Avatar f tn I was disqualified from a job process due to this medical condition called left ventricular hypertrophy. I take benazepril & amlodipine besylate for high blood pressure, and for migraines atenolol. I didn't know they were also used for heart problems. Is this condition treatable or cureable?
Avatar n tn The fact that the side effect is not common does not mean that what you feel is not related to the medication. I cannot really say if the medication is causing you the problem or not. However if you feel that your neuropathy worsens with the medication, specially after doing the trial of going off the medication and seeing the symptoms improve, I think you should discuss this issue with your doctor, and consider changing the treatment. I hope you find this information useful.
Avatar f tn It really depends on why your vet put her on Benazepril? Is it for diagnosed high blood pressure - or is it to help the kidneys function better through increased blood flow? Benazepril is a good drug for either, but if it is merely to help the kidneys (in other words, if your dog does not already have high blood pressure), then extreme caution is needed.
Avatar m tn t as bad as I thought, but she hasnt been eating very much the last few days. What else can we do to get her to eat? Is she in pain? or is she just too weak from not eating? How long does she have to be on the antibiotic for? Will she get her appetite back? I've read a lot of the threads on this website, as well as read Tony's guide. Thank you for any input.
Avatar n tn t seem to find any info about it being helpful for that. All the info I have found is about blood pressure. Is this a common prescription? Should I be concerned if I already have low blood pressure?
Avatar n tn Beta blockers like metoprolol and ACE inhibitors like benazepril have been been shown to be of value in patients with congestive heart failure as well as for hypertension. Simvastatin is of value for patients with both diabetes and heart disease. Talk to your doctor and changes can be made to minimize the side effects.
Avatar n tn m also a terribly anxious person and in my case, Seredyn was helpful. Seredyn is not an ED drug, it is a natural supplement for the treatment of anxiety that contains L-theanine and has no sexual side effects. For more on this, I suggest you visit the excellent EDG Forum: edguider.

Avatar m tn since my release I have had a rapid pulse between 105 and 125, swelling in my lower legs, and pain both in the calf and front which is aggravated by walking or climbing stairs. Sitting there is no pain at all. What is causing this? I take several BP medicines as well as cholesterol meds. Micardis, plavix, a diuretic amlodipine.
Avatar m tn I immediately got up and luckily have not hurt myself. Would you tell me what this is symptomatic of and what kind of physician I should be discussing this with. I do have controlled high blood pressure for which I take Hydrochlorozide-50mg, Amlodipine-10mg, and Benazepril HCL-40mg.
Avatar n tn Have you used Valsartan for treatment of hypertension patients in high risk patients? Are you aware about the combination Valsartan and Amlodipine to treat hypertension in high risk patients? How its is better than Telmisarton and Amlodipine combination?
Avatar m tn //www.drugs.com/amlodipine.html. Vision issues are considered rare. Here is a comprehensive list of side effects: https://www.drugs.com/sfx/amlodipine-side-effects.html. It also lists red, irritated eyes as a side effect. I think I'd let your doctor know you are having watery eyes.
Avatar f tn d want him to see a cardiologist. Because this will clearly be a life long battle for him. Now that he is on the medication, is his blood pressure stable, controlled and lower? Does he still have the facial flushing? Each class of blood pressure medication is a little different. Avatar n tn I was on benazapril for hbp for quite a while, developed a slight dry scratchy cough my doctor described as benazepril cough. He changed me to valsartan last week and thats where the real fun began :-( 3 days on valsartan and I was having horrible side effects of dizziness, rapid heart rate, general feeling of crappiness, even slight shortness of breath with the slightest exertion None of which I experienced with the benazepril.
Avatar m tn The doc put me on 2 medications, benazepril and amlodipine. These were keeping down to around 125/80 or 85. Im not able to check it constantly. But it was down and I felt worlds better, especially by adding on the exercising too. Now the kicker. I started seeing a new doctor after I moved. When I first went in she saw that my BP was really high for my age and put me on the 2 meds. She also took a ton of blood out of my arm and did a urine test.

Avatar f tn I have bad knees due to skiing accidents and have never had TKR. However, I am obese, have OA and take the following meds daily: amlodipine, sertralive, ASA-LD. Exercise is very difficult for me. What could be causing this? This is kinda scaring me - I don't want to have a DVT...
Avatar n tn my doc says Byetta is safer for liver people.
Avatar m tn A coronary ct at this point is used to help risk stratify patients. You have undergone 2 exercise stress tests that have been interpreted as normal. A coronary calcium ct will not add any incremental information, and will only add radiation exposure. It will not be able to determine anything about microvascular disease. It is reassuring that you have had two normally interpreted exercise stress tests utilizing two different imaging modalities.
Avatar f tn ll guess that is a high cost (as is the case of MD Specialist) option and I doubt there is anything that can be done...could be wrong it may be possible to repair the heart valve, say. I have a repaired mitral heart valve myself.
Avatar m tn After this happened 3 times, I was able to convince her. The amlodipine is great for the spasms, and the nitro works every time for me. I take the nitrostat under my tongue. There is a lot of reading on the internet if you know what to look for. You could try researching "small vessel disease, vasopspams, unstable angina or microvessel disease or even Cardiac Syndrome X. The chest pain with these spasms are never brought on by exertion.
