n tn Sounded like it may have benefited you early in tx when nausea can be rampant but wasn't necessary later since you didn't seem to have classical GERD or reflux. Regarding BP, actually it's the highest first thing in the morning when you get up. Not coincidentally, that's also when your heart attack risk is the greatest. Chevy, Yes, things do slow down as you approach end, perhaps some sort of Interferon warped Einsteinian time/space phenomena.
Avatar m tn Everything came back ok, but i still suffer from the morning vomiting. He says its just acid reflux, but why wont the prilosec work? It can completely go away by lunch or it can continue for the entire day until i can finally keep something down. Sometimes its happens the night after of drinking, but not always so i think it is something else. maybe allergic to some type of food? Please any advise is welcomed and so appreciated. Im way too young to be dealing with this crap.
Avatar n tn I am ok, but if I wake up in the morning hours; I am in severe pain - in the lower back (kidney area, right and left hip (on the sides) and upper back in the middle. After about 30 min to 1 hr; it goes away. I have a sedentary job and if I sit too long, my hips will ache again and makes it slightly painful to get out of chair, but nothing like the morning.
Avatar f tn I also have been experiencing mild-diarrhea and heartburn. The sickness seems most prevalent in the morning, but i don't really feel all that well during the day or in the evenings either. Does this sound like Acid Reflux? Not sure what to think. Help! I just want to feel better. Any ideas? :( This discussion is related to GERD/HEARTBURN HEALTH CHAT ~ REGISTER NOW.
Avatar n tn I am extremely nauseated in the morning, feel shaky, lightheaded etc. By 2 or 3 in the afternoon I begin to feel back to my normal self. It is so difficult to function in the mornings feeling so awful. I've been taking prilosec, that helps a little. I have been to the ER as well bc the lightheadedness was getting so bad. I have an upper GI this week. I'm dying to know what is causing such problems. Let me know if you find anything out about yourself.
Avatar n tn Sounds like the exact same thing that I have been experiencing for the last nine months! The nausea for me was the worst in the mornings, and I seemed to do better later in the day. At first my doctor thought I was pregnant, but this was negative, then they told me I had anxiety so I was on Zoloft for six weeks with no change in my condition. Soon the nausea was so bad that I would run out of church, the grocery store etc.
Avatar f tn Also, will taking a probiotic do me any good since I take the Prilosec and have no stomach acid? I MUST take the Prilosec as I have funky cells in my stomach. What do you think?
Avatar f tn My main concern is the phlegm/mucous in my throat. I take nasonex and prilosec (for suspected GERD) but nothing seems to help. ANy suggestions on what this could be or what I can do?
Avatar n tn so nothing is different other than the tramadol is gone but now when i wake up in the morning i look pregnate and my stomach burns and akes... got any idea why?
Avatar f tn I know about morning sickness but I have been pregnant twice and one of those times I did feel this sickness in the morning and if I didn't get sick I was sick all day. That started at five weeks. This time I would say I was about five weeks again. But the negative test has my mind somewhat at ease about pregnancy. I just hate that feeling every morning. I guess here is another thing I am going to have to face on my own. Thanks again.

Avatar n tn I am taking a prilosec otc in the morning and one before bed. Thyroid levels out of whack seem to cause acid reflux for some people. I also took quite a bit of Naproxen for the inflammation, but stopped taking that since the problem was acid. Walgreens sells wal-proxen which is a weaker Naproxen and it worked quite well for me. I kind of felt like real tight in my throat and it was all caused by the acid, so if thats what your feeling you might want to try some different anti acids.
Avatar m tn He is on Denamarin ¼ tablet for small to mediun dogs, 1 Prednisone tablet 5mg in the morning, ½ 250mg Metronidazole pill in the morning, and ¼ Prilosec in the morning! At night he only gets ¼ Prilosec! He has been holding his own for about a year now. Yesterday he started the head tilt and really stiff walking. He pants and drinks lots of water. He was diagnosed with high liver enzymes. He does also have some mouth/teeth problems but can’t go under the anesthesia to get a dental!
