My dad has been taking Zolpidem for over 3 years and recently I found out Zolpidem is used for treating short term insomnia. I'd like to know if it can be used for long term and if whether there are any medications available which can be used for long term treatment.

thanks for the quick response I don't think i've developed a tolerance but it is worth checking out what type of drug is loramet! Do you take sleep meds every night? I do and cannot sleep without them.

m trying temazepam or restoril now and it seems to be working- zolpidem is ok at helping me fall asleep but it seems less effective

I am prescribed 12.5mg. of zolpidem but my insurance will only cover RX for 10mg. Is this safe to switch?

ve develped a bit of tolerance to it. So my dr. wrote a script for imovane (i think that is what ambien is called in Canada). I tried this out, (5mg) and I found it took several hours to feel the effect, and then I kept waking up, and going back to sleep, until i finally fell in a deep sleep and slept in late because I felt groggy. I prefer the ativan. I don't get the hung over feeling from it. I wouldn't do the imovane on a bus trip.

Also I dreamed I had called my friend for the something with my work. It was clear, as if they are not dream but the reality.

this is known as off labeling...where a drug is intended for one purpose but used for another....in this case insomnia......
