212161 tn?1599427282 I used to take albuterol for fast acting inhaler, but my cardiologist changed me to the xoponex because it is easier on heart patients.
Avatar f tn All of them Xopenex is the only one that does not go by albuterol. No generics because of the cfc ban. We do have generic albuterol neb solution. The Xopenex doesn't cause the shakiness that the other versions do and can be more effective. I wonder if that is what part of my problem has been? hmmmmm... I am going to ask for a sample of Xopenex to try for odor exposures again.
Avatar f tn He said that it is normal for my chest to react that way with the inhaler. I been having this cough for the past week. I havent used my inhaler yet. Do i need to switch to another inhaler? Please need advice please. Thanks.
Avatar n tn What will happen if you don't rinse your mouth out after you use the Proventil HFA inhaler?
Avatar f tn My doctors think I take a overdose but it happens when I take one puff from my inhaler out of two. They tell me to keep taking it, is it really a good idle to keep taking it. When I get these symptoms. Cause it also make my breathing worse.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with Bronchiolar asthma all my life (22 years), My inhalers have not been a bother with me worked perfect helped me so much expect the Blue one which made my Asthma worse.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed an inhaler about a week ago, and it doesn't seem to be helping with my breathing problems. It feels good and works for about a few seconds after using it then it doesn't make a difference at all. And the other day it actually made my symptoms A LOT worse (I could barley breath for the whole evening and felt pressure). Is there a reason for all of this or should I just switch brands?
7748835 tn?1393868668 Hello. I'm 16, 5'6 and 118lbs. I've had asthma since I was little and I just got a diagnosis that it was moderate persistent asthma but has worsened since I've had that diagnosis so I'm sure it's severe now. I'm on Advair 250/20 as a preventor and I have Ventolin HFA as a rescue inhaler. I take Advair twice a day, but sometimes forget to take it. I don't believe it helps prevent any symptoms or attacks whatsoever.
Avatar n tn My 6 year old grandaughter often has to take Xopenex HFA for asthma related issues. It makes her extremely irritable, she has a bad temper and in general is very mooddy? Is this a side affect?
Avatar n tn If you feel you are having issues related to your medication, you should consult the doctor who prescribed that particular medication.
Avatar m tn If i talk normal cracky and difficult for 2 weeks now.Sometimes i feel inhaler is causing my voice problems or both? i seem to have had this voice problem, but much less for years but not this bad, especially when i could feel sinus dripping down back of throat.
Avatar m tn The color of the inhaler does not tell us what it is you are inhaling.
212161 tn?1599427282 A tea made with Oregano and honey also helps my breathing. I use the inhaler very rarely and then only half of what I am suposed to. I don't like being dependent on any medication. even if I only breath it in. I refuse to take or inhale steroids of any kind. Be careful, go to a naturopath before you ever cave in to pharmaceuticals. I hope that you get better everyday.
Avatar f tn She took prednisone for 5 days and is on her 7th day of cefzil for infection just because this is what the dr thought she needed She has never gotten much relief with the albuterol or the xopenex which makes me wonder if she indeed has asthma or could it be something else I would really like answers if anyone can help or give us guidance or advice on this situation. It is very scary for her. And we are working on easing her anxiety when she feels she can't breathe .
Avatar f tn Advair is only a maintence drug which will only help you over time but it is not an emergency inhaler (like ventolin or proair). Advair if not taken as prescribed can make things worse and can make you very ill. Please never take more than the 4 puffs per day. Anxiety can do really bizarre things to people. It can make you feel like you are sufficating.
Avatar m tn Hi, it is possible to be having asthma issues and maintaim a good peak flow for a while. Peak flow reflects how clear the larger airways are. You could be having issues in the smaller airways. The presence of mucous would indicate that something is probably going on. You should really discus this with your dr at your next visit and see what he/she says. Another thought would be acid reflux. Could this be an issue for you?
Avatar n tn m now on advair (one week= 115 ) and doing okay - except the only rescue inhaler i can tolerate is primotene mist. just took an oximeter test - came out 86-87. i think it's too soon to go on oxygen, until we see if advair works. but i worry about the advair too. will i ever get better and be able to switch to lower advair dose? my MD says i have "moderate" COPD....does it get better, or what?
Avatar f tn Can't say that I get that symptom but everyone is different. What inhaler is it? Ventolin or a steroid one? Ventolin normally increases heart rate and makes you shaky. I don't know of any inhalers that make you drowsy?
Avatar f tn She took prednisone for 5 days and is on her 7th day of cefzil for infection just because this is what the dr thought she needed She has never gotten much relief with the albuterol or the xopenex which makes me wonder if she indeed has asthma or could it be something else I would really like answers if anyone can help or give us guidance or advice on this situation. Avatar n tn Flovent is not a rescue inhaler. Who told you that? Only Albuterol nebs or inhalers are rescue inhalers, Flovent is aka fluticasone, you can grow aspergillus with flovent and advair. Did you read the patient information that it can also cause resp infections as well as cataracts, over time? Have you changed your toothbrush, had dental cleanings or told your MD/ Have you been offered Mycelex lozenges or Diflucan?
Avatar f tn You might be reacting to that and not the medication, switching to the HFA inhaler version would help that (or vice versa). If is VERY unlikely you are allergic to every single medication for asthma because there is a lot of differing types and specific meds. You might want to talk to a pharmicist for less common alternatives if your doctor is having trouble - they may not know of the other alternatives.
Avatar f tn Pulmonary function tests were normal but she thinks I have asthma. I am on Xopenex inhaler and Quvar inhaler. Recently having more attacks and having to use the Xopenx more so she ordered antibiotic and 1 week of predinose. She wants to do a high resolution CT of the chest and methocholine test but it is very exspensive so I am trying the conservative approach first. Do you think I have been misdiagnosed? I am so healthy otherwise and don't smoke.
Avatar f tn When I excersice or jog my astham is often triggers if I am in cold outdoors, my pulse goes high and takes long time( hrs to come down to my normal pulse (in 80.82 range). what is relationship between asthma and pulse to stay high for long time?
1763947 tn?1334055319 When I went to refill my inhalers the pharmacist said I was taking two inhalers that have steroids in them and that most all people take only 1 of those. I am taking Symbacort,, Asmanex twisthaler and xopenex HFA as a rescue. I am moving soon to FL and have only been in Texas for 10 months. I will see a pulmanary doc when I get to FL but meanwhile has anyone been told this about steroids and or have any suggestions? I see my PCP tomorrow hopefully for the last time before I leave.
