Common Questions and Answers about White skin rash

Avatar f tn I have had a small rash on my stomach for a couple of months and it never caused me any problems, but in the last few weeks it has spread and is itchy sometimes. It is white, has like a scailey skin and is a round kind of rash. I also went on holiday and it did not tan over it, stayed bright white. I saw my GP and he didn't know what it was, I've tried steroid creams and also softer ones like E45 and cetroban.
Avatar m tn It is a pigmentation disorder in which melanocytes (the cells that make pigment) in the skin are destroyed. As a result, white patches appear on the skin in different parts of the body. Diagnosis can be confirmed by external examination, blood tests to check skin cell count for melanocytes and biopsy of the skin patches. I suggest you to get it evaluated from a dermatologist so as to confirm the diagnosis.

Avatar f tn In dermatitis herpetiformis there is itchy rash with red bumps and blisters associated with sensitivity to gluten. White scaly rash over red irritated skin could be due to psoriasis. Scaly red rashes with slight itching are seen in Pityriasis rosea.Get yourself assessed by an expert dermatologist. Treatment will depend on the cause. Take care and best regards!
Avatar n tn One such example is a condition known as tinea versicolor, a superficial yeast infection that produces white spots on the skin that are difficult to remove. Some of the perceived causes are emotional stress, hereditary factors, worms, sunburns and physical illness. This skin condition can be aggravated due to diseases like hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, pernicious anemia and Addison's disease. You should talk to your doctor and rule out the above causes.

Avatar m tn They are circular, quarter-sized and are red with white flaking. I have had them on my legs for quite some time but now i have the same rash on both my arms and one little spot appearing on my stomach. They seem to go away but always come back. What could this be? Also, when i was younger i had allergies to certain fruits and such but it went away as a grew older.

Avatar f tn Hello, Since the rash has been present for 3 months, the possibility of eczema skin and psoriasis needs to be ruled out. Psoriasis is a long-term (chronic) skin problem that causes skin cells to grow too quickly, resulting in thick, white, silvery, or red patches of skin. It is thought that psoriasis occurs when the immune system overreacts, causing inflammation and flaking of skin.

Avatar f tn I have been to two different skin doctors and nobody knows what is going on with my skin. Personally, I feel that it is something to do with my immune system and I can't anyone to listen to me. Help!!!
Avatar n tn Are you on any meds? Could be erythema multiforme, which is a circular red rash with a white center, often causes by an allergic reaction or infection. however, Some classic circular rashes are ringworm and Lyme, so it would be a good idea to have a doctor look at it.
Avatar n tn It looks like razor burn (no white tops though). My inner thighs have also been itching horribly. No rash there though although it is raw and irritated where my underwear rubs. Today I have at the top have of my buttocks near the crack. It is red, not raised and looks like carpet burn. It hurts/burns. I have a place that looks like it under my right arm, but it does not hurt. I don't know why I have started having all these skin problems.
Avatar f tn I have developed a sudden skin rash on feet and legs below the knees. It is a round white spot with a red dot in the center. It does not itch. I am taking coumadin and plavix. Is this a sign of bleeding under the skin? I have also started having red marks, some size of dots and some larger and brown "age spots" on my skin. Anyone have similar condition? I was told to stay away from vitamin K because this effects the coumadin and my pro time.
Avatar f tn Hi there! I am asking about a skin rash or something that I have because I am out in the middle of the bush for work at the moment. I noticed about 6 days ago what I thought was a mosquito bite. It was red, raised and itchy. I forgot about it after a couple of days and then I noticed that it no longer looked like a mosquito bite. It had a small scabby centre (from picking the scab from itching) and then around it was red like a perfect circle. The skin wasn't raised.
Avatar n tn I have pink spots on my back and chest. The spots are pink where there is white skin and white where I am tan. It was diagnosed a versacolor and I was given a lotion from a dermatologist. The lotion worked, but a few years later the spots were back. Hope this helps.
