klor-con

Avatar f tn That is why I stopped taking Klor Con M20 4 days ago just to see what would happen. The next morning I could tell that my skin was no longer crawling and getting ready to erupt in full blown itching. I am concerned about my potassium level dropping to a dangerously low level after discontinuing Klor Con M20 but still taking Lasix 40 mg twice daily. I have called my Cardiologist and I am still waiting on him to get back with me.
214529 tn?1333303619 See if your doctor will give you liquid potassium instead of the pills. I have tried the Klor-con and the powder mix ins and they all make me really sick, the only one I can tolerate barely is the liquid, it is not any more expensive than the others and I mix it in cran-grape juice or some other juice like that that will mask the flavor. Good luck, I know it's a pain, I have been dealing with this for over two years.
Avatar n tn I have major deep body charlie horses, even under rib cage, that come frequently now post surgery if I don't take my potassium -- Klor-Con: 10 mcg or something like that. It's a prescription dose. Also, magnesium is important. I would get checked out for a heart attack but it sounds likes like severe potassium deficiency. If you're on a diuretic, you definitely need to supplement with Klor-Con.
Avatar f tn I take Lisinopril 10mg, furosemide 40mg and Klor-con potassium. I have just been prescribed Spironolactone 25mg and Carvedilol 6.25.

Avatar f tn range), so the Rx supplements are prescribed at a dosage that keeps my blood levels at an ideal level, and my blood levels are periodically measured to make sure that this is being maintained. With that caveat out of the way, I take Klor-Con M20 tablets (that's 20 milli-equivalents) 2x daily. To convert mEq to mg you have to flash back to chemistry class and use molecular weights etc., so I'm just cheating and getting numbers off a pharmacy site online.
1252901 tn?1271131868 s a bloody relative thing you know.
Avatar n tn They say I have thousands as many and as frequently as a second apart. I am 60. I am on Diovan, Carvedilol, Lipitor, Flursemide, Klor-con for the heart and Synthroid and Nexium.
492869 tn?1285018933 thank you all for the lists.. my daughter has been on the same 3 meds for years.
Avatar f tn ENT says everything is normal, I take nexium for acid reflex, klor-con, slowmag, vitamin d3 2000, iron pills, in decemeber I started having vibrating in my lower body in legs , feet, buzzing sensations, and tingling on back of my head, and tingling on my left side of tounge, I do have my wisdom teeth inside still and one is impacted.
369861 tn?1306275686 meaning (in a nutshell) it will take the potassium with it when it causes your body to get rid of excess fluids (the Klor-con is for replacing lost potassium)...Your beta -blocker (atenolol) is designed to improve the contractility of your heart (squeezing) without driving up your blood pressure...If you are more than 80 lbs overwieght, or small and 50+ lbs over, the fat begins to enclose your heart and prevents it from filling with blood properly.
Avatar f tn What is your genotype? Your genotype will determine what medication protocol is used. "My doctor wants me to wait for another year to start treatment because the drugs he is wanting to use are still in research stage although they are using them on other patients currently." You say you have only had HCV for around 4 years. To truly assess the damage the virus has caused, you need to have a liver biopsy.
12714324 tn?1426848387 First of all, and know it's easier said than done, but you're not a burden. As I'm sure you know, with meds like Lexapro, we often have to feel a little worse before we start feeling better. For most, the initial side effects are short lived (thank goodness). I know it's tough waiting to feel better, but it's something that just takes time. It could take 4-6 weeks, or it may take even longer (especially if you end up needing to try higher dosages).
658297 tn?1224631808 Thank you for your advice, none of my health care team have suggested any of the above in the whole time I have suffered. I have excluded lactose and gluten intenetionally for a few weeks each which didn't have any noticeable effect but I will get some proper tests done.
408795 tn?1324935675 Yes the Spironolactone and Lasix are used together to keep the sodium and potassium levels in balance. So that is the right thing to do. Diuretics, especially long term use, can damage your kidneys and lead to edema. Sounds like a good plan. UC Davis med center. They should be able to tell you what is going on. I know you don't have ascites but here is some good info on the diuretics.
Avatar f tn When you can't sleep from the withdrawals, I've been told that Trazadone is a good choice for sleep because it isn't a controlled substance, etc. What is the story with this medication?
Avatar f tn I know the Klor-Con makes him VERY confused and dizzy. Is there another type of potassium that can be used for the same effect that won't cause these symptoms? Also, several years back (before the ulcer burst), dad was worried about his heart so he began taking Aspirin. He took one pill a night for a few months but started having a breathing problem while sleeping. He would stop breathing in his sleep. He stopped taking aspirin and this problem went away.
215752 tn?1278004771 Whatever you feel best at. The range is wide, but you are at the hypo side now. Could you feel the difference in the past? The longer you've had this the more you can tell the difference. Ask for copies of the bloodwork from now on to make notes on. Also, do you get free T4 and free T4 tested (need these), the actual thyroid hormones? TSH is a messenger hormone from the pituitary telling the thyroid what to do, not the best to adjust meds by.
Avatar n tn I think that the sternum cartilage overgrowth is rubbing my heart or a major artery which causes the afib. which is why afib is associated with quick movements. I believe that the sternum cartilage is pressing in on this artery or my heart which is causing paralysis and disorientation from not enough blood flow. I think that this is why I'm also very sensitive to g-forces and lying on my back and why I hear and feel "whoosh" of my heart from my chest through my neck.
