I ran into a Protonix discount program that is supposed to work over your phone by texting PRO. Has any one used this program or one like it? I looked into places on this forum but could not find if there was a better place for this question so I apologize if I am in the wrong section. He prescribed Protonix. I've read some things on the internet and the dr gave me some information about it. It seems to be more prevalent in older men. I'm a 46 year old female. He doesn't think my systemic lupus has anything to do with the disease but I will leave that question to my rheumy. I was supposed to go on methotrexate this month but I've read that if taking Protonix there are serious complications with that drug.

About 2 month ago, I started having bad stomach pain, with pins anf needles sensation, and pain radiating through back. I went to see family doc and he did blood test to rule out pancreatitis (result came back normal), and put me on Protonix 40mg, once a day. I took for couple of weeks, and felt ok, so stopped, but pain would come back, so went back on it couple of days later. The bottle had 30pills, and one refill.
I have a question. Are drugs in the benzo family ever used to treat seizures? As in Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Ativan, Restoril, etc?
I have simple partial seizures and was on xanax on an "as needed" basis to control some nervousness about going back to college. I was on it for about 2 months. I started realizing I got less of my sensory and motor seizures which have always been uncontrollable since I started getting them back in 2000.

When I went in to the ER, the EKG's came back normal, but a chest x-ray showed an elevated left hemidiaphragm and protein in my urine with high specific gravity. I have had a chest and spine xray in March of 2017 due to a pretty bad car accident I was in and the xray did not show an elevated diaphragm at that time. This is a new finding.
I continued to have lot of gas. I had a blood test and said that I had H.Pyloric. I am not sure I understand just what it is. How serious it is. Thursday my female 10 lb. 2 year old Japanes chin was lethargic and not eating. She was givin Reglan and Pepcid at the clinic. Friday still lethargic not eating and had a fever. Friday she had blood work and xrays. Everything was normal except slightly anemic. Also a questionable gas pattern and a dark area in the stomach on xray. was given fluids, baytril injection, and ampicillan injection. Went home with bayrtil prescribed once a day and probiotic, still on pepcid.
I used to experience the same thing before I had surgery, sometimes balsalmic vinegar would seem to help. I knew that vinegar is slightly acidic, so I brought it up with my doc. He thinks that because stomach acid is so strong, the slightly acidic acid dilutes it. That being said, I'm curious why water didn't help. Was it very cold water you drank? I used to have trouble with that for whatever reason.
How you take Protonix or related blockers is very, very important.
The Dr gave me Nexium, but I was still getting upper stomach pain and pressure in the chest an back. I was switched to Protonix and it seemed to help with the upper stomach pain right under the breastbone. I'm taking two pills a day. Does anyone know how long Protonix takes to work? I was told that some PPI's could take 4 to six weeks to take affect.
