Common Questions and Answers about White discharge from nipple when squeezed

discharge

Avatar m tn I looked and I squeezed some white thick discharge which has been coming out when I squeezed it for years Then I squeezed a little harder and I heard a pop like I had popped a pimple then thinner discharge followed by a tiny bit of bloody pus type. Today I squeezed it and more of a white pus stuff came out and it's still sore. This nipple since I gave birth has always had the thick white discharge when I would squeeze it.
Avatar f tn Many women have some type of nipple discharge or fluid when their breasts are squeezed, and its normal. Squeezing the nipple sends message to the brain and the pituitary gland responds by increasing prolactin levels, which in turn produces discharge from the nipple. The discharge can come in a variety of colors - gray, green and brown as well as white.

When a woman is not lactating, there still can be a small amount fluid in the ducts which is normal. This fluid can be many colors... green, gray, white, brown, blue and black. The amounts of discharge vary with different women. Most nipple discharges are caused by benign conditions, such as duct ectasia or benign papillomas.
10187974 tn?1408415004 My right breast becomes damp on its own and when slightly squeezed milky white liquid comes out. It also itches. I have not started menopause either. I still have both my ovaries. Is there cause for concern?
Avatar n tn Nipple discharge when squeezed is not abnormal. Only when discharge is bloody and from only one side and spontaneous (without pressure or squeezing) is there cause for concern. If you want to have this ck.d out just see your Family Physician for an examination. I would also stop putting pressure on or squeezing the nipples too. This will often produce some discharge. Regards ....

Avatar f tn It is normal for many women to have some type of nipple discharge or fluid when their nipples/ breasts are squeezed. Squeezing the nipple sends a message to the brain and the pituitary gland responds by increasing prolactin levels, which in turn produces discharge from the nipple. Certain medications also increase the likelihood of discharge, and there are certain times of life (due to hormine fluctuations) that discharge is more likely.

Avatar n tn Today I noticed while I was in the shower that on the middle of my nipple was a cloudy white/yellow discharge. It really scared me! I squeezed my nipple to see if it really was a discharge. Sure enough more came out. I squeezed it out until there seemed to be no more. About an hour later or so, I checked to see if it was still there. There in fact was more discharge. It has not been leaking out either, it only comes out if it is squeezed out.

Avatar m tn Hello. I have had a thick white nipple discharge coming from my left breast on and off for approximately one year along with itching, deep breast pain, and a light colored nipple rash. It generally comes out only when squeezed, although sometimes I will notice a tiny bit on my nipple without expressing it. Four years ago after I gave birth I had a terrible case of thrush and that breast pain was the same as what I am feeling now, only I am no longer nursing.
