6014380 tn?1378523315 What exactly can you do if you have been seen and been treated for yeast infections and no antibiotics oral or suppository has worked to get rid of it? I have had this issues close to two years and doctors seem to be blowing me off about it when I know there has to be a underlining cause for this please help this is literally killing me.
1245078 tn?1268578722 Why am I getting yeast infections all the time? I finally get rid of it and then after about a week or so, it's back. I have followed my doctors advice thoroughly, used ALL of the medications, stopped taking baths(only showers now), wear only cotton underwear during the day and sleep without underwear at night and I still get them. To make matters worse, I get rid of a yeast infection last week, only to develop BV this week? What can I do?
Avatar f tn Or I think for some its common to get yeast infections around the time of your period too. Also birth control can do that to you too. Have you talked to your doctor about it?
Avatar m tn you chose the male icon which is why I assumed you were male. changing it to female is helpful :) The best thing to do is to be seen and get a proper work up done. Get properly tested for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally as well as discuss what std's you need tested for too.
Avatar f tn Do you get sores on your vagina when you have a yeast infection? I think it might be a yeast infection but i don't know. I am A virgin never had sex. And my parents are both clean.
Avatar f tn Yes, you can get a yeast infection as a virgin. Women often get a yeast infection, for example. after taking certain antibiotics, which can disturb the normal healthy balance of the vagina. However, it is also possible to get bacterial infections (again while still being a virgin), not just yeast infections, so it is important to get it checked out to see what organism might be causing the problem and whether a medication might be needed to clear it up.

Avatar m tn Is her tongue white? Thrush doesn't usually manifest as a sore on the outside of the lips, as candida requires a moist environment to survive. Just wondering if this has been diagnosed and if the other symptoms of thrush are there because if it's just this sore again are you sure it's yeast?
Avatar f tn Unless as previously said, you have any other complications. I would talk to your doctor before you do anything. And like they said, anti biotics are needed for a bacterial infection. Good luck!
Avatar m tn Hi there. Being a virgin doesn't change anything with yeast infections. Newborn babies can get yeast infections. The way a doctor checks for yeast is to take a swab of the discharge. It's easy to do and not very invasive. Then you'll be given either a pill to take for it or told to do the over the counter meds to treat it.
1168718 tn?1464983535 Hi Girls, PLEASE !!!!!!!! LOL ...... boys, ignore this one.... Hi, was just wondering if you ladies have experienced constant yeast infections? I'm wondering because I have. I was put on Premarin cream a little while ago, and thought that might be it, ( though it may be) , but checked on the MS site, and found out that it is VERY common with us ladies with MS. So, anyone out there willing to share this??
Avatar f tn Is anybody getting yeast infections as often as you cure them? Im 6 months pregnant and I have never had this many yeast infections in my life. I only bathe with dial soap and the doctor said I shouldnt take baths, nothing but showers. Can anybody help me with some remedies or something to help with the yeast infections ??
Avatar n tn If it does turn out to be positive then you would be able to take Valtrex to control the syptoms and get back to a more normal sex life with your partner..of course you both would have to be tested and both take the meds not fun I know but just throwing the suggestion/thoughts out there to help you in some small way~ goodluck!!!
Avatar f tn I am quite prone to yeast infections, so what I do is take an AZO yeast pill and eat some yogurt every day. If you have been on antibiotics that would do it. The antibiotics kill all bacteria (even the good ones) and that is why we are more likely to get a yeast infection after being on antibiotics.
Avatar f tn Before I became prego at age 22 I had only had maybe one ot two yeast infections which all cleared up with basic store medicine. While being prego with my son I had a yeast infection(YI) every month and he is a year old no and I am now plagued with chronic yeast infections.
Avatar n tn That is an antibidoic, which can effect your cylcle. That explains why your period was off. Remember, antibidoics can cancel out your birthcontrol making you more succeptible to becoming pregnant.
Avatar f tn Use pantyliners when you have an infection. Yeast can get on your underwear and you can re-infect yourself. Wash your underwear in hot water and dry it in the dryer on high. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Avatar n tn I have been getting a yeast infection every month right before my period comes. This month i went to the doctor because i noticed i was having discharge and it had a bad odor. The doctor said i had BV and gave me Metronidazole, i should take it for seven days twice a day. While i was taking the pill, a yeast infection came. Then i got my period and it started to clear up. That happens every month, i get the infection, my period clears it up. The next month it happens again.
Avatar f tn Anyway, many women, even young ones, will get yeast infections around the time or right after their period due to estrogen increasing and then decreasing. It's definitely known to be related. Let us know what your doctor says you can do!
Avatar f tn Fluconazole does work on yeast infections as it is an antifungal. Clindamycin is different and is an antibiotic. It fights bacteria, not yeast or fungus. Clindamycin can create a situation in which you get a yeast infection. It's not used to treat a yeast infection but fluconazole is.
