Common Questions and Answers about What is arthrotec for

arthrotec

Avatar f tn Arthrotec works well but is useless as most nsaids are during a R.A flare. If you are only having mild RA pain and just need something to keep it under control I highly reccomend trying Arthrotec. I am not a physician so of course speak to your RA Dr before using arthrotec dont want any issues with contradicting other meds you may be taking. Of course only you know what your pain level is and on major flare days only strong narcotics will help sometimes.
Avatar f tn From what it sounds like is maybe Fibromyalgia. Did you only get tested for RA? I've been tested for Lupus, RA, Lymes disease, B12 def. (which was low), Ect... If you have been tested for everything else, I would assume Fibro. Can you ask your Dr. for a referral to a specialist?
Avatar f tn Arthrotec is an NSAID, aspirin is also an NSAID, if that helps any. I don't thinks is quite as hard on your stomach as plain aspirin is though.
Avatar f tn I'm with Cindee on this one, firstly what type of Dr. dx you? People can have more than one type of arthritis at the same time, if you haven't already you need to see a Rheumatologist and get all new labs done. I take Enbrel for my disease ( AS), my last rheumy gave me a RX for Lyrica which I did not even bother filling, not interested in gaining weight thank you! If you've been on Mobic for a long time it is entirely possible your body is no longer responding to it.
780647 tn?1304020942 I also see that a physician prescribed Arthrotec for you. Arthrotec is used to treat osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in people at high risk for developing stomach or intestinal ulcers. Both conditions can be extremely painful which explains the symptoms you are experiencing. Have you began the medication yet? It may take some time before you see the benefits. Some times NSAID's need to "build up" in your system before they are truly effective.
Avatar n tn This medicine is very dangerous for a fetus during pregnancy, it is also very dangerous for someone who has recently had bypass or other heart surgeries.
Avatar f tn I cannot sleep longer than for 2 hours. I was given Tramadol and Arthrotec for the pain. I now take Arthrotec and paracetamol after suffering a vomiting fit. I am tired of waiting to receive an appointment to see the hospital neurosurgeon to whom I was referred. I was told to get an ambulance back to hospital immediately if I became incontinent or numb in that area. What does '...
Avatar n tn i want to know could it slow down the healing process? is it necessary to use arthrotec?
393986 tn?1303825975 Her neuro is one I have seen before and what he did for her was good, she is not on any disease modifiers, but she had a flare recently and she had to have solumedrol treatment. So if you get a woman saying "Spastic" sent me, it is her... She is a very sweet person...
Avatar m tn i am on very high doses of morphine, oramorph, tramadol, dihydrocodeine, baclofen, arthrotec & some paracetamol for a bad back. I also have osteoporosis & take calcium tablets for this too. This has gone on for 5 years since i fell off the back of my old works truck. Oh & 2 lots of pills for high blood pressure.
Avatar m tn My question, already posted in part, is: is there any downside to steroidal injections which I am told may be up to 4 times a year. I have stopped, cold turkey, taking dilaudid which I have been on for over 4 years. (Resection in 2006 and ACD&F's (2) in 2008 (C5,6 and C6,7), Problem is, not ony am I concerned about the down side (everyone talks about rebound effect from Cortisone) but I am ideating about ending it all, I am so tired of being in pain.
513154 tn?1340225289 t even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!
Avatar f tn exlax is extra strength and i take two/day and the diurex is 200 mg and I take 1/day. Just a little history on me for such a short question I want to ask, but I want you to have all the info. So like I said, ive been feeling like I have a cold for a few months and cant seem to shake it. Then yesterday I went out in -1 degree celsius weather, walking and I could feel the cold going into my lungs and it started to hurt. So I turned around and went home.
Avatar f tn What is the best thing to take for symtoms of norco withdrawls. I'm going crazy. Please help!
Avatar n tn Thank you so much for your concern and advice. I moved to a new city where I don't know anyone except for my sister who is over an hour's drive away (but thank God for her, still). I am unable to find a doctor who is accepting new patients, so I would have no choice but to go to the ER - and wait forever.
Avatar f tn If you have degeneration of the discs or disc disease and nothing can be done surgically there must be a doctor that will manage your pain. There have to be other people who live where you live who are in need of help to manage chronic pain. Please do a search for doctors, MD's or Internists who deal with chronic pain. Something doesn't sound right here.
Avatar f tn Everything came back normal and the cardiologist I met with said my heart is fine. Could something have been missed? Is there another test I should have to be sure? Could acid reflux cause these problems? I have also recently had my cholesterol checked and it is well within normal range and my blood pressure is fairly consistent at 118/78, I'm also a non smoker though I am overweight. As always, your input is greatly appreciated.
Avatar m tn I have taken ibuprofen which does not help. the doctor gave me arthrotec and i have taken it for three days. it didnt help tonight. i am taking a pain killer but i hate taking them. Please is there any relief in site? Peter This discussion is related to Weird Calf Cramps + hip and knee pain.
1232362 tn?1333135406 I now have pain doing things like lifting light items like a quart of milk or opening the venetian blinds, turning my head to the right is painful. The pain is not like a typical stiff neck, but like I'm being sliced open with no anesthesia. I do have a herniated disc at c6 which I had a cervical epidural for almost a year ago. Could this be acting up again? I haven't done anything active to aggravate it so I'm at a loss for why it's so incredibly painful.
Avatar f tn Hi...Sorry for what you have been going through...let's hope you get some answers soon. Your timeline is pretty concise and you did a great job. The only thing I might suggest would be to bullet your items like this: October 2005 *Severe back pain all over my back. Nothing would relieve it. Lasted 1 week Jan 2006 *Back pain returned lasted a week. *Back Spasms March 2006 *Back pain and burning sensation. *Back Spasms. *Tingling from the waist down.
Avatar f tn hello i am sorry for what i have heard but i wonted to let you know about a shot that i heard is new it is a shot in the brain that kills all headaches i was to scared to take it but maybe you can ask about it h
Avatar m tn This is typical of docs here in the UK though they just suddenly want you to come down but if you go to the dettox place what are you going to do for pain meds. Dettox 5 is for complete dettox. It would be a complete waste ofmoney. You would not be able to cope with your pain with no meds at all. I learned that just because we are addicts it does not mean we must suffer pain.
Avatar n tn Every doc has their own theory on how to deal with these diseases, I know they work for me. How is the Enbrel working for you? I thought I was doing great ( week 12 ) but this last week I am hurting a lot again. Will be seeing a new rheumy soon and decide if we should switch to the Remicade, Let me know how you are. Take care.
Avatar m tn Also no part of my rib cage is painful with palpation, squeezing my ribs in any direction does not make the pain worse the pain radiates on my right side under my ribcage and I am very tender to palpate just below the ribcage from just below my sternum to my right side any pressing here I feel as pain and it radiates through to my back. I have tested my stool for occult blood this morning and it is also negative.
1305522 tn?1273170802 Hi Scotty: I'm sorry to hear of your pain. As far as other meds, I use a drug called Arthrotec. Info for this drug : http://www.drugs.com/pdr/arthrotec.html. I have no idea if this will help you. I use it for neck and hand pain. Works very well for me. If helps my sister with the same issues. It's basically an NSAID for those of us with ulcers. I have no way of knowing if it would help you. But it doesn't affect you in the same way that Vicodin does.
Avatar f tn who all say they dont really know what this is.. I am hopeful that this scope will help, but they said they will try to get him in, in a week or so, but it could be months. This is terrible to say.. but I dont want to leave him at home alone.. because I dont feel he can cope with this pain anymore. He goes to work each day (although not this week) because he has to.. but I know its hard for him.
