zerit

Avatar n tn With Zetia interfere with the absorption of the benefits of these supplements and if so what can I do to get the full benefit of Zetia and the supplements, if anything. Ar there any other supplements that should be avoided while taking Zetia? Many thanks.
Avatar f tn s to go even higher, even the ALP which was always normal (and came back to normal after stopping the Lipitor). Would you tend to agree? Is 1-1/2 weeks long enough for his other enzymes to come down after stopping the Lipitor? Do you feel he should stop the Zetia as well? What could be possible reasons why the GGTP went up so high? And lastly, do you feel he should have an ultrasound or CT scan at this point? I thank you for your time.
Avatar n tn Thank you for the post. As of today, I am not taking any drug. I feel normal and "healthy". Except for the backache that came with Crestor. It looks like my muscle pain is diminishing though. I am afraid to go on zetia either. I am helpless not knowing what to do. My doctor said I have to atleast take the meds for 3 months before the blood test. But then even with this horrible muscle pain he did not ask me to get the CPK tested. Should I ask him? Thank you for the support.
Avatar m tn Will keep her on, cause her numbers are VERY bad and I will probably go back to Welchol and zetia, for what it is worth.
Avatar n tn Incidentally, unrelated to GA, I started taking Zetia for cholesterol about 3 years ago and soon thereafter developed a severe chronic cough that nearly drove me crazy (and everyone around me!) I saw several doctors and was given many different medicines.
Avatar n tn Fenofibrate If cholelithiasis is suspected in a patient receiving ZETIA and fenofibrate, gallbladder studies are indicated and alternative lipid-lowering therapy should be considered [see ADVERSE REACTIONS and the product labeling for fenofibrate]. Choleithiasis is Gallstones in the gallbladder. Ask about it. Use this site or the FDAs website to look up the drug interactions and precautions when taking the two drugs together, and if you Dr is not hearing it, then go to another DR.
Avatar f tn I have been on Vytorin for a few years and my insurance company will not pay for it anymore. My doctor has switched me to Simvastatin (40mg) daily. My question is has anyone else made the switch and have they noticed any side-effects?
Avatar m tn Just finished Tx 6 months post UDT and now have been prescribed simvastatin for cholestral. I'm 3/3.5 damaged and was wondering if this is the right aveune to take for meds . Will the hep C be reactivated or will my liver get worse now that its trying to get better. Blood work will follow in 30 days. The VA prescribed Zeitia and my new outside Dr recommended to try the Simvastatin ( Zocar) and stop the Zeita. Does this make any sense to anyone? Any comments are appreciated .
Avatar f tn I am 48 year old female, have had high cholestrol for which I have been on Zetia & Tricor for several years, now is almost normal. I had a bad reaction to the statins- ended up in the hospital with very high liver enzymes. Recently, I have been getting very lightheaded and experiencing pain in my upper arms. My doctor refered me to a cardiologist who performed the heart ultrasound and the holter which came back normal.
950978 tn?1246129559 I was diagnosed in having a fatty liver. I take Zocor 40mg and Zetia 10mg. My ALT level is 120 and AST is 52. My question is should I control how much I drink or not drink at all?
Avatar m tn Anyone here know anything about zetia and its affect on the thyroid and or levo absorption? I have read it may affect absorption and the rx monograph says talk tp your doctor if you have thyroid disorders. He knows I am on synthroid, but I am curious how this drug affects it.
Avatar f tn My Stomach did enlarge but I think this was due to me being a lot less active than I used to be. However, since feeling much better, I have noticed how my stomach is reducing again with the exercise. I too ate like a mouse. Bypass surgery helps millions of people, but there are things which can go wrong. Grafted veins can close up and become useless which is what happened with me. For the three months they stayed open, I felt much better.
Avatar f tn My next step is to request a test that can determine where the muscle damage is. (Recently found out this is possible).
Avatar n tn The normal ranges of GFR, adjusted for body surface area for males is 70 ± 14 mL/min/m2 (56-84) . Risk factors for kidney disease include diabetes, high blood pressure, family history and older age. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar n tn My (74 year old) father currently is taking these medications together Pravastatin Sodium 80mg, Zetia 10 mg, Isosorbide Mnonitrate 30 mg, Metoprolol tartrate 50 mg, Plavix 75 mg, Amlodipine Besylate 10 mg, Aspirin (nsaid) 81 mg low dose The doctor told him his liver count is up 66 and the lower range is 64. Would any of these drugs or combination of these drugs make liver count increase?
Avatar f tn A possibility I just read about was a mild yeast infection of the skin, which colorless sweat interacts with and gets pink. Don't know if that is legit or not. Have you checked for dietary reasons, like you enjoying something that has a lot of artificial ingredients or dyes?
745393 tn?1345077196 I had test done, found out that my cholesterol was 190. Couple of months ago it was 166. I have tried a lot of meds for this condition, have taken advicor, lipitor, crestor, zetia, tricor, provastatin, niaspan, gemfibronil. I have been on lovaza (omega 3,and 6 ) for the pass five months, but as you can see it has not helped very much. Heart doctor says I have taken the limit. All of these choles meds causes me to ache in my muscles very very bad, and dr. says this could be a serious situation.
Avatar m tn On the treadmill I normally do 10 min warmup and then 30 sec running and 30 sec walking for 20 minutes then a 5 minute cool down. On Thursday I was about 26 minutes into my cardio when it felt like someone hit me with a broom stick across my mid back. It caused my breating to gasp twice. I then noticed pain in my center right portion of my back. I continued for about a minute and then stopped my workout early.
Avatar n tn I was placed on Zetia but since going on Medicare I find it too expensive to purchase. Any suggestions for other medications would be appreciated.

Avatar m tn Is metoprolol and amlodipine safe to take?Since I am 38 only what would be its long term effects. That is taking the drug for over 30 years? Finally whether the dosage may be changed? Please help.
Avatar f tn Vytorin is a statin that lowers LDL and raises HDL. I believe Vytorin is a combination of Zetia and Zocor. I am not sure if the Vytorin will go with the Niaspam so you will need to ask your doctor that.
Avatar n tn s knows how much of a nuisance they can be both physically and emotionally. Is there any other drug that is not in the same class as statins that works on cholesterol. I already eat oatmeal, take fish oil, etc. Thanks!
Avatar f tn My triglicerides are 87 (good is under 150) and my HDL is 64 (over 50 is good). BP was 113/78 (which is high for me - always comes up high at dr's office because I HATE going to the dr's office - makes me nervous!). Body mass index 21 (under 25 is good). Maybe I will get it rechecked - it's never come up high before. I read in my packet that LDL generally goes up when pregnant, so if I want to get pregnant I'd better work on lowering that number. Yikes.