Avatar m tn or physical therapy? Those have both also helped in the past for me.. but the PT sometimes aggravates my back but the longer I stuck it out the more relief I had. The cortisone injections while not the most fun, have given me relief for a short period as well. Still looking for that *magic* pill.... LOL!
Avatar m tn Fatigue is the main symptom I have, but other symptoms include black eye floaters, somewhat sensitive to bright sunlight, dizziness upon standing after lying or sitting, constant yawning, I force myself to workout even though I am usually much too tired, poor concentration, and a lot of the time I can feel the exhaustion in the front/top part of my head.
Avatar m tn Well, I woke up at three o'clock in the morning to pee and went back to bed where the whole thing started again. Now I don't know what to do. I'm going to experiment with taking them for two weeks and see if that sets a pattern where it'll get my body used to sleeping all night. Frankly I wouldn't mind being addicted to them if it'll make the (what I guess must be unconsious) stress. I mean, it's only eight dollars a bottle.
Avatar n tn Looked through several web sites and read several forums and realized that it may have something to do with the phlegm in my throat. In the morning I gag and I am constantly swallowing to get the phlegm out from the back of my throat. The taste and feel of it back there makes me nauseated so I try and eat something to removed it hoping it will push down with food.
12183454 tn?1424007595 I also have Reflux issues, or GERD. As long as I take two prilosec a day in good. And then my back. I jacked up my back a few years ago moving a sofa. The MRI said it was a corroded disc? Something like that. Said id prolly need Surgery and shots in back to control pain. I cant stand or walk longer then 10 to 20 minutes without my legs going compleatly numb and burning like they are in fire. My under legs and thighs have been should going numb for years. Both legs. Im a mess.
Avatar n tn Without enough bile soup, the fat wraps around the food waste, giving your intestines a hard time to absorb and move them around. I wake up in the middle of the night because of this and wake up in the morning extremely thirsty and tired. I found to work around this, you need to eat low fat, and take vitamin supplements such as Centrum. After 3 days you can feel better. If not, look into Celiac Sprue and stay on a gluten free diet for a few days. Just my 2 cents. Hope it helps through.
Avatar n tn i take 1 in the morning and the constant burping comes back at night so i take 1 at night. its the only thing i've found to work. glad i found something. try it.
Avatar f tn I am getting a sharp pain under my left rib, short of breath, and golf ball in my chest. Dr. said it could take 8 weeks, but I will get better. Hope he's right. I have a mild fever just about every day which makes me think there is an infection. Humm..
Avatar n tn I have the exact same problem. In the morning the throat tightening is not too bad, but by pm i cant even swallow water. I was diagnosed with acid reflux disease and put on 2 prilosec a day; one in morning, one at night. I have stopped all caffeine intake, dairy, chocolate. I still am fighting this, somedays I think my throat is just going to close up. My thyroid was big, but they are saying this is not the problem and the synthroid has controlled all the other symptoms, except this one.
Avatar f tn I was also told to take the Synthroid in the am and Prilosec in pm. I had not considered Prilosec as a possible reason, but I had noticed that my temp. had gone down and I felt the need for more thyroid. When I understood the need to check free T3 and the doctor checked it, I found that I was not converting T4 to T3 very well. So starting 4 days ago, I was switched to a T4/T3 type of med.---Armour thyroid. I felt better after the very first day and now I feel great.
488724 tn?1253554835 Finally, if you can, get Manuka honey with a UMF of at least 16 (the higher the better), and take 2 tsp per day. (Manuka's a bit expensive though, so start with the DGL). This should work as a good patch up for now, things you can start today, but go see a gastroenterologist ASAP.
Avatar n tn From the first day this started it did it every day, usually in the morning after I get up and have breakfast. In about a hour or so, it would subside.I always would start to think, o.k. what did I do? did I have something with too much caffeine or sugar? Since I was two years old I had been told I use to sip coffee at that age. So I always drank coffee. The second thing I started to feel was a one time like a beat or thump in my chest. As soon as you feel it, it is over with.
