Avatar m tn Hello, so your fasting blood sugar was 128! This is already high enough to qualify as diabetes if the number were seen again on another fasting result. I don't think your test is wrong (though it could be affected by your previous day's diet), and in any case it is far higher than it should be (Normal fasting is in the low 80s, with acceptable level being < 95). 128 is far higher than acceptable level.
Avatar m tn Dear Friends, I love building muscles so I have to consume lots of milk, proteins and carbohydrates for energy......? Today I got my Sugar levels tested but Fasting blood sugar is showing 105 where the range is 60 minimum to 110 max. PPBS and Glucose blood sugar GH1BC all are normal. Now i am worried as I am close to 110 in Fasting blood sugar ? how to reduce it further.......I do cardio for 30 minutes everyday with 10kms speed..5 kms per day...
Avatar n tn Yes just 1 test can be wrong. Ask for an OGG test Oral Glucose Tolerance test. Make sure that when they do the test that they test your BG every 30 min for 3 hours.
Avatar n tn In general, if your blood sugar level is below 100 mg / dL after fasting for at least 8 to 10 hours, then your blood sugar is normal. Blood sugar levels are usually lowest before each meal.
Avatar f tn A lot of doctors are now just taking a blood sample for a test called A1C. The A1C test is a common blood test used to diagnose type 1 and type 2 diabetes and then to gauge how well you're managing your diabetes. The A1C test goes by many other names, including glycated hemoglobin, glycosylated hemoglobin, hemoglobin A1C and HbA1c. The A1C test result reflects your average blood sugar level for the past two to three months.
Avatar f tn t matter, it still spikes our blood sugar. All diabetics are different. The way to find out what works for YOU is to test, test, test. Eat a food you like and test your blood sugar two hours after eating. It needs to be under 140; under 120 is even better. If it is higher, than you can't eat that food, or that amount of that food. A lot of testing in the beginning will help you figure out what foods and what amounts of those foods work for you.
Avatar n tn I have had a blood sugar test and gave a reading of 6.1 about 1 hour after a breakfast (Weetabix, Milk, Orange Juice). I have to go back and have repeat test but after having nothing to eat approx 9 hours beforehand....will this give an increased or decreased reading.
Avatar f tn Fasting should be 80-90, 1 hr after eating 120-140, and 2 hrs after eating 100-120. Not sure if that's what you mean or not? Or after the glucose test. I've been using a glucometer to keep track of mine over the course of a week.
Avatar n tn I tested my blood sugar this morning and it was 105. Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.
Avatar n tn If your fasting level is 115 and after you eat is 147 you are ok If your fasting is 147 that is a bit high and I would try to modify my diet Dee
Avatar f tn Usually, fasting begins at midnight for a test the next day. Your sugar by the standards of your lab states it was high on your first test. The repeat is normal. I am not sure if that was a fluke. I'd probably get it checked in another 6 months to see where you are at. This article may help you understand how blood sugar can fluctuate and when it is normal. https://www.mayoclinic.
1058898 tn?1275675151 I notice my blood sugar at night between 2-3 am are over 120 and my fasting blood sugar in the morning is over 100. When i get the fealing of low it is around 80 and it will keep dropping. the last time it went to 67 and i had to eat some thing i couldnt wait. i had a cup of oj and checked in 15 min and it went to 137. I have also notice that i spike about 1 hour after eating and come down around 2 hours after which is mostly in the 130. and i notice if i drink a can of pop.
Avatar f tn I have made my appointment with my Dr. For Friday morning at 8 am.. Fasting blood sugar and hba1c test will be done... I'm a bit nervous, my fasting blod sugar this am was 112... Hopefully I'm going to be diabetic free!!
Avatar f tn It really depends if u need insulin or pills, if you cant control your blood sugar then you take pills if your blood sugar is not high. But if normally your fasting numbers are high then thats why they put you on insulin. I have a coworker that went straight to insulin and shes a diabetic now but her numbers were crazy high like in the 500 when she did the glucose test. The doc just prob know that pills wont help you.
325405 tn?1262290178 Haven't yet been in to see an endocrinologist or a dietary person to talk blood sugar levels and diet. Am having problems dealing with my insurance company who won't even cover my stupid testing strips. They basically are $1 a strip. Expensive. I had gestational diabetes several years ago (gestational diabetes was covered 100% for supplies and visits), so I am aware of how to do all the blood testing and have been doign fine about that.
Avatar n tn His blood sugars are NOT fine. A fasting level of 121 mg/dl is prediabetes.
Avatar n tn B/c it has been happening more and more often, I said something to my doctor. I had just had a yearly exam and my blood sugar (non-fasting) was 80 and no sugar in my urine. She said that was good and there was no need for further testing. My question is: does a fasting or glucose tolerance test need to be done to diagnose diabetes (or hypoglycemia), or is this non-fasting number sufficient to suggest there is nothing wrong? thanks.
Avatar m tn It provides an average of your blood sugar over the past 3 months. She should do that test now in addition to a fasting test as well.
Avatar m tn Prediabetic is a label for having BG problems your 185 is high and so is your A1c An A1c of 5.7 to 6.4 is prediabetis (on two separate tests) while your fasting is OK you clearly have problems with carbohydrates they raise your BG and then you crash after. reducing your carbs will reduce your post meal BG spike and that may reduce your hypoglycemic reactions. You eat carbs your pancreas makes insulin but does not shut off so you go hypoglycemia.
Avatar f tn i am not diabetic but for some reason, for the.oast couple weeks i have been monitoring my blood sugar and its all over the place. the highest ive noticed was 281 after a big dinner and 2 minutes later it drops down to 113. any other ones are like, 232, 158 but i dont feel anything weird in my body at all. but my blood sugar when i woke up yesterday morning was 97 that was before breakfast. pls if u know anything about this, give an advice on wut to do.
Avatar m tn That is not entirely accurate. What you describe can take up to 3 days (72 hours) to start to occur and is very dependent upon health and stress factors. As far as fasted training goes, the muscle break down that occurs can be relatively easy to overcome under normal circumstances but there is also the option of supplementing with Branch Chain Amino Acids just prior to fasted training and during longer training sessions to prevent it all together.
