milk

278664 tn?1319840159 Ok so a week ago I got really sick, throwing up and diareaha. I lost alot fluids that night and I'm breastfeeding. Well since then my milk has been very low. I have been trying to pump after each feeding to make sure I empty the breast to stimulate more milk, but it's not. I have been drinking alot of fluids, eating well. I've had to supplement almost every night with formula or with pumped milk.
Avatar f tn My baby was in the nicu and got used to using bottles and gets too frustrated to wait for my milk when breast feeding so he pulls away so I just pump and feed him using bottles but throughout the day my output is low and my stock in the fridge is running low, what can I do to quickly boost my supply?
Avatar n tn So for the first week and a half my breasts were feeling full & heavy. My son is now 13 days old & since Wednesday my breasts have been feeling squishy & soft. I'm still able to nurse frequently & I only pump occasionally. But I'm worried that maybe my milk supply is running low & that I won't have enough for my baby. I also have some pain in my right breast. There's no redness or warmth it just hurts a bit when I push my breast inward from the side.
741877 tn?1265950200 this is also another reason why I thought my milk supply is dwindling... I did notice that after a nice warm shower my right breast is leaking milk.. I guess this is a good sign that there's still some milk there??
796867 tn?1255206807 Wow congrats momma. Glad to hear everything worked out well for you- so fast. I'm jealous about your milk supply. Twns have been here a week today and my milk is still very low. Congrats!!
Avatar f tn I believe it's pretty normal. The breast can leak colostrum as early as 16 weeks pregnant.
Avatar f tn Hi my baby boy is 2 months already but i wanted to know if any mommas on here know what helps produce more breastmilk? My baby was born premature so my milk is helping him a lot. I've been pumping every of his feelings. (2-3 hours) Please help. Want to produce more milk for my little man.
Avatar f tn I breast fed my daughter and I always had extra to put in the fridge. I just had to pump at the time she usually had to feed and I kept producing alot of milk.
Avatar f tn t the right forum but I feel more comfortable asking questions here...I had my daughter on the 9th and at first I had a really good milk supply where my breast would become engorged every two hours if I didn't pump or feed regularly....and I was pumping 2/3 ounces from each breast every time.....now I can hardly get an half an ounce :(....I try to have my daughter on my breast every two hours but it seems like she gets so irritated because nothing is coming out....
Avatar n tn I've heard that breastfeeding regularly works better than the pump to improve supply. It's still early, keep trying. Your milk supply should kick in soon. Some women also take a supplement called milky which supposedly helps.
Avatar n tn m worried about breastfeeding feeding. When should my milk come in? I do not want to put my baby on formula, what if my milk does not come in before delivery? How does this work?
Avatar f tn My first day after he was born I had to work very hard for a few drops but as the days went on I made more and more until I was able to fill 2oz containers each time I pumped. Now that my son is up to 35cc of milk in a bottle plus 15-20 minutes breast feeding every 3 hours, my milk supply has plummeted. I thought the more he fed and the more I pumped the more milk I would produce. But it's the opposite. Now I'm barely making 20-25cc each time I pump. It's stressing me out.
Avatar f tn Thank you!
Avatar f tn Any new moms having problems with breastfeeding? My daughter is 2 weeks old and my milk supply is still low when I pump it's only 1oz from both breast sometimes less so I had to put her on formula which breaks my heart because I wanted to exclusively breastfeed for 3 months and then do both when I go back to work but I had no choice.
Avatar f tn I pumped for the next 8 months of her life so she had a full year of breast milk. It droveme nuts, my supply suffered, but I did it so yes, it is doable.
Avatar f tn MY friend just had her daughter she's two months she was breastfeeding but stopped said she wasn't producing enough milk I want to breast feed also work so I'm planning to pump I really don't want to formula feed my son how can I make sure I have that milk supply coming in besides I heard it had lots of benefits for me and my son like low risk of SIDS and my sons dads oldest son died from SIDS and also I know it will help me loss weight so I don't want to give up on breastfee
1209036 tn?1299178657 Well, I could only nurse Fynn for about 1 eek because i did not realize just how painful it is!!! SO I went ou and bought a pump, but I am losing my supply. I dont know how often I should be pumping. We introduced formula because it seems much more satisfying for him. I am drinking lots but I still only pump like 1 ounce out of my left boob and almost nothing out of my right!! I really dont wanna lose my supply and need to know how I can increase it.
676912 tn?1332812551 Will my supply adjust as Aubryana gets older and needs more? She's been nursing for at least an hour at night the last couple nights, spitting up more and more gassy than normal so I bought her some gas drops today and I'm gonna see how the weekend goes and call the dr to see if it's reflux if she's not doing better with it Monday...
1454858 tn?1306784378 I agree it shouldn't hurt if the baby has a proper latch. it can be a bit uncomfortable when your breasts are full and the baby first begins to suck, but as soon as milk begins to let down the discomfort should ease. I honestly believe that smaller breasts are an advantage while breastfeeding. I have (now)36EE's and while BFing I had FF's...so trying to maneuver the nipple was difficult and it was almost easy to move baby around to fit the nipple instead of vice versa...
Avatar f tn Agreed. I haven't taken anything and breastfed for 14 months. I never leaked or anything. What most women don't get is when your milk comes in its all supply and demand and when that doesn't work then take stuff.
4437866 tn?1388119624 One of the biggest issues that employed breastfeeding mothers who are separated from their babies face is low milk supply. In talking with other active-duty mothers, you may think that a low milk supply is inevitable because it’s such a common issue.  Some mothers find that while their milk supply is great on a Monday after a weekend of nursing, it is faltering by Thursday.  Or they hit a slump at around the three-or six-month mark. A low milk supply is not inevitable.
7590082 tn?1392496513 Hey ladies. I'm expecting my second child in September and I really want to breast feed. It didn't work out with my first cuz I had a low milk supply and couldn't feed her anymore at 3 months.. What if I can't breast feed this baby either? Does a low milk supply mean always a low milk supply with every child? What were your experiences?
Avatar f tn Then she will continue to suck and get breast milk. Pumping helps to increase milk supply and you could pump and feed while you transition.
Avatar f tn Def dont mix up formula and breast milk made my daughter highly constipated. There is nipple cream at walmart you can get and also try taking a hot shower (breasts facing the faucet) and it will help let the milk come down and yeah you can pump that will help too if you have milk built up that baby isnt getting out.
7656727 tn?1404157447 So I finally got a pump today to get all my milk out and now it looks like I wont be making as much milk. Is there anything I can take to increase my milk supply?? Any recommendations would be highly appreciated. Thank you!
Avatar f tn Like is it bad to give formula AND breast milk? Can it make it to wear he wont want my breast milk? And as far as having to pump over nursing, will it lessen my supply?
